  2. Are you saying that there shouldn’t be pictures of Baba Deep Singh Jee, Bhai Gurdas Jee, Baba Buddha Jee, Chotte Sahibzadey in gurdwara's too? Surely your naïve logic could be applied to Guru Gobind Singh Jee when they were surrounded at Anadpur for 8months...did the Khalsa not fight from inside the kila for 8months...its called strategic fighting. The Khalsa of the past were far to superior and intellectual to fall for this bravado nonsense...they fought all battle’s strategically. By assuming all Khalsa did was just run into every battle without any thought is just sheer insult!!! When Guru Jee and the 40 sikhs were outnumbered enormously a Chamkaur Sahib, they could have just all walked onto the battle field at straight away without any strategy...but they didn’t...there is a reason. The Singh’s inside Sri Darbar Sahib too were outnumbered and used intellect and strategy. Its sheer stupidity to say "why didn’t they just walk out onto the battlefield" - it totally shows your level on intellect!
  3. Bhagat Singh is a douta of my village ie his mum was from my village and i asure u that no-one is more proud of Bhagat Singh than the people of my village, particularly my family....every year a Sri Akhand Paath Sahib is done in hounour of his Kurbani by my village in UK. While i respect Shaheed Bhagat Singh very much, but for me and my family...Sant Jarnail Singh was a Grusikh...no he is not a Guru but he was a chardikala, rehitvaan, abhiyaasi, naam rasia Sikh of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. The only murderers of those innocent Sikhs are your masters, the Indian government. Tell me why is it that when the hundrends of Sikhs in the Indian army who came to "free" Sri Harmandir Sahib (as they were falsely told), actually ended up turning on the army themselves after they saw the loot, murder and rape of innocents people taking place by the very same Indian Army! Dhan Guru, Dhan Hai Guru De Pyare
  4. JalandharSher, I’m only going to pick out a few of your points. Guru Gobind Singh Jee writes in Shaster Naam Mala…”As Kripan Khando Kharag Tupac Tubar Ar Teer, Saif Sarohee Saihthee, Yehai Hamre Peer” Guru Jee lists a few shasters that he is a sacrifice to in it. I ask, what does “Tupac” mean? It means Gun, this indicates Guru Jee used guns on the battle field himself...else why would he praise the gun? Also “Teero Tufango bado ramjango, Tamak Taar Aneear Kamand Korarar, Panj Shaster Parvaan”..here Guru Gobind Singh Jee refers to the panj shashter a tyaar bar tyar Khalsa should have in battle as a minimum. What is Tufango? It’s a rifle. Now JalandharSher, are you going to tell me that you know more than Guru Gobind Singh Jee and can tell Guru Jee that he was wrong to use the gun or rifle? According to the points listed above...there is no objection what so ever to use a gun/rifle to protect oneself or protect others according to Gurmat!Regarding Sant Jarnail Singh, you are entitled to your opinion but the panth has accepted Sant Jarnail Singh as the Greatest Sikh of the 20th Century and up until now, no panthic jathebandi has challenged that. Also, Sri Darbar Sahib Museums contain paintings of Sant Jarnail Singh. If you have an objection with this all, then as a Sikh you have every right to take it up with Sri Akhaal Takht Sahib or are you just all talk?!?
  5. All religions are respect worthy but definitely not equal. The way i see it is that other religions have glimpses of truth but Gurmat is complely True. If all paths were the same and equal to Gurmat then that would indicate that all the prophets of all the world religions are equal to Guru Nanak Dev Jee. I strongly suggest everyone read Sant Gurbachan Singh Bhindranwale's katha of Japjee Sahib which was compiled into a Granth by Sant Kartaar Singh. In the beiginning Sant Gurbachan Singh talks of the 6 types of Avtars (messengers) and then finally says that Guru Nanak Dev Jee doesn't fit into any of the 6 as he was above the Avtaarhood. Sant Jee then goes further to compare both Sri Krishan Bhagvaan & Sri Ramchandar Jee with Guru Nanak Dev Jee and how they both cannot be compared with Guru Nanak Dev Jee. All religions/paths are not equal..and cannot be equated as equal to Gurmat!
  6. STTM 2 is an amazing tool but as its been used more and more in Gurdwara', i do however feel that the literal translations ie Akhree Arths can cause alot of confusion for youth without further explanation. Having seen Sri Japjee Sahib on STTM on an Akhand Paath Bhog, i've been bombared with questions because the literal translations require further discussion. Now if someone doesn't have access to a Gursikh then i'm certain it will leave them very very confused. A Hindu once attended a Akhand Paath Bhog and after having read the translations below was convinced that Sikhs had to be Hindu's "Gur Essar Gur Gorakh Bharma Gur Parbatee Maee" The Guru is Shiva, the Guru is Vishnu and Brahma: the Guru is Paarvati & Lakhshmi What i have noticed is that the Panjabi Translations are not so literal and go into more detail. Does anyone know if there is going to be a newer version of STTM and will it contain more detailed English transltions? If not, is there another tool like it that can be used in the gurdwara and has more detailed English translations?
