Hoshiarpuria ji, First you don't know what i do or what i don't.. to whom i give money or not... Secondly, I strongly believe that it should be our personal matter and many sikhs don't boost by contributing/helping others.. Also in such matters we should respect each other privacy and not to judge others quickly. Plus, even if i go to punjab tomorrow to such sewa.. nobody will know about it.. i rather keep it between myself and effected person/family whom i am helping. To others it may seem like making excuses but to me it may be helping to fight ego/name and other vices etc..

Bhai sahib, I do agree with you and the original poster regarding the dire urgent need to take care of our shaheed's family members. We are very far behind if compared with any other community. Maybe NeverForget84dotcom veer should post list of parivaars who need help. They can publish it on their website and then many sangataan can help such parivaars whenever they make trip to punjab (in my view that is much more effective way to help).. I would go to punjab and give sewa to such parivaars by myself rather than handing over sewa to someone whom i never met and plus them supporting/partnering with some socialist/communist/scientologist type of missionary groups. I tried to avoid replying on this thread.. chaalo.. Sorry for the negative reply..

Having an organization who are in partners with the missionary group from india who are responsible for creating anti-panthic soch authors and distorting sikh history time over time. Maybe that is the reason why some members like me stand away from such organizations and its work.

I respect their lifestyle but this to me is bit disturbing. Please discuss gently.

Noted your point and i agree with you but then at the same time.. do take a look at the picture with different angle.. One singh friend of mine gave me this example and i can relate that to this issue: I have a house with big yard - garden/trees/shrubs/flowers etc. I own the house and initially it is my job to take care of the yardwork but being really busy @ work and other wordly things, i couldn't maintain the garden and thus hired the professional gardener @ 90$/month to take care of my yard work. Doing that my house looks good, neat and clean from pest, weed and so on.. It will also bump up my house price in the area.. It is my choice to either hire professionals; who owns good equipment, give all type of garden fertilizer and so on to keep my grass green.. OR i can hire a non-professional gardener who will come to attend his duty but will not do that job that i prefer him to do as i will be paying him waaay below the market value. Without any offense, same goes with our gurdwara system.. It is initially our job (YOU/ME) to take care of gurughar and do sewa regularly (which means daily). But we don't do it as we are either busy with work, school, family etc.. More than 90% of us don't even know what to do.. hell i don't even know how to take hukamnama properly or do kirtan di sewa etc.. So, it will be best for us to keep honest sewadars from sangat and pay them good (at least that is what we can do).. Giving them proper salary will keep our young generation in proper shape and keep bad elements away (just like professional gardener keep garden green/neat/weed-free).. OR we can give salary waaay below minimum wage and today result is in front of us- with major drug, dowry, caste, patit/mona problem in our society. Try to do sewa as much as we can but at the same time if lack of proper sewadars.. hire professionals to do the tip-top job !!!

Punjab is being raped from its resources by outsiders. Huge decline of culture, language & history. In next 20 years Punjab will be left with no water & no trees.

Fact- The most khalistani vocal person in United States who is also the head of one organization and also arrange and participate in every demonstration in front of embassies recently sent their kids to study in India. Isn't that shows that he supports/funding india ith $$ ? If compared.. it is same like Bush sending his daughter to Taliban country for education. I also know another khalistani person who is also very famous and founder of one of the most vocal khalistani organization in US outsourced his business to India. Opinion- The most famous khalistani faces abroad are thugs in some way around. We hold them responsible for doing nothing in the last 25 years. If one becomes the head of sikh political organization or running an organization or habit of giving speeches on stages every other month then he/she needs to be hold responsible to do something just like any other officer of any organization. If he/she don't do anything except drama baaji then he/she pulled off the organization and from stage. Typically you see these ppl sticking with their organization seat for the past 20+ years and all you see is scripted speeches over & over. There are true singhs and most of them stay as gupt and doesn't care about fame/money etc. Besides them all other are bogus, cheat, sharabi and liars; one typical example khalistan.com.

Bay area is probably the best place to settle down. Sacramento is nice too. Yuba city, Stockton, fresno and other central valley cities are too much backward type in my opinion. I myself live in central valley and I hate the weather. Bay is nice all yr round. Sangat/gurdwara wise, I would suggest either San Jose, el sobrante or Fremont... These cities have more gurughar programs than valley gurdwaras.

There is no way that group of sikhs who are in control of sangat money will ever go for this "really good" advice. They will not even entertain such advice given to them. They think it is total waste of money to hire a pr. Very much needed but will not be adopted unless new generation take over the control {which will happen after expiration of current generation lol}.

Run really fast from them... They are the worst business minded, sikhi twisting ppl i have ever known in US. Stay away from them !!!! Sikhri/Fateh/PDL/Sojhi/Saanj/Jakara/Jagomiami and several other orgs/retreats are usually run by same mindset of ppl !!!!

WoW !!! Never knew that they are against Dasam Granth Sahib and supports Sikh Lehar Center and Darshan. Who are their administrators? Though very good project however, i hope that no sikh leader/representative should endorse such product for sikhs. If i am in military by myself, i will never wear one.
