  1. [ Yes, good point, they can! Many Sikhs watch it over the internet. Although, the Sikhs of the UK refuse to support their media voice, the Sikh Channel, for some reason! I still cannot work out why!!!
  2. I do not have any business interests in the Sikh Channel or a close friendship with any of the team there! Sikh Channel can stay open no problem! They just have to fight the false legal battle the indian govt will inevitably put to the Sikh Channel. However, that will cost money, and because Sikhs are not prepared to pay a £1 a week to the SIkh Channel it will close! Our Direct Debit money will be needed to fight false legal claims and pressures from the indian government/Shiv Sena/RSS/Chota Sauda/the Gadars amongst us, and all the other Sikhi haters, as well as run the Channel itself. However, because most Sikhs will not pay the DD for Sikh Channel it will go down - maybe we Sikhs actually want Sikh Channel to go down, because we don't actually want the Sikhs to have a voice?? (who knows?). Sikh Channel can bearly pay the running costs, never mind the legal fights that will be coming over the approaching days and weeks - so how can it survive. eg the Sikh Channel need money to represent it's arrested reporters. Where will they get their money from for that, when they do not even have the running costs. Can anybody answer why the majortiy of the hundreds of thousands of Sikhs in Britain are not supporting the Sikh Channel financially at all? Why is it most Sikh are spending money on many other leisure products but not the Sikh Channel? Why won't we help them?
  3. What West London Singh has done is just pointed out a fail safe fact that we had all missed. If all Sikhs signed up to it, it would work without doubt. Nobody would buy a product made by Nazis, so why should anybody buy products sold by the facist organisation, Shiv Sena. The Shiv Sena make even Nazis look like a Human Rights Origanisation!! Question is, how many of us will spread West London Singh's Solution to this problem of hate filled, evil, Shiv Sena?
  4. It's started, 1 Sikh Teenager Shaheed killed by Police. We have to let the rest of the world know, or India will keep on killing Sikhs!
  5. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! The Media black out has started in Punjab and Indian Armed Forces have moved in, and are moving in as we speak, over night, in the Punjab !!!! Please please please warn all your Sikh Families in the Punjab and other parts of india. Sikhs will get killed under the cover of a Indian Media Black out, unless we all push together to keep the media black out, from being succesful!!! Please Start the text campaign now - save your Sikh families in india - Warn them and stop the media black out too!!! All Sikhs are in it together now! Please let all your MPs and all media and press know that the media black out and Armed forces deployment has started in india against one of it's minorities! Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  6. Thanks for this Ghatak and Namosarab, Do you know if Punjabi fonts can be added to the 'Documents to go' package you get on Andriod 2.2. I have got fonts like 'Times' and 'Courier' etc etc but I need a Punjabi font. I can browse the web with the above on my tablet. However, still the Gurmukhi/Punjabi font does not come up, just the usual "sqaure zeros". Can you or anybody else help?
  7. Does anybody know how to add Gurmukhi/Punjabi font to a View Sonic View Pad 7 tablet. My tablet supports Andriod 2.2 and 'docs to go' Word and power point. At the moment when I go on a Sikhi Website I cannot see the Gurmukhi script/font, I only see the english letters. How can I add the font to my tablet (you know where you normally see 'Times', 'Roman' etc etc). I would be very Grateful for any help. Thanks
  8. If we want to state extactly where the Jot was, and is, on a factual and yearly basis then it was sent by Vaheguru as follows:- Guru Nanak - Guru from 1469 to 1539 Guru Angad - Guru from 1539 to 1552 Guru Amar Das - Guru from 1552 to 1574 Guru Ram Das - Guru from 1574 to 1581 Guru Arjan Dev - Guru from 1581 to 1606 _Guru_from_1606_to_1644'>Guru Har Gobind - - Guru from 1606 to 1644 Guru Har Rai - Guru from 1644 to 1661 Guru Har Krishan - Guru from 1661 to 1664 Guru Tegh Bahadur - Guru from 1665 to 1675 Guru Gobind Singh - Guru from 1675 to 1708 Guru Granth Sahib - Guru from 1708 to eternity
  9. It is very sad when you hear that, especially as our Sikh Shaheeds gave their lives for those asthaans too
  10. It's more about finding the medidation 'type or method' that suits you. Try a few different Gurdwara to see if they meditate in different ways (although it will all be Gurmantar or Mool Mantar everyone does it slightly differently
  11. It would nice if somebody made a step by step DVD course for everyday spoken punjabi, with amateur actors and everything. It would be nice if it was for everyday spoken punjabi and progessed in stages so that children, and adults, could start to apply what they learned rapidly.
  12. Thanks for that, it's useful to know. Do you know if the apps 'Gurbani Anywhere' and 'Sikhi to the Max' work on your Galaxy Tab? I was wondering what Sikhi apps worked on 'Galaxy Ace' or HTC Wildfire or similarly priced andriod phone.
  13. Do you loose out as a Sikh with an andriod phone in comparison to an iphone? As far as Sikh apps are concerned (and only Sikh Apps), which is better, the iphone 3G or new Galaxy Ace or HTC Wildfire, and any other new andriod with a big screen?. This is just regarding Sikh apps like: Sikhi to the Max (can you get this on andriod?) Gurbani Anywhere (can you get this on andriod?) Sunder Gutka (can you get this on andriod?) and any other Sikh apps or radia stations available via wifi on andriod?. Remember, we don't need to discuss other apps, just those Sikh apps, with regards to reading of Gurbani on the phone in particular.
