  1. Vedic Astrology works, its a science.. it has been proven. Now the important point is that this science works on your karma, and your are destined for something according to your karma. You might say now it is impossible to break out of this if my astrology is going to predict my future, which I dont like. The good news is that it can be broken, but you have to make the effort, to change yourself, to do good karma, remember God's name, remembering God's name, your destiny will be re-written and the astrology will go wrong. There is another Story which has happened during the times of Guruji ( I believe Guru Arjan Dev ji). one person did not belive in going to gurudwara's or reading banis etc.. he asked Guru ji why do i do all this if iam already destined to have a bad destiny in my astrology by my karma... Guru ji said " Come tommorrow , I ll tell you the answer" The person came and then Guru ji said what dream did you have last nite? The person replied " I had a dream, in which I was a householder and and had wife and children, I was poor and went through a lot of suffering" Guru ji then said "This dream was going to be your next life, but since you came to the Gurudwara and remembered God's name, your next life has just been reduced to a dream" Dhan Dhan Guru Arjan Dev Ji!! the one who created us, shall also take care of us
  2. Some people are not ready to follow the way of Ikonkar... but those who are the message is sent to them.. Sorry I think.. maybe i misunderstood your post. are you saying its not good to preach ?
  3. You select the font from the add reply box, to gurmukhi, with your text selected.. "The person whom greed, delusion, wealth, sense of possession and indulgence in sensual pleasures do not attract and for whom pleasure and pain are alike, is the image of God."
  4. This is often refered to as Kabir ji's upside-down language or ulatbamsi poems(check it out on google). There are some scholars who are able to describe this, but then there are sometimes also various conflicting opinions. We are not at the level of Kabir ji, so to read this also in a way, maybe has to make you feel like you are fool. I have reaseached on this and will quote you some of his other poems. But a deeper meaning can come only if you are ready to recieve it's meaning by Gurus grace Kabir ji's style is also similar to the cryptic and secretive style of the tantras. This style is also similar to zen yoga*, like they have quotations like a clap with one hands.. in zen they try to make u sit and understand this until enlitegenment comes.. so what is maybe kabir ji trying to tell you "Could be" meditate on it.. contemplate God's name.. and boom! something mysterious will happen, make u understand it. Ok now onto some intellectuals.. and some poems which they were successful at making sense. Brother, see what comforts man- it's an untellable story. Lion and tiger are yoked to a plow sowing rice in a barren field. The wild bear is pulling weeds, the billy goat runs the farm. The nanny goat married a lion while a cow sang wedding songs. The dowry was an antelope, the bridesmaid was a lizard. The crow washed all the laundry while the heron gnashed its teeth. The fly shaved it head, shouting I must join the marriage party. Kabir says, can you figure out this poetry? If so, I'll call you scholar, genius, devotee. == according to some people.. the lion is the soul, the tiger is the mind ill write the rest later.... and maybe give u also a chance to deduce it

  6. Reading Gurbani just as parrot doesnt seem uplifting, I agree.. its very true ... most of the banis are praises of IkOnkar... so when I 'read' them, i actually think Iam talking to IkOnkar.. this doesnt happen often. But when I do, the power in the gurbani reveals.. Also meditating on the gurbani, reveals a safer place within you , this place cannot be touched by any physical means, its beyond the physical. Just like the Guru says "The hot wind cannot touch the one", It's like that.. But also I find the less I 'read/meditate on' the bani, the special place fades away. So have to always keep in constant practise of it for now. I find reading/meditating on the bani is more powerful then just simply doing meditation sometimes...
  7. Why dont they setup an online shop for this? It will be worth the effort. And any future animations they make can also make use of it.

Great Experiences  Keep posting more....... get inspired be inspired, Helps a moorakh like me to do amrit vela, read bani
  9. Chohan needs to correct that statement : His(not our) leader would be Simran Jeet Mann. I do not support any Khalistan, people in punjab are following corrupt ways, drugs, alcohol and into maya. But I do support their return to the sikh religion and remembrance of naam.
  10. or your friend is talking about nard',.. you just press on the area of the pain.. and it will go away..

