I am shocked that no one has continued on this thread - or lost interest. Sikh channell have housed a number of the homeless youth including the one with a leg wound been sent for treatment. They were interviewed on the channel las tnight around 10:30pm Youth such as Bhai SUKH SINGH here are brilliant at cricising and passign judgement - now eat your own words anyone criticising the sikh channell. The have done a brilant job and continue to do - if anyone can donate do it and speak to them directl. I spoke with them they eeven have some lawyers who are wiling to help the immigrants with their cases etc. SHAME ON CRITICAL PEOPLE PASSING JUDGEMENT WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE FACTS. hsd1 - i agree with you 100% when i mentioned our grandfathers i meant in a context of their nature of being friendly and willing to help out the needy at their own cost. This kind of thinking has dissappeared as you just menitoned the sikh channell offered choclates instead gettting that youth attended by medical staff etc.

Facts are : 1. illegal - drugee- alcholic- or whatever - they need help either with food or deportation. 2. The problem is no one including the sikh channel or any other sikh insitiution will go far enough to help solve the problem. So what shoud be done- , Gurdwaras have enough funds for marble floors and doing nagar kirtans twice a year but nothing for these folks. No matter which way you look at it - it is a shame as the sikh community has become rich they have also become heartless. If this was 50 years ago when a majority of your forefathers,grandfathers came - they would help each other out till resolved. Now the next generation sitting on warm seats hav time to talk about it on threads but no time to actually help out and resolve this situation. The amount of money the gurdwaras run in the middlesex area they could do it and resovle this with fraction of their income. The Gurdwaras were built by the previous generations - now the next thing is for them to be transistional in a sense where they are ready and willing to help out the community.
