Yes, gurbani should not be on posters, but pictures of guru and khandas are a whole different issue. I dont think we should pictures of gurus at all anyways, as they are jsut an artists interpretations, but if there are pictures of gurus, I dont think we should hold the pictures in any high regard. I dont see anything wrong with putting khandas on posters tho.

the symbol of a khanda is pretty new and it was created i think in the 1930s before that nishan sahibs didnt have have khandas on them

no it doesnt, it means that it doesnt matter if you dont do your paath/simran, it wont make a difference it you eat meat, or if you dont eat meat. How doesnt it matter if you eat stuff like gelatin and glycerin? Meat is meat, if it comes from an animal it is meat. The animal was killed, and you are eating a part of the dead animal. There is no difference between eating pork or chicken, or eating another part of an animal that was made into glycerine or gelatin. How can you justify eating an animal in one form, and than justify why you dont eat it when its in another form? Is it really that big of a problem to read the ingredients on a package once in a while? And yes, plants are alive too, but they dont feel pain like animals.

I've been told some of the rehitnamai have been altered over time and thats why most of the rehitnamai shouldnt be followed exactly, but should be used as a guide. (Pause) What can one achieve, when he with utter devotion worships the stone gods? What have you achieved in worshipping stones with all your heart and devotion? You could not attain any enlightenment in this way! (1) O ignorant man, your burn incense, make offering of whole rice, which the stone cannot eat. O ignorant one, what spiritual powers could you find in the stone images, that they could bless you of anything? (2) If you could have a deeper thinking that if the stone were To have any life, then alone it could bless you. Except by surrendering oneself to the Lord of the Universe, there is No Salvation. (3) X Rag Dev Gandhari, Patshaei Xth Without meditating on God's Name, no one can be saved. The Lord created the Universe of fourteen regions, and exercises His Athority. Where will you manage to run to a place, to escape from His Authority? (1. Pause) You who indulge in your communal worship of your gods (Ram, Rahim) will not thus be saved. (1) The Vedas, Purans and Koran all call Him Infinite. Also Indras, Sesnagas, angelic beings and seers, who contemplated on Him for ages, could not find His limitations. (2) The Lord, Who is Formless and of no color; how could be called of Blue hued color (Shyam)? Your can attain to your salvation or redemption from the cycle of repeated births and deaths, if you could cling to His Lotus Feet.

i dont know about this. BUTT, I am pretty sure 2 dastaars started when the moghul emperor the only people allowed to wear a dastar were muslims, and in response GUru Gobind Singh Ji said that his sikhs will not only wear a dastaar, but they will wear 2 dastaars.

As Khalastani said, the kesh is the most important kakkar, without kesh, wearing any of the others is useless. It says this in dasam granth. I think kashera is 2nd most important b/c of the fact u have to get 5 singhs to do ardas for u if u take it off. And before converting to another religion, please read some of the Guru Granth Sahib, and than read the quran. There are sooo many differences between the philosophy of these 2 religions. I am sure if u read both Guru Sahib and the quran u will make the right schoice on which religion to follow. I know of another Singh that faced the same prediciment as you and he eventually chose Sikhi over Islam and he is now one of the best Sikhs I know. Dont let this episode discourage you from Sikhi, many of us have faced dopubts in our lives, but we have been able to overcome them and become better Sikhs afterwards, and I know you will do the same.!!! :TH:

yes, u are right that akal takhat maryada says u cant eat halal and akj and ddt say that u cant eat any meat. But this does not go against akal takhat, It is just stricter than akal takhat. Akal Takhat does not say u must eat meat, thye say u may eat chatka, but u may also not eat it. AKJ and DDT are just stricted in this respect and they say u cant even chatka. They do no go against akal takhat in any way.