    Simran..

Waheguru Ji ka khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I have been reading a lot of posts about general affairs of life. But I havent seen many posts about your inspiration/personal experiences with the Guru. I would like everyone to share your experiences with the Guru. How you feel while reading bani ? what inspires you? anything you can think of , that is benefit to the sangat. **moved to gupt section**
  15. Good points, its certainly a myth.. Just use your common sense. I agree Gupt Dassan Das is saying that we should clean our hands and feet, thats all good and respect for the Guru. I believe, when a women is menstruating how can she dirty the surrounding? Obviously women wear pads or something to prevent the blood falling on the ground? So how can the surrounding get dirty ?? what are your practical reasons on this case. If I have a wound and injury, am I not allowed to go near Guru Granth Sahib?

  17. I dont believe in any distinction.. only distinction there really is manmukh and gurmukh. also a person should not seek social, interaction and all that is fine. But usually i find the Gurudwaras more becoming socializing place, rather then to see the Guru and feel the presence. Those who are converts should not get discouraged by the nature of punjabi sikhs, and also those who are punjabi sikhs, should welcome them not stare or wonder, be natural. This just reminds when I came in Canada, people didnt stare at me or make me feel unwelcomed as i looked different. So why should punjabi sikhs do the opposite here? I find that convert sikhs are more devoted then punjabi sikhs, this is because they are making this attempt by choice. So when the next time you see a convert sikh, know that it your duty to respect the devotees of Ikonkar. Ikonkar is the cause of them being there. Consider yourself lucky to have sangat with them. I personally find that the sikhs of 3ho are more devoted then the normal punjabi sikhs i have met. jsut my thougths
  18. What is in a punjabi name , that is not in a goreh name? Is the punjabi name superior? and the goreh name inferior? If you think so , then let me remind you that Guru Nanak Dev Ji said "All the human race is one" . So why get upset by these small issues. Only if you take amrit , then accordingly you put a Kaur or Singh behind your name. If you are born by birth into Sikh family and have that title behind your name, it doesnt necessarily mean that you are true sikh. If you want to know who is a true sikh, then try feeling the heart of such a person when he/she reads bani, if you find love for the Guru, then you will know for yourself. Concerning marriage as you say a sikh should only marry a sikh, then who is a sikh, According to that rehat you posted, it should only be an amritdhari male and female, there is no difference in the where both of them havent taken amrit.. to say the least there is pretty much no difference in the one who hasnt taken amrit and is from a sikh family and devoted to the Guru, and one who is not from a sikh family, but devoted to the Guru. This topic is not required in the first place. no point to it. just blabber and argument

  20. Dont know where the post went... but here is the quotes whoever posted it. -guest- Guru Tegh Bahadur jee saved the hindu religion, todays hindus dont appreciate this. Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee is teaching the world to worship Ik Onkar. If you are hindu then be a good hindu. If you are muslim , then be good muslim. What is good hindu or muslim? Realize that there is only Ik Onkar. You have been reading dasam granth , and other writings, those writings can be misinterpreted. I would advise you to read the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji also said Guru Granth Sahib Ji, is your Guru. Regarding the millions of shivas, brahmas, vishnus, a simple search of Sri Guru Granth Sahib for the word shivas ( or the like ) will give you many results. In the following quote Guru Ji, CLEARLY tells you that the sikh of the Guru has nothing to do with dieties koit sUr jw kY prgws ] Millions of suns shine for Him, kot soor jaa kai pargaas. millions of Shivas and Kailash mountains. kot mahaadayv ar kabilaas. Your servants are totally fulfilled, throughout the ages; O Waahay Guru, it is all You, forever. ||1||11|| Waaho! Waaho! Great! Great is the Play of God! ang 1403
