  1. or anything else being NOT acceptable in SikhISM or sikhiDrink..........drink as much as you want but be prepared for the consequences of your actions..................if you wanna get to waheguru and lead a good life..................do good things, surrounding yourself in positive energy and looking after your body to help you on this journey...........all these things go had in hand................. However if you are not inclined to Walk Gods path.............God wont love you any less, You your self have written you fate with your own hands when you parpake in action KNWOING that is it the wrong one............drinking, adultery, drugs, etc.... The rest is up to u.. the things in bold are in essence the teachings of sikhism (sikhi for the freshy). therefore drinking alcohol is not the practise of a good sikh whose aim is getting to waheguru. maybe i came across the wrong way lol.
  2. gangster sikhs lol, last week i loved it when i went to a vaisakhi mela,i saw so many many apne with cut hair, smoking and wearing Bhindranwale shirts, the ironic thing being that if sant ji could see them he'd be telling them how badly they have failed!!!! I think the important thing to perhaps remember, in regard to the khalistan problem, is "pehla sant, pher siphai".(first saint, then soldier
  3. Excessiveness is really the problem I agree It was used as an aesthetic or whatever u call it by Singh soldiers during wartime. That is a good use. Although I know brandy is good for bemaari, flu-shuu, cough and probably some other things. Anything that alters the mind from ones own control, and can possibly cause someone to forget the name of waheguru is bad, if its not drunk and used as a antiseptic i would say this is ok but drinking it for pleasure and to change your conciousness i see as wrong and impertinent and the actions of a extremely weak being. Just to confim to anyone who doubts it. Drinking is not acceptable in Sikhism.
  4. check this out!!!! http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=lP2WdKoIYfc&...feature=related The trimmed beard akshay kumar is a singh everyone???
  5. are you talking to me??? im for khalsistan just to clarify. i was just saying sant ji had every right to be at akal takht cus it can be compared to the white house for americans. As for the struggle, you can not honetly tell me, that every true SIKH man in india is doing there utmost to get there own. they are not even 20% of us are doing anything. Its because their scared of the concequences, Guru Gobind singh taught us clearly that we cannot be scared to get freedom for oursleves and others. The most being done in the UK, is to do some rally on the 5th June???? 2 years ago, a handful of tibet protesters turned up somewhere and it was on the news, thousands of sikhs turn up at a rally and knowone hears.( there is politics involved here with brityish government). I cannot say for certain but if i were in the same sitaution i hope i would have the bravery to do whats needed. no i was talking to rupinder singh and the reason the tibet thing went big is cuz its a fresh story and u kno w how media is...its just as crooked as the gov't Actually, the reason the tibet thing is big is b/c they are teh darlings of the media. Who cannot see the injustice of depriving robe wearing harmless looking monks of their state? They also have the dalai lama leading them. When the lama gives a talk on Tibetan independance it seems very moderate. It's almost like he's giving a spiritual sermon. When Khalistanis discuss human rights abuses in India, it sounds like fire (and not b/c of the abuses, b/c of the style of presentation). This scares off westerners. WE as a group are poor at presenting our message. Shortsighted anger filled kids further undermine our message. Luckily this is beginning to change as Sikh youth are beginning to understand teh need to not just shout out facts, but to acctively engage the audience, and to let the audience (westerners) see that we are not some ''other'' outgroup but are human beings just like them. dude,its nothiing to do with dalai's peaceful approach, the media and political activism of the uk is totally controlled by the government, they obviously have a deal with india. It can be seen from 1984, as when the events happened it was publisiced on bbc news but soon it died out, i believe this is soon after some weapons deals between the UK india government. anyone older remember anything significant??? But your right that most of my generation go about things the wrong way, with fists first and sikhi second. Tibet is not a bigger story because its fresh, it happenned around 1951, therefore our story is fresher, it just the way politics handles the media and what we do to get our message across.

  7. indian government also got Ajaib singh Bagri involved (tryed to frame him), damn congress!!! Ajaib singh Bagri is a bit of manmukh though, he was one of the few singhs to give an excuse for the term terrorist. This is as in the heat of the moment after 1984 he was caught on camera shouting "we will kill 50,000 hindus". Bhul Chak maff to anyone offended by this fact
  8. i think rupinder singh hit the nail on the head, to many manay not interested in sikhi wearing t-shirts and making videos on youtube rather than absolving themselves in sikhi and doing something. I also think its probably time to stop talking and DO SOMETHING!!!. its not as hard as most people think to make a Real difference. I know when im old enough i'll try my best. Another reason he stayed at akal takht/harmandir sahib was the fact that akal takht is the political seat of the sikhs, its kind of like parliament/(or white house for you americans)!!!! where else do you expect sant ji to be???
  9. PAL 07, i understand what your saying, but i believe that when you imply gold has a bad affect on people i disagree. i beleive people give a bad name to gold rather than gold being bad for peole, just for the record, i am against the wearing of gold kara but dont mind it for jewellery for women.
  10. i am aware of this, the question still stands, if you believe this story. do you think that the harimandir sahib should not have gold on it?
  11. Why??? paji brought up a good point. if you think this story is 'correct' then do you disagree with the gold on harimandir sahib????
  12. to be honest i dont beleive that demons exist let alone that some reside in gold jewellery. i think this story could be a metaphor maybe saying gold is bad because it represents greed or some thing? Any other opinions about the use of gold kara?? bhul chak maff {if i have offended anyone}
  13. Traditionaly kara have been iron, or more recently steel, i have seen people with gold kara and from a young age i beleived this wrong. im not entirely sure why i think this , maybe to do with rich and poor etc. is it ok to have a gold kara??? is there anything in sikhi which 'disagrees' with gold kara??? opinions please.
  14. its anoying when people think they have to make up things to convince people what a great faith sikhi is, especially when you dont have to lie, as sikhi is already as good as it can get. its already amazing.
  15. its possible he visited turkey. everything is possible with the gurus :TH:
  16. To my understanding in bani there is no other command other than to love god and find nam. The dastaar was given to us by guru gobind singh to estabilish our identity.
  17. da guy seemed a bit weird just judging frm his accent and dat. wat a clown.
  18. Bhindrawale used the akal takht, its the 'parliament' ot sikhs when MPs make decisions about war they dont sit in a pub, they sit in parliament, the akal takht is not just a temple. <<(a man who uses his temple as his fortress deserves death), >> By the same note would you say the chalea mukhte deserved death for using anandpur sahib as a fortress?
  19. QUOTE(Bijla Singh @ Nov 18 2005, 01:24 PM) This is the freedom Sikhs have enjoyed in India. Our religion is disrespected and insulted yet we are still "long haired hindus"? India doesn't deserve to be called our home. We deserve better. Raj Karega Khalsa lYxw Kwilsqwn hux sUrbIro AYNvy gloN gulwmI nhI jw sk <<bigla singh ji these things r over why r u showing it again. we r happy in punjab and there is no surity that in our new home land some people like badal, amrinder singh, kps gill will not rule . every thing is going fine now dont try it agin. >> WJKK WJKF! simer 169 too much anger, must be all the bhangra music. how dare you say things that what people have done are over in panjab, stop implying that we can forget what happened and carryon living happily, the point wahat im trying to say is are you going to remember and get justice like a lion or will you forget and runaway(ie. like a p*ssy)
