Resolution Seeking Recognizing of Saka Nakodar Day Introduced in US Congress
February 9, 2022 | By Sikh Siyasat Bureau
WASHINGTON, DC: Recently, U.S. Congresswomen Zoe Lofgren (CA-19) and Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18) introduced legislation to recognize February 4 as Saka Nakodar Day to commemorate the 1986 police killing of four Sikh men participating in peaceful religious protest in Nakodar, India.
“Not a single perpetrator has been brought to justice to date,” notes the Resolution. “The United States is an advocate for the democratic and human rights of all people and stands in solidarity with the families of the victims of the Nakodar incident.”
In addition to failing to hold perpetrators accountable, the Punjab State government has also obscured relevant parts of a judicial commission inquiry report into the incident. As long-time members of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, Reps. Lofgren and Eshoo have been strong advocates for human rights and religious freedom around the world.
The South Bay, which Reps. Lofgren and Eshoo represent, has one of the largest Sikh populations in the country and is home to the largest Sikh Gurdwara in the world outside of India – the Sikh Gurdwara of San Jose

UK seems a mess. RIP no future for sikhs in the west. Sikhi can only emerge back from punjab now. If punjab gone then it's over
USA seems more a mess than here. Over here, we see there's a lot of Canadian Sikhs who are kattarh.
A lot of the kharkhu and associated families left Panjab to go Canada , especially Toronto/Brampton area
I have family of family who live near Niagra Falls - you know that area ?
Canadian Sikhs can be strong

Sikh activists block Capt. Amarinder’s bid to hold public rallies in Canada
April 22, 2016 | By Sikh Siyasat Bureau
Toronto: Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh has reportedly cancelled his political rallies in Toronto and Vancouver. The move came in wake of an advisory issued by the Canadian foreign ministry.
Capt. Amarinder, who is on a political tour to USA and Canada, was set to hold political shows in Canada. A human rights group, Sikhs For Justice, was making efforts to block Capt. Amarinder’s bid to hold public functions in Canada.
SFJ has raised the matter with the Foreign ministry of Canada after which the representatives of Canadian government reportedly took up the matter with the authorities in Indian High Commission.
Toronto-based law firm Goldblatt Partners, on behalf of the SFJ, has sent a memorandum to foreign minister Stephane Dion, claiming Amarinder Singh’s visit will violate a circular issued in September 2011 wherein the department stated it will “not allow foreign governments to conduct election campaigns in Canada or establish foreign political parties or movements in Canada”.

I think we should make prisoners do productive labour that makes profit so they\re not just sitting there and wasting tax payers money. This way we make money from prisoners.of course the work should be safe enough were security can easily control roudy situations and work that doesn't give them a lot of oppurtunity to escape. I was thinking maybe making the mine or chop trees,or even set up assembly lines for something. What do you guys think?
Bump
I started a related thread last year
What I would say to your opening post is that there are a fair number of prisoners who should not be there
Should someone like Jagtar Singh Jaggi be doing 'hard labor'?
@Kau89r8 what do you think?
@GurjantGnostic I have seen on TV here in UK that USA has a massive economy generated from prisoners, and that's an agenda for why they have many prisoners ?

Starting small to let help sleep schedule adjust in a few days, and to feel less tired so you can start going for longer. Small win, but a win non the less. Going back to sleep now.
My non-medical opinion and speaking from experience, don't force yourself to sleep by going to bed when you do not feel like sleep. You should be asleep within minutes rather than staying in bed for more than 20-30 mins. Get out and do something like walk or read a book (not screen) then try again

What is Islam winning against ?
2 minutes ago, proudkaur21 said:Winning against every religion since even when they intermarry they will assimilate the non muslims 90% of the time.
That's what I thought, but Sikhs are in much smaller number. Islam seems to be 'winning' against Christianity though,

Sikhi has more 'extreme' (disciplined ) adherents relatively, abroad compared to Panjab though.
I think a lot more proportionally, of newer Sikh immigrants in Europe, seem to be into Sikhi compared with in past.
Where in Canada are you ?

Even sadder is that there are apne men who end up with interfaith marriages, getting suckered into their wives culture (noticed with hindus because it common here) This why islam stay winning..
Are hindu/Sikh weddings common there in Canada? I imagine that would be awkward with families esp with politics in Canada and whole 'KHaLiStAni TerRorism' unless their the Pro India Punjabi types and find Sikhi 'extremists'

Dally like many of us are part of the older segment of the Punjabi diaspora.
However, since the explosion of regional cinema and the mass migration of Punjabis since 2000, these newer migrants are now the dominant segment of the Punjabi diaspora.
They dominate the cultural narrative and the cinema reflects that.
Us older segments are now sidelined from Punjabi mainstream.

Know Hollywood does a lot of research before making movies to decide whether a movie will target intended audience
I agree with @dallysingh101that the movies are 'dumb' a lot of the time. Panjabis do like comedy
But @Ranjeet01 , did movies such as these appeal to you and your generation growing up?

