  2. Vaheguru, surround me, Ang Sang Vaheguru, fill me with contentment :3singh3: I see myself as being surrounded by abundance, and never ending flow of energies that make this life full of ease. They come and go as they please, but they never end. The Guru provides and I do not have any attachment. Chardeea Kala Bakshlain, weakness is in believing that there is no hope... Gurfateh
  3. Jeeo, What is there but disease within all of us? We are all guilty of having this gem called Sikhi, obtaining Divine Inspiration, and then being held back in our tracks. How do we get held back after having our eyes awakened? We begin guilt Parchaar, un-necessary discrimination and judgement, while forgetting to speak sweetly We dissolve the rapport that we build each morning with the Guru Ultimately, we regress by filling our minds with semetic concepts of sin and 'holier than thou' attitudes Har Mukh Tho Vaheguru Vaheguru Niklai Na, From that mouth, would be sweet speech, and God quality would emanate into the environment When will such a day come where we all heed our Ultimate Calling? We will see it on website and forums as an awakening of a global consciousness towards Utopian Experience of Love... We will see Sikhi propagated in the True manner and Sikh united under a single banner Our beliefs are Inspired and Awakened by Guru's Grace, Our convictions are reaped from our actions We convince others by our presence, and inherently True nobility is seen there as well. 4. Does anyone know of any Sakhi or reference of Baba Buddha Ji's work with environment?

  6. Forgive me Ji, That is not what I meant. I meant there are various threads such as these which are disheartening to read. The reality is children do Kirtan, and then when they grow up they are disallowed. We are creating a divide. We need to find a balance between here, and unfortunately it is not there. That is all I meant. Regards
  7. Jeeo, for the remembrance of the Lord I am so Grateful of the teachings of Sikh Dharma... 1.Jap - Meditation Firstly, I am ever Grateful for the Light that dispelled the mist, the wonderful gift of meditation on the Ultimate 'Vaheguru'. Simran and Jap came hand and hand and each day do I cleanse with these. Today, perhaps more than ever, is the need to spread this Mantar unto the lips of the rest of the world... 2. Education - Rationalism Second, I am so ever Grateful for the intellectual reverence portrayed to all Sikhs. The concepts of rationalism and utilizing the capacity of a Universal pool of shared knowledge to enhance the journey of humanities time on this earth. Wonderful and I am so elated to recognize this basic human right which so few have. Today it is ever so necessary to educate and uplift the masses from the sleeping slumber of arrogance and assimilation... 3. Langar - Free Kitchen Thirdly, O' forever Grateful am I for the strengthening of the Free Kitchen. Where all could sit equally in 'pangat' in humility, have opportunity to serve, and engage with community. For which we do Ardaas every day. Today does science reveal the healing and uplifting powers of Altruism... 4. Union - Soul Bride Fourth, and forever grateful, am I for this wonderful revelation. The bodies are two, the soul is One. The Soul-bride when it becomes pure and acceptable to the Lord, does it meet in Union. The dreamer becomes the dream. Today, does the stark realities of kaam which is at every level of society, enslaving people literally and figuratively, is there a need for the recognition of the True marriage and the True journey. Marriage in this way is the future... 5. Sewa - Sacrifice Fifth, even of 5 items a list would not do to write of the Gratitude I feel. A tenth of income, selfless giving of the self, all of these are service to the One. However, nothing is more great, more wonderful, more peaceful than the Ultimate Sacrifice that will be remembered until time immemorial: "Teraa kee-aa meethaa laagai. - O Waheguru! Your actions seem so sweet to me. Har naam padaarath naanak maaNgai. - Nanak begs for the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. - Repeated by the 5th Master" Today, we will never see again such awe inspiring beauty in acts of callous anger and hate. Such is the beauty, the vision of God, that if realized pain and pleasure are equal. Today the world needs healing and the Song of Peace can accomplish such a feat... 6. Miri - Piri Sixth, I am so grateful for the initiation eloquently described in the above statement. In Sikh Dharma, neither was mind, body, nor soul neglected as important to wholesome well being. These concepts, when combined, sealed the authority of sovereignty over self and in the realm of life in the world. That all people should stand up for their right to live as free and bountiful souls of the One God. Today, we see the ever increasing flood of disease and self indulgence. Barriers and borders that divide us. But what then Divines us? I believe Einstein put it best in saying "The world is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil; but because of the people who don't do anything about it". Sikh Spirituality dictates that this human life is about proactive and positive action in this world of doubt and allusion. 