  1. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh To be liberal or not to be liberal. To change or to stay the same. What works for our culture? What not? Things that looks fine for us today will be considred backwards 50 years from now. What will you say if your great grandkids says marriagfe is not required for 2 partners to live together and have a child. Better yet, their grandkids will suggest that's even backwards, one should be able to share partners with others and have children with anyone. Something to think about. Gurfateh
  2. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh Talking to a Bangoli friend of mine, according to him, Bangladesh never wanted to part from Pakistan and the 90,000 Pakistan soldier that surrendered were not ready to die for East Pakistan. And the first democratically elected Bangladesh was never a recognized country until the Military overthrew the goverment and came into power. Things to think about. Gurfateh
  3. I have to say, these Yahoo videos aren't collobrating with his messages either cheating sai baba search on yahoo video
  4. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh In the first video, if you watch carefuly, after recieving the first envelope, his right hand goes to the bottom side and grab something from his left. This he kept between his right thumb and palm and he perform the *magic* after the second envelope. In the second video, its is so obvious he's pushing something into his mouth with his left hand. Why don't this guy go and perform real miracles, go and produce rain where there is drought, make bread drop from the skies for those who're hungry, or coins for those who are poor and in debt. Seems like he takes more than he gives. Gurfateh
  5. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh Happy Vaisakhi to everybody.
  6. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh Spike Lee's intention, IMO, is to show bigotry and racial prejudice that exists in the Western countries. 5 years after 9/11 and most are still ignorant. There is a thin line between being patriotic and bigotry, most can't tell which side they are on. Gurfateh
  7. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh Anybody knows where I can download this video that I found from this site? Thanks in Advance. Gurfateh
  8. How did someone like this became the spokemen of Sikh in UK (I'm assuming that from the video title). Looks like he had a couple of shots before the interview.
  9. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh LionKing, consider there were no papers available during Muhammad's time....most of the revelation were written on other mediums such as leafs, clothes etc. The Quran that we have in current form (hardcover paper) came much later after the prophets time. An islamic friend of mine himself told me this, that Quran were written hundred of years after the prophet. Where do we know, what was revealed and what was added...only God knows, but when it comes down to praying, no matter what religion you are, you can be truly connected to God in many languages and many religions. Dissing one's religion is counterproductive to such effort. Gurfateh
  10. By dissing Islam we're directly insulting pious muslims such as Baba Farid, Mian Mir, Ghani and Nabbi Khan etc.... friends understand what you're saying.
  11. Prem, I was merely responding to the theme of your response saying the responsibility lays solely on us for things that not in our control... as you said, I know we have a problem, but its not a Sikhi problem, its an Indian problem, just like the female fetocide article you posted. The same goes for bride burnings too. Do you know which state has the highest bride burning in India? Its uttar Pradesh and it occurs year after year.
  12. Prem, in this case what are you doing for case of murder and rape of christian nuns by hindus in India? This did not happened 50 years ago, but is happening right now....shall we make a movie out of that?
  13. This is the first time I'm reading Sikhs raped Muslims girls during partition. Isolated incident, may have happened, but I need to see some reference. People tend to forget, our population is so small compared to the others and yet it always look like we are the one that causes all the troubles. *Still waiting for a reality made Operation Blue Star and how thousands of innocent pilgrims were killed on that day.* Gurfateh
  14. Greetings, Is the earth really 6,000 years old? Was Eve created out of Adam's Rib and hence all women are inferior to men? Is there such thing as a chosen race and all others will work to serve them in the end times? Where will an amazonian man born in 0 bc go to? heaven or hell? TIA
  15. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh, We're all Sikhs here, which means learn. We accept Guru Granth Sahib Ji as our living guru, not simply as a holy book. When we have questions, we ask our Guruji. As its has been stated before, use GuruJi as gold standard. If we discover any bani's contradicting to what our Guruji is preaching, do we not have a right to ask questions on it? Gurfateh
  16. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh, I came across this site, I need sangat's opinion on this matter greatly. Bachittar Natak Gurfateh
  17. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh I thought we yawn because we're bored...heenna ? :WW: Gurfateh
  18. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh What about Milk? It says if we drink Milk, we're supporting the veil industry....we were encouraged to drink milk by our Guru but what should someone living in the west do? Especially someone like me who loves milk .... Gurfateh
  19. Hehe, ok here's a $64 dollar question, when it comes to eating products for their taste, is there any difference between alu-gobi paneer curry and an engineered meat with no suffering attached to it. Gurfateh
  20. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh To me, the fact that Guruji traveled across the continent to middle east, india, lanka and tibet in his lifetime is a miracle by itself. There regions in Sikkim that are difficult to be reached by trekkers, yet there is Guruji's foot print in there itself. Like Guruji said, Akal Purakh is timeless, and his message is timeless, so there is some commonality between His messengers that he sent over time. Guruji might have traveled to rome, he might have not. Whether the vatican is supressing the documents or not is not important. What is important is each one of us has Guru in our heart and on our minds. The Muslims said Guruji went to Mecca for Haj. The Hindus said Guruji went to Banares for Hindu pilgrimage. I'm very happy, everybody loves my Guru and wants to make Him one of theirs. Gurfateh
  21. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh This is how hate starts, get trapped into the cycle of it; all whites will see Sikhs bad and all Sikhs see whites as racist, neither is true. Gurfateh
  22. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh, First of all I apologize if this comes about as another eat meat or not debate...it is not (I'm a vegetarian btw). This is something regarding what I saw on CBS 60 minutes program yesterday evening. In it a segment regarding meat being engineered in labs through some process....long story short...no animals is slaughtered in the process and I can't seem to find the link (will post it as soon as I find it  ). Anyhoo, what is sangat view of food (mainly meat) genetically grown in labs as compared to veg food? Edit to add: Found the link! Watch Test Tube Meat Debate Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh
  23. Waheguru Jika Khalsa, Waheguru Jiki Fateh Got in through this Linky Link Gurfateh
