  7. this happened in Malaysia..and the case is genuine. The incident is a genuine tragedy. 8. Parents of a Sikh teenager attending national service training is crying foul after their son woke up on Sunday to find that about two and a half feet of his hair had been cut off. (The above picture, it shows the current length of the boy's hair, while the Singhni's hand points till where the length of her sons kesh USE TO BE)[/color] In the Sikh religion, the cutting of hair is strictly prohibited as part of a practice known as kesh. Surinderpal Singh, 47, said he and his wife are very distraught and they now refuse to allow their son to continue attending the course. "He is very traumatised after the incident. Tomorrow, worse things might happen," said Surinderpal when contacted by Malaysiakini. The son, whose name had been withheld by the parents, began his ordeal after a long day of training on Saturday and slept soundly that night. According to the boy's police report, he realised something amiss the following morning when combing his hair and immediately contacted his father at about 6.30am. "He realised that he couldn't make a knot," said Surinderpal, who incidentally is a Sikh temple priest in Jalan Gurdwara, Ipoh. The boy's hair which initially reached his buttocks, is now only chest length. The teen does not know who was responsible for the incident and was unable to find any traces of his lost hair or the instrument used to cut it. Not returning to camp Surinderpal said that he and his wife immediately left for the Seri Impian training camp in Sungai Bakap, Penang. At the camp, they waited for about an hour to meet the camp commandant who was away as it was a Sunday. During the meeting, the commandant allegedly said trainees are barred from possessing scissors and nail cutters, suggesting that the instrument used to cut the teen's hair may have been brought in by parents during weekend visits. The commandant was then said to have promised an investigation but only agreed to allow the teen to go on leave until Jan 23, after some initial hesitation. Surinderpal said, that given his son's ordeal, he would not allow him to return for training unless the authorities offer him a guarantee over the safety of his son and all trainees. "I don't have confidence in them (camp authorities). I am also scared more harm would come to my son... My son kept his hair for 18 years. In just two weeks, (most of) it is gone. "He is quite shaken up. We, as parents, are also shaken up. We are in a dilemma now. Today, this has happened to my son. It can happen again to other children of any faith. Can the authorities convince parents that the training camps are safe?" he asked. NS DG: Isolated incident The boy lodged a police report on Jan 16. In it, he claimed that the camp commandant had stated that this is something "normal" done by "naughty youths". "I have to report back to the camp on Jan 23 but I don't want to continue my training. I am not satisfied with the incident because it involves religion. "I want legal action to be taken and this matter must be thoroughly investigated," read the boy's report, a copy of which was made available to Malaysiakini. Contacted today, National Service Training Programme Department director-general Abdul Hadi Awang Kechik said that the case is an "isolated incident" and that parents should not be overly alarmed. "This is a special case, but we need to check (the facts) in detail. I cannot comment on the parents' views. My job is to check (the facts) in detail and take action accordingly," he said. He was responding to a question on how the department plans to instill confidence in parents that their children are safe in the training camps. Abdul Hadi was unable to provide further comment as a full investigation is in progress. However, he confirmed that he has received a preliminary report on the matter. He stressed that it is not part of the department's standard operating procedure to require Sikh trainees cut their hair. Abdul Hadi is scheduled to hold a press conference in Putrajaya this evening to provide further details.
  9. I mean this says a lot about these paki guys.... at one end a Jihadi and at the other a flirt ?
  10. lol lol lol  sorry for the rudeness..but I really did burst into laughter. on the serious note. No, its not what you need its a uni started by a dodgy cult(Tarmala) .
  11. thaxs for explaining on why they display it. but is a Jalao exactly? I have been wondering the same myself. When they display it, it is usually reported in the news all the time.
  12. Tho I am not qualified to say anything on this. I strongly suggest to you to listen to this talk by BHai Balpreet Singh(Tapoban) at Khalsa Camp UK 2005 on the "Purpose of Life". I seriously think its the ideal thing for you to listen to.Here you go: The Purpose of Life as per Gurmat. it from here: http://www.ikatha.com/index.php?q=f&f=%2FEnglish_Katha%2FKhalsa_Camp_2005 I was affected deeply by it when I heard it the 1st time long time ago. So, that's the reason I am recommending it for you.