7. Compassion - Healing Seven, Sat, True and Grateful, am I. This compassion was bountiful and ever a store house of wonder. This compassion revealed Herbal medicine, the uplift of animal welfare, and so much more. "The Guru also established an Aurvedic (herbal medicine) hospital and a research center at Kiratpur Sahib. There he also maintained a zoo - above link". Today, as the world is consumed by toxic medicine, intoxicants, and psycho-tropic allusory media drugs and more, there is the great need for Compassionate healing and the recognition of Nature's Healing qualities, and the Hamony that is needed between man and the ever devoured Nature. Today there is such need. 8. Innocence - Wisdom Eight, infinite the symbol, for which I am gratefully reminded of the One Lord who prevails all beings. We cherish when children come into the world, cherish the memories of our innocence, and when we grow up wish to be children again. This reminder of our True way of living in the world, to be timeless, is the greatest glance of wisdom that can be received and ultimately achieved by Guru's Grace. Today, as children lose their innocence so easily, as the diseases spread unto the world, there is an ever great need for a return to innocent living, and a dose of Spiritual wisdom to guide our personal lives yonder, and forevermore... 9. Nobility - Dharma Nine, Nau Nidh, Nine Gates, the 9 are received, and the 9 are closed by contemplating upon the noblest sacrifice that humanity has ever borne witness. How can I write of the glories without taking a moment to wipe fresh tears from my eye. The path of righteousness was forever in my heart sealed, by the Drop of Love cradled by the one upon whom we meditate Today, as people lose hope, give in to the 5 vikaars, turn blind and are mislead, there is a need to recognize this sacrifice. This sacrifice that the UN only in recent times has recognized as a need. One day history will recognize that the equality of all people, the equality of women, and religious tolerance and acceptance began in the land of 5 rivers... 10. Purity - Victory Ten, I am so grateful for what began in 1500's as Panch Parvan, Charan Pahul was consolidated and ultimately revealed as Panj Pyare and Khande Bate Ki Pahul. The sweet splendour of personal success and upliftment that comes with the constant grace of this reminder, the keeper of a store house of wonder and amazement can not be described. It is an experience to be had, and not shared. The 10th Gate has been revealed to me, life's purpose has become an ease, and the interesting details of life take care of themselves. I am forever a sacrifice unto the One Today, the Divine principles are ever linear and bountiful as ever. What is good for the brain is good for the body is good for the spirit. Sadhana, Dharma, and all things have been consolidated and revealed, and will ever remain so... Gurfateh!
  8. Ji, Valli Ji has summed it up most accurately. It must be said that for Sikhs gaining Spiritual powers is a very simple and easy task. However, use of such powers as the Nau Nidhi, and Buddhi, will easily diminish any Spiritual success. It is like the bowl that is full of water, and holes are poked into it. Best to place your own self on the path of Dharma, and create your own Sadhana... Fateh
  9. Humbly submit the entire Poem in praise of Guru Ji: http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=10082
  10. Another Divisive Thread, Jeeo, Wake up to the higher values of Sikhi and adapt them into your being. Indeed one should be vigilant against those who attempt to alter and demean Gurmat, but should realise the blossoming of spirit in those who aspire on the Guru's Path. Pyaar na bolo, neemai tha hovo, The Saints speak sweetly, and are humble before all of God's beloved creation Fateh
  11. Jeeo, It is unfortunate that Psychologists have the highest divorce rate amongst all people, for constantly criticizing and acting in arrogance with their closest. Sikhi inspires higher values, and ones that do not fall into ego arguments If I may relate the story of Peace lady, who traversed many parts of Asia and Africa, and at one time stumbling upon a tribe in Africa stated thus (as I recall the story): The suggestion is quite simple, spread love in the absence of hate and judgement Those who judge, do not defines others by their judgement, rather define themselves as those who need to judge. Fateh
  12. Ji As per my understanding without higher education one will find it difficult to receive all the benefits. Individuals with higher IQ and more wealth, live longer, healthier, and are less predisposed to disease. Education - Rationalism Guru Angad Dev ji started the schools and also developed the Gurmukhi language in order to make education available to the downtrodden and the underprivileged of the society at that time - http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Guru ... _Education Second, I am so ever Grateful for the intellectual reverence portrayed to all Sikhs. 13. Jeeo, It is obvious by the very early age Sakhi's of Guru Nanak that he was not born as anything other than Divine Being guided by God. All were his friends and he was enmity to none. He rejected superstitious practices, and asked that the True Thread be the one of God's Name We would speak in arrogance if we supposed to know the Purpose and Exaltation of Guru's coming into the world. Fateh

  15. Again, another question about the divide. What was the recent film: United we stand, Divided we Fall. This ego that has welled up within the Sikh Panth is digressing the faith, and causing a great blunder for those who desire to step upon the path of Sikhi. If Khalsa school can be given as an example, where children are allowed to play Kirtan to their hearts desires without discrimination, why is it that we choose to strip people of their purity and innocence when they grow older?