  7. A Gursikh i know once met a very humble, yet very devout Tibetan Monk (Lama) who had come to the UK. The Gursikh went on to ask the Buddhist Monk, the reason why they shave their heads and do not maintain their kes (hair). The Monk replied that Buddha is the only perfect being and as a result only he is worthy of maintaining Kes and out of respect for Buddha and his authority they don't feel worthy to keep their Kes and cut their kes. Hence why all purantan Buddha Statues in India have Buddha with a Joora or top-knot. Even Buddhist realised the greatness of Kes!
  8. alias regarding joyt/samagree/toof/chaur sahib i toally agree that these are acceptable but arti with a thaal is manmatt! At first i thought it as okay but having read Sant Gurbachan Singh's Gurbani Paath Darpan, Sant Jee categorcally states that it is manmatt to do arti with a thaal.
  9. An insiteful article about the leamington spa gurdwara situation http://www.panthic.org/articles/5362
  10. Is Sikh Channel's manmatee stance against the Satkaar campaign sevadaars still the same?
  11. i totally agree...Very well written email!!! Please keep us all posted on the response you get back from the BBC
  12. Ramdev is playing a very political game indeed. His own assests/land accumulated by wrongful means is coming under scrutiny and the local people in Hardwar are fully aware of his thuggish activities to accumulate the large amounts of land from them illegally and now they're standing up...Ramdev is trying to detract everyone's attention from his illegal activities. He's trying to make himself out to be on a holy crusade inorder to hide his true agenda...Sikhs need to stay away from this fake!
  13. One of the suggestions raised by a Singh on stage at the rally was that even simple things can help...such as sending postcards to Prof Devinderpal Singh Bhullar. Does anyone have an address where people can send the postcards to? The Singh on the stage said that the address will be shared later...can anyone help in getting prof jee's address? Thanks
  14. I don't think its a matter of being scared but being strategic and clever about gaining as much public support/recognition - now we need to really step up our game and begin to 'play the game tactfully. The world doesn't care for our cause but its now time we make them care through our intelligence! On the day we should be very conscious regarding the image we portray to the world...as our main is much greater (Khalistan). Public opinion can and will help our cause, so having union jacks can only be a benefit for us.
  15. If this isn't slave like mentality...then i don't know what is? Here we have a person who claims to be Sikh but is actually putting worldly law above his Guru's hukam...and all just to satisfy his lust for worldly pleasures!!
  16. I just recently went to visit my cousins who live in Moranwali in Punjab. Now i know everyone in UK is aware that Tarsem Singh held a huge smagam in Moranwali as its constantly been aired on Sikh TV. Well after the samgam, my cousins told be that 15 goats were decapicated (chatka) and eaten. All the villagers were furious at this beabdi...now whether he ate it is debateable but he surely was more than happy for this sacrielage to tke place and my cosuins from the pind told me that the whole pind says that Tarsem Singh has been told not be bother coming back to the pindi or else... The most ironic thing is that even the non-Gursikhs and non-Sikhs of the pind agree that mahaa beadbee took place...chalo - "ape beej ape he kaee"
  17. This class is absolutely amazing and bringing so many youth into Sikhi! This can in no way be tolerated!
  18. i just want to say that this app is amazing and such a good way to engage with kids and elders alike...but especially kids. Please keep updating this app with more questions and more functions. Well done to the creators! Dhanvaaad!
  19. Thanks for this jeeo! A bentee, there's alot of youth that want to read books in english but we're not always too sure which books are legit from an itihashik or gurmat perspective - could you please upload as many inspiration kosher books too...dhanvaad
  20. I spoke to a couple of school kids (in UK) and in RE the creation on the World is only taught from Jewish, Christian, Islamic, Hindu & Buddhist perspective. When the kids asked why wasn't the creation of the world taught from a Sikh perspective and the teacher told them that Sikhism & Hinduism have the same view of creation. Is this true? If not, then whats the difference?
  21. This video is a priceless gem!!! I think it would be an amazing seva if someone could add translations in English as to what Sant Ji is saying (as there's alot of gyan he's shared in it)...this then could be shown to Sikhs and non-Sikhs. If only i knew how to do it i would but i don't