  14. Other than my Gurus, from Guru Nanak Dev Ji to Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Guru Granth Sahib Ji, telling me to keep my Kes, I can't say I know all the reasons for keeping my Kes. I know that my Gurus have told me to keep my kes, and am still not sure who it was who told us to cut our Kes??? You know, who was it who told us to go to the barbers to get our hair cut, and then get it thrown on the dirty floor, and then get it swept up by a dirty broom (in between the cigarette breaks being had by the hair dressers) etc etc, who told us to do that??? We know for a fact, without any shadow of a doubt, that all 10 Gurus kept their Kes, so it was not a pointless ritual, as our Gurus never followed pointless rituals. Anyway, like I say, I don't know all the reasons, other than my Gurus telling me to keep my Kes. But what I do know for sure, is that I love my Kes, and thank my Gurus for giving me the Hukam to keep my Kes. I would feel like I lost one of the most important things in my life if my Kes were cut now. I haven't got the bravery of the great shaheeds in our history like Bhai Taru Singh Ji, or those that kept their Kes when there was a ransom on every Kesdhari's head, neither have I got the bravery of the infant Sahibzadeh (infant sons of Guru Gobind SIngh Ji) who all gave up their lives rather than have the hair cut. However, I now understand why the wanted to keep their Kes, I certainly feel the Kes Vaheguru Ji makes grow on my body are priceless. I love the Kes Vaheguru has given me, and would never be without them. I love my Gurus for giving me the permission to keep the Kes Vaheguru blessed me with! Do I need anymore reason to keep them than that??!! And has for my Dastaar, that's just finishing things off perfectly. Sorry, I love that too !! Apologies to all the Sikhs one here, I know I shouldn't have pride in my appearance, but I'm sorry, I just feel a thousand times better with Kes, than I did without Kes, and I felt brilliant when I didn't have Kes. So thank you Guru Ji, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have my Kes - Thank you!!! By the way - I thought Kes were alive, because they divide and multiply (as in cells divide and multiply), which is the definition of something living. Dividing and multiplying. Don't they grow in the same way as a living plant? A Plant has a root underground and grows above the ground. Isn't is the same with hair, with it's root in the scalp, and it grows above the scalp. We don't believe plants feel pain when you cut them, but that doesn't mean that they are not living plants.
  15. Both channels have spread the message of Sikhi, through Gurbani, Kirtan, Katha, and Gurmantar. However, as far as the Single most biggest unresolved issue for Sikhs is concerned, 1984 and the problems in Punjab, both Channels have not been able to carry out what is required to bring Success. There are many, many clear Vidoes of Maahpurkh Brhamgyani Sant Jaranail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, and the Mahaan Shaheeds who stood for truth in the face of oppression and injustice until the very end! If both channels starting playing these vidoes and tapes (maybe with relevant photos) everything would fix itself. For two Sikh Channels not to be playing the vidoes and tapes of the Greatest Sikh the world has produced in the last 100 years seems really odd to me. I know Sangat tv played some videos of Sant Ji on a Sunday a while back. Both Channels should be airing Sant Ji's Videos. Why not bring the best the Sikhs have had to offer for well over a hundred years, Sant Ji, to the World?

  17. 18. Do you want to Stop Izhar Alam of Alam Sena in his tracks? Then why not sign this petition. Please ask all your family and friends to sigh this petition too: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/stop-alamsena/
  19. I didn't know about this. Is there any chance you can put link to the video on utube on this thread?
  20. Sorry, I thought that we were not supposed to forget 84, isn't that why we have websites like the following: http://www.neverforget84.com/ I am not referring to people in general, I'm just saying the Sikhs should remember, after all, it was 250,000 of their own people who have dissapeared since 84. I know that certain elements always make us try and forgetting, for example in the last June, it was the GOI Agents in the Dudley Gurdwara Committe who distracted us from June 84. And this November it was the other famous GOI Agent Niddar the Giddar who did the 'distracting' at his BCC interview and website posting to disctract us from Nov 84 Genocide of the Sikhs. They always do it, the timing is so obvious. I am only asking Sikhs to remember those Sikhs who were raped, burnt, tortured, murdered in Nov 84, Just the Sikhs, nobody else!
  21. The new News reporting on Sangat tv (day&night news) does seem to be very professional and a notch above! They just reported that on 1st November, when everybody is supposed to remember the November 84 Genocide of Sikhs, today, in the Punjab, they decided to hold and open the World Kabbadi Cup Games where they had a massive firework and showcase opening event like they do at the Olympics. Only to rub salt further into the wounds of the families of the Shaheeds of 84, they had half naked women too, who were made to wiggle their bottoms at the camera, to really mark the murders of the thousands of Sikh children, women and men, who were raped, beaten, burnt and murdered, on this day, the Nov 1st, 1984! Everybody saw they above on Sangat tv. Well Done Sangat tv for bringing this news to us, as painful to watch as it was. Looks like Sangat tv are planning to fearlessly follow the truth!!!! Just more proof that the opressors of the Sikhs are still laughing at the SIkhs - let alone giving the Sikhs Justice!

  23. I remember that Sangat TV filmed a vigil from Birmingham last year. Is it happening again, if so, what's the date? Wouldn't it be a very respectable effort if all the cities with Sikhs, from all around the world, did this vigil on the same night? and all of the sikhs sent their videos to Sikh Channel and Sangat TV for them to edit and air on their stations. To every Sikh who remembers the Victims of 84 and gives their Mann, thann, and dhann to help the remaining families of the shaheeds, or to get justice, I touch your feet out of respect !!
  24. Great Suggestion!!! - I hope Sikh Channel obtain the names from a Freedom of Information request. I hope Sikh Channel use the Freedom of Information requests for all issues concerning Ofcom.