  16. If you want more info into the Laws of Britain, check out the documentary series "Britz" Basically, it is a law that takes away peoples human rights, if they have anything to do with Islamic extremism, they can detain you, strip search you, torture you by any means depending on how close you have contacts to foreign militancy groups They tap your phones, monitor you by undercover agents, CCTV your every action. Based on this law, they could easily have taken him in due to the kidnapping alone, which of course is a grievance of innocence to begin with http://www.channel4.com/culture/microsites...itz/issues.html http://www.channel4.com/culture/microsites/B/britz/
  17. The lack of response gives me incredible hope that if I were in that position I would have support from friend-Sikhs.
  18. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=60280948783&ref=ts On Tuesday 3rd February, Satnam Singh Gurwara (Home Office Ref: G1154308), aged 16, was arrested by the Home Office when he and his dad went to sign at Dallas Court in Manchester. Bowing Head

Jeeo, Within Sikhi, the act of 'touching' of person's feet/shoes is not a cultural matter so to speak, rather if one is in the company of Gursikhs there is often a move to become the 'dust of the feet' I believe this relates to a Sakhi : "GURU RAM DAS AND SRICHAND: Baba Srichand, the eldest son of Guru Nanak, had founded a religious sect of his own known as Udasis. He visited Amritsar and came to see Guru Ram Das. On seeing Guru's long flowing beard, Baba Srichand asked him jocularly why he grew it that long. The Guru replied,"To wipe the dust from the holy feet of the saints like you." 'Your this sweet humility is the magic that makes you so great and makes me feel so small,' replied Srichand." If it is ever seen that a Sikh is respectfully lowering themself unto another, it is not to touch the feet, but rather to gather the dust of the Saint or Saintly congregation.
  20. It seems as if no one has figured out that this poster; From Vancouver probably born in 80 Studying Crimonology at SFU has posted the same question on various boards, just to cunningly get answers from a variety of people, dogmatic, or whathaveyou
  21. Agree there would too many name clashes and confusion if people didnt use thier surname. Its a choice nothing wrong with Harminder Singh Sandu. Theres loads of castes and tribes all over the world and in all types of Society. Lets look at England, Brummies come from Birmingham, Cockneys come from London Scoucers come from Liverpool etc you could say thats a caste, caste can be there to identify people but shouldnt discriminate. Finally someone who agrees :D lol If this is the case, it could easily be rectified by applying a suitable middle name, such as that of the childs father or mother Why should we expect society to be perfect in its interpretation Anyone who is into Physics will know that the scientific confusion created by negative electrons being denoted with (-), could easily have been rectified if it was actually called the protein (+), so the world goes on in arrogance. There are other modifiers that could easily be used to overcome the great name issue, especially as the options such as DOB and parents names can easily be counted upon modern computer systems, which actually have to handle the great task of large name databases in the first place.
  22. IF anyone recalls the Surrey Football (soccer) referee incident, when the referee decided to Cut off the individuals Kara, it appears that for specific situations and in the case that I presented previously, where the NHS was preventing me from wearing a Kara in Hospitals, it appears that in specific situations an alternative that is acceptable in situations where our Rights are not available unto us, then it may be prudent as an alternative
  23. Ji, I would love to give if I was not in 100 000 GBP of debt. Forgive me for my shortcomings.