  13. If you truly are a Singhni, then I suggest you seek Guru Jis Sharan(santuary), as I personally believe in not keeping my hopes on mere mortals advice. There is nothing your guru can help you out of. All hukamnamas u have taken direct you only at japping naam/bhagti. So do it. If your husband is such then it is must be due to absence of Naam/Gurbani in his jeevan. Then there is also a chance that he has a job where he in constant pressure, which he lets out on you. Do at least 1-2 Sri Sukhmani Sahib , and LISTEN to the Gurbani you are reading with full concentration, faith & love. Trust me, Gurbani can do paras kala beyond words. Do simran whenever he starts shouting within yourself. Reading your post I can say that you and your Singh might not bee keeping amritwela together. (I get this impression here) Try to make a point for both of you to sit together read Gurbani/Simran and Seva at Gurughar together. Dont push him to do it, encourage politely. (if you can't make him wake up at amritwela as a start ) I read this once on Gurmatbibek.com forum: "A family that Jaaps Naam together, Stays together" and I happen to agree a lot with Singhstah's post. The fact that he feels bad after losing his temper means he has no control over his krodh(due to lack of control over the mind). Naam is the solution. Gurbani clearly says without Naam in ones self, having bad virtues is unavoidable. As this is kalyug. correct my assumptions if I am wrong in anyway.
  14. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o :o :o is that YOU? (admin: he will ask questions, only to STIR problems. Those who have experience with him KNOW  )
  15. can some one please list down all the books written by all Taksal Jatheydaars? only this book of Baba Gurbachan SIngh ji is known to me.

  17. NO MORE actually...... Out of these Historic Gurughars....only a handfull have parkash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji' & are well taken care off. These are: Gurdwara Nankana Sahib (1-3 gurdwaras in Nankana Sahib also have parkash) Gurdwara Dera Sahib(Where Guru Arjan Dev Ji got Shaheedi) Gurdwara Panja Sahib. Gurdwara Bhai Joga Singh ji in Peshawar is still in very good condition, it is also the only self governed Gurdwara in Pakistan where the Sangat runs it. Instead of the corrupt PSGPC(controlled by corrupt Pakis) . The most unfortunate thing is Gurdwara Janam Asthan Guru Raam Das ji, in Lahore. Where Parkash of 4th Sri Guru ji took place, does not even have parkash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. I heard there are only like 10 Sikh families in Lahore. Here is a proper list of some KNOWN Gurughars, many dont exist anymore    : http://www.allaboutsikhs.com/gurudwaras-in-pakistan/historical-gurudwaras-in-pakistan.html some historic Gurughars have just become abandoned building & are being occupied illegally . International Sikh Sangat really need to do something... paneer monster stick to topic! <_<
  18. its a veryyyyy good example of FAILURE that the Sikhs need to learn from as a matter of fact
  19. The British saw it essential to make pakistan due to the huge number of Muslims in Hindustan. It normal for muslims to demand for a nation, whenever they are a majority in a specific geographical location. e.g. Kashmir, South Thailand, South Philippines. The word Khalistan is derived from the word 'KHALSA'. It means , "The Land of the Pure Ones" . Now look at the panth. How many are truely Gurmukh Khalsa Bhagat ? Khalistan will NOT happen anytime soon. Neither it should. It would be a perfect recipe for disaster if "punjabi minded" sikhs get a sikh homeland. In my life, majority of those whom I have seen chanting 'khalistan' dont even wake up for amrit wela. What to talk about running a Khalsa Hukumat? Khalsa Raaj will only happen with Guru Sahib's will, as Bhai Rama Singh ji has said. Getting a sovereign homeland is one thing, maintaining it is another. Look at pakistan, these shameless people ask for aid from America all the time, when at the back they call them kafirs. What honor do these people have ?
  20. I think its a great idea! will keep the bad sangat AWAY from coming near you...
  21. Happy Birthday Singh!!!! =D

  22. Bhagat ji was Sufi, the speaker is Sunni. Sunnis despise Sufis as kuffars .In other words people who have deviated from 'True Islam' Veer ji, where is this document at? can you please give ALL their details about this document? pleaseeeeeee
