  1. Ganesh is an attribute of Waheguru, specifically the intellectual attribute. ਜੋ ਸੁਖ ਨਿੱਤ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਭੁ ਨਾਮ ਰੂਪ ਆਧਾਰ ॥ That Blissful, Everlasting, Consciousness, which is the support of all Names and Form [Maya]. ਮਤਿ ਨ ਲਖੇ ਜਿਹਿ ਮਤਿ ਲਖੈ ਸੋ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਅਪਾਰ ॥1। [That non-dual] which is not understandable with the mind [which is engrossed with vices] yet understandable with the mind [which has wisdom and unattached], I am that Pure Infinite [non-dual Being]. [An uncertain pupil asks Nichal Das; why have you not first paid salutation to Shiv Ji or other important deities? Response below] ਅਬਧਿ ਅਪਾਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਮਮ ਲਹਰੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਨ ਮਹੇਸ਼ ॥ I am That limitless, infinite form, whose waves are Vishnu and Shiva. ਵਿਧਿ ਰਵਿ ਚੰਦਾ ਵਰੁਣ ਯਮ ਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਧਨੇਸ਼ ਗਨੇਸ਼ ॥2॥ [my waves are] Brahma, the Sun, Moon, Varun Devta, the Messenger of Death, Shakti, Kuber, Ganesh. 2. Bro read what I wrote carefully. My comment was about the time period of Sarbloh Granths arrival in Punjab which even Nihangs say was around 1805. You said Nihangs who were created by Guru Sahib did amrit sanchars in presence of Sarbloh Granth which is inaccurate since Puratan Nihangs did not even have posession of this Granth until an Udasi gave it to them and it arrived in Punjab in 1805 from the Daccen

  3. Read what bhai sahib said more carefully veerji. He said Sri Sarbloh Granth first came to Punjab in around 1805, and he is right. Guru Sahib actually brought Sri Sarbloh Granth to the attention of the Sikhs when he was travelling in Nanded, the place where he left his corporeal form in 1708 (a lot later than 1698). It was said to have been jealously guarded by the Nihang Singhs who were present at Guru Sahib's pyre, and who remained in the Deccan. I don't see how Sarbloh Granth, in its current form, could possibly have existed in 1698 because it frequently mentions the Khalsa, which was of course founded in 1699. 1805 was around about the time the Sikhs of Punjab had finally recovered from the constant invasions and assumed their full height as a people, it is unlikely that they came across Sri Sarbloh Granth before this, particularly since there was very little communication between the Punjabi Sikhs and the Deccani Sikhs until Maharaja Ranjit Singh had established his Empire.

  4. the Sarbloh Granth first came to Punjab in around 1805. So that means having this Granth in amrit sanchaars is an innovation by later Nihangs. Through out the 1700s this was not part of the Amrit cerimony as it became in later times. Sri Dasam Granth on the hand has been with the khalsa since the start.

  6. Thankyou penjis and bhajis for making me see it in a different light. No one ever complained before, and we have been attending that Guradwara for now 10 years. When you are surrounded with complaints from everyone all around, it just makes you a bit angry at whoever introduced that system. I will however try to talk to more people and get their views. I definitely have a better mental attitude to the system now. Thanks.

  7. again this is not a restaurant ...you go to Guru ji's charan to receive blessings ...if you reject it purely on the basis of how quickly you get your langar I'm sorry you have missed the point . The old system was the system that Guru ji put in place and it works fine in Harmandir sahib where they serve 100,000 on an average day. It is all attitude and practice , I'm sure the kids would love to do this sewa as I visited my childhood gurdwara for a cousin's program and my sons loved serving prashadey and tending to pani and sabji refills along the lines it also means they learn to be unpredjudiced and open to all kinds of ages and races . In fact they asked if they could go back again because of that opportunity.

  8. Indian media really promoted this. This confirms an organised anti Sikh campaign is alive and well in India. This type of news never has a source but appears at the same time in India media outlets. This suggests Indian officials release this to the press at the sametime.
