  1. Well, they were trying to extinguish fires they created themselves. And it's definitely not as straightforward as "fighting Islam." If it was, the U.S. would've turned Saudi Arabia into a crater by now, the home of the extreme Wahabbi ideology that's been exported internationally. If Amreeka was serious about nullifying the Islamic threat, they'd start by telling the Saudi royals to go flip themselves. Instead, they're treating them with kid gloves. And anyone expecting a potential Trump regime to get tough with them is living in a fantasy world.

  3. Sorry to digress for a moment. It's almost worthy of a stand alone post on this forum. MisterSingh's comments earlier in this thread about refraining from making arguments personal assist us all in learning from one another. I am certainly not immune to this mistake and it takes ongoing work. It's not always easy to find the right mix of passion and reason. We can detract from our own interesting points by making things personal. MisterSingh's approach is not a mere strategy or surface communication. It's a state of mind that's integral to any saint-soldier. Beautiful thoughts and approach bro.

  5. I take your sentiments into account brother. But, the fundmentals of my criticism of you, and all the messages before you, can be found in the very first page of this thread. What I said there went largely ignored and I think thats a shame. A shame but also quite frustrating for me personally and I think at this point we all need to take time out and analyse what Sikhi means to us on a personal level and in order to understand that we have to be conscious of how we reached this particular stage. I ask you all to do this because, at the end of the day, the ultimate truth is that the London, Toronto or Vancouver born mona Sikh that decides to grow his hair and become amritdhari is 1000% more knowledgable than all the multitude of parcharaks we have today who do 'sikhi' for a living. Those who have reached a better understanding of Sikhi know how to see both sides of the coin. In this particular thread it should be even easier to see 'both sides of the coin' because more often than not it is actually us who are on that other side of the coin. So, when 90% of the time it is 'evil muslims' who have absolutely no feeling for the hurt that will be caused in a Sikh girl's family...absolutely no regard for the pain....in their zealousness to help a Sikh girl disregard her family and become a Muslim shoud we, now that we are the tiny 10% of that equation, join them in their inhuman behaviour and also display that same disregard and feeling for that muslim girl's family ? My answer is that we should neither discourage nor encourage. Whilst the other faiths are about the hatefull vengeance of a fearfull god ours is about the supreme love that dwells inside of us all....and that love is god. With love in her heart let her, if she really wants to, find her own way to Sikhi. None of us should be seeking to destroy that family unit in our zealousness to make her choose that option. If we do......then that is, by definition, no longer about love.
