  5. Genesis 1:1-8,NIV ”In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said,” Let there be light,” and there was light. Then God saw the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night”. And there was evening and there was morning- the first day. And God said,” Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning- the second day.” Genesis goes on describing the remaining “five days” of a “seven day” creation story. Day “three” God creates land and seas along with all forms of vegetation in the plant kingdom. The fourth day: Genesis 1:14-19:NIV “And God said,” Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. God made two great lights- the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning- the fourth day.” The fourth day is of special interest. It may give us a glimpse at what ancient astrology was all about- not originally worshipping stars and constellations but rather, simply using their positions in the sky as a celestial calendar to chart the seasons (Gen 1:14). Also, the “stars” (Gen 1: 17-18) could also be a metaphor for messengers of God or holy people. It makes no sense for the stars to be created after the earth or its plant life. It also makes little sense to “set stars in the sky to give light to the earth, to govern the day and night.” If “light and dark” are seen as “good and evil” and “stars” are seen as God’s messengers giving light to the world then Genesis makes perfect sense and even can agree with modern science. (Jesus said he came to bring light to the world.) The fifth day God creates aquatic animal life and birds. He bids them to be fruitful and multiply. (Notice birds were created before the larger beasts.) These God created on the sixth day at which time God made wild animals and livestock. It is at this point God creates Man. Genesis 1:26-27:NIV “Then God said,” let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” There appears to be a second creation story in the bible. Genesis 2:4-7: describes the creation of Adam specifically while Genesis 1:26-27: (above) talks of man as a species being created as the final product in a long line of evolutionary creation (generally from the simplest to the more complex). Genesis 2:4-7: NIV “This is the account of the heavens and of the earth when they were created. When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens- and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground- the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” pretty interesting stuff if u ask me eh??
  6. unless u plan on eating the soap i dont think there is a problem
  7. whats the point in getting invoved in these little things. leave him alone! one thing i find funny is the pork thing- surely by his logic i can say that the reason for some muslims acting like cows is because they eat beef...
  8. heloo london!! i understand ur problem however sikhsangat is probably not the best place to get relatioship advice. however if i were u id prob tell her to pi** off in the kindest possible way of course. i find it annoyin when people lie especialy when they dont think its a big deal. small lies fair enough im not too bothered but i think its best if u marry someone honest and someone you will be able to trust. hope it works out oksies.
  9. who are we to say who the greatest Sikh of the 21st century is?
  10. Fateh Ji I totally disagree, I think in todays day an age, we need to aquire skills and keep developing them.I advise all young Sikhs to get into boxing as its the quickest way to get someone down, then gradually moving into grappling etc. Gatka for me has become a show event but in an ideal world would not really help for self defence. bhul chuk maaf karni Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fatteh shastar vidya/gatka wud be good if we started to revive it I have a feeling tht during the next few years things mite change all of us will realize ourselves and then begin to follow the miri piri way(spiritual physical political etc) WJKK WJKF! revive it? Only one lone Nihang is doing that sewa....Nihang Niddar Singh. well ive been doin a martial art for abou 8 years now (got a black belt ;-) ). and i completely disagree. u cant use the fact that u did kung fu when u were a kid as a valid example bcos u were indeed just a kid. if u want i can prove that martial arts work- gimme a time and a place ;-) (that was a frendly joke b4 admins come along and kik me off the forum ). i disagree. i think shastar vidya is not going to help at all now. u pull put ur kirpan and shastar in a real life fight and use it against someone then ur gna get kirpan banned for sure. instead i think gatka and shastar vidya are more for show- although it may be important to learn it, realisticaly ur never going to use it on streets etc. get your head checked I think your trying your dastaar a bit too tight as it seems that you are confused seeing as you think and shastar vidiya are the same things. shastar vidiya for show? your having a laugh. you have never seen the true shastar vidiya bet you havent even stepped in Niddar Singhs Akhara, you talk about how the vidiya wont help us now, your a joke you dont know jack.dont comment on things you dont know. hello mr caveman. nope my keski is actually rather loose at the moment... let me rephrase my last post: go ahead and learn shastar vidya- but i would advise not placing ur shastar inside some one elses body in a fight unless you want kirpans banned :-). yes it is impt to learn, but unless you live in a country which allows you to use weapons in fights then your not going to be able to really use it. if you want to learn how to "street fight" then take up boxing or something like that etc. if you still think im a joke for advising not to use shastars in a fight then i couldnt care less. theres too many sad people like you looking for arguments on this forum- get a life. anyway this is my last post on this topic i have much better things to do...

  13. visit malli singhs for AKJ sangat
  14. Inder Singh seriously what is ur obsession with kala afghanis????
  15. fateh,, wa do u mean ss shud ban such coments off. i fail to see wa he has sed wrong here. he has not sed anything untrue and he is not doin nindia by refusing to accept dasam granth as his Guru. If Dasam Granth is our Guru when was it given Gurghadi cos i have never heard of it (sarcasm). Its absurd to say that we are not aceeptng Guru Gobind Singh as a Guru if we dont accept Dasam Granth as our Guru. GROW UP Fatehh
  16. thats true though aint it!!! its about time we stood up to these people who are trying to divide us from the inside if people cant see that those named above are agents and are trying to kill sikhi as we know it then there blind as hell!! So does that statement in bold include the likes of Bhai Randhir Singh who did not belive in Raag Mala? Even Sant Jarnail Singh, who believed in Raag mala scolded a singh for reading it at Akal Takht when he read it there and the marayda said otherwise. This shows that Sant ji had more respect for the Guru roop sangat's decission than his own belief. It's sad that we are all fighting about his when the Akal Takht could so easliy give some direction for all Sikhs to follow. But until Badal & his goons are running the show that aint gonna happen. Lets do something practical to eliminate the root cause rather than sit here fighting about the reprocussions. i dont want to turn this into a raagmala debate.....but my views on this are clear cut and i fully agree with wat was said....no exceptions with regards to sant jarnail singh ji.....if wat u said is true (because its the 1st iv heard of it) that shows that they had the upmost respect for guru hargobind sahibs thakht and didnt in anyway want to show it in a bad light...not anything else......in the same way they didnt matha tekh within the actual harmindir sahib because the akaal thakht stated guns could not be taken in there....it was out of respect for the thakht!! yep its true. i think it was baba jarnail singh nephew that he scolded if i remmeber coreectly. but it DID happen.
  17. so no1 knows hu taxal jathedar is??haha. personaly, i thought it was baba harnam singh. but on anoter note... whats with putting sant in front of everyones name these days... think of purutans gursikhs like baba banda singh bahadur, bhai taru singh, bhai kanaiyaa singh, baba deep singh, bhai mani singh etc etc.
  18. personally, i dont think theer is anythign wrong with feeding a dog meat. u r not eating the meat itself so there is no problem. most non vegetarian dog food can be served without touching the meat so i dont see y there is shud b a problem. and LOL at people that feed their dogs roti...