Regarding Amritvela, I could not find the historical source for this. Perhaps you could enlighten us?
Do your type of Hindus not believe in Amrit Vela ? I thought it was a shared Dharmic feature

The Khalsa was created primarily to remove the oppressive and murderous Moghul regime that had already taken the lives of previous Gurus, including that of GGSji's father. Nothing to do with wanting to be different from Hindus. However in order to appeal to non Khatri castes, it was necessary to create special rules.
I have it on good authority that Guru Nanakji did indeed convert to Islam. But the person disclosing this has stated he will never reveal the whole truth about Sikh history as it will be explosive. However part of the Great Reset should mean the Truth will be revealed if anyone asks for it. Let's hope so.
Please give us some background on who you are ? Are your family from Panjab? How old are you approximately?
What type of Hinduism do you follow ?
Why are you so keen to promote alternative views that no-one here believes?

Sikhism was never meant to be a new religion but an additional Dharmic path.
Hindus can 'Hindu' if they want to. Maybe Sikhi did not start off as completely separate, but that I think is why, Dasam Patshah established the Khalsa, to make it very clear that Sikhs are distinct from 'Hindus' even if they share a lot in common. Just as you would not say to a Muslim/Christian/Jew that they are all the same.
On 2/5/2022 at 12:19 AM, Suchi said:It is certainly Not Hindus that are anti Sikh. It is Muslims and Christians (esp British) that were responsible for the destruction of the Sikhs. Hindus have always treated it as one of the Dharmic Paths. None of the 10 Gurus declared a separate religion. All took much of the teachings from texts that were already present.
However with the rise of China and Islam there is a need to ensure the unity of India that the breaking India forces are determined to destroy. This is understood by the majority of all Indians.
Again, the Khalsa Panth ? And the Hindus in India would be happy for Sikhs to be on the frontline of any battles/wars.
On 2/5/2022 at 1:11 AM, Suchi said:Hence we were caught by surprise by the Islamic hordes attacking during the night. To respond to this challenge we had to create a new policy to deal with this menace.
Hence probably why Sikhs are required to wake after midnight to pray so they are ready for any impending attack. Furthermore, Sikhs are required to never remove their Kirpan, hence be ever ready for battle. These rituals are still practised today according to my understanding.
However, in my view there is a fundamental flaw in the teachings. That is to help the enemy who is down in battle, in the belief we are all One. The other was not to take land that had been captured from the enemy. Hence it seems more of a suicide mission as most, if not all, the fighters were killed and more Hindus were forced to join to boost the Fauj.
That was until Banda Bahadhur joined the Khalsa, who was a Khatri versed in battle with proven spiritual powers that he used in battle following his agreement to come out of retirement and fight for GGSji. He vanquished the enemy very quickly and recaptured stolen land for which he was reprimanded by GuruGobind Singhji wife who had made a pledge with the Moghul ruler who had promised her son would be rewarded.
Furthermore, as Guru Nanakji had already attempted to appease the Muslims by declaring 'We are All One' and creating a new panth based on Sufi/Bhakti philosophy, this edict was followed by Guru Gobind Singhji which he could not veer from.
The Bhakti teachings are not suitable for a Fauj/Army that has to protect its population and secure its borders. War is about killing the enemy not helping them when they're losing!
I'm aware that Maharaja Ranjit Singh did capture alot of land but it seems he was outmanoevered by the British who infiltrated his army, double crossed him and destroyed his entire family.
The reality is that the British were joined at the hip with their European partners via their various secret societies which we are only just learning about. Hence why French, German and other nationals were working in tandem to overthrow Indian hegemony using any number of subversive tactics in a total transfer of wealth and assets to the whole of Europe and then USA.
It's for Amritvela to do Paath and Simran primarily.
The underlined paragraph is interesting, I think someone better versed should respond.
I don't think the Gurus cared for 'appeasing' Muslims.
On 2/5/2022 at 1:37 AM, Suchi said:At present we are under an attempt to make a One World Religion seemingly based on Islamic teachings. These teachings are dictatorial and probably most suitable for the AI Slavery System being forced on us.
Would be interested to know more on this. Not heard this before.
On 2/5/2022 at 4:39 AM, Suchi said:I have read that he might have converted to Islam as only declared Muslims are allowed in the Kaaba and that his body was taken by his Muslim followers and buried as a result. We know it was never found.
If this is true, then with whom do the allegiance of Sikhs lie as later they were forced to fight and kill the very same people.
It is interesting that the Sikh symbol today is the exact same as on the Iranian flag. So why would that be?
Could it be that the origin of Guru Nanak ji was indeed Persia (I understand he hailed from the Bactria region that has Persian ancestry). Or he became attracted to Sufi Islam and hence converted? If so, it would certainly be problematic for Hindus and their Dharmic faith as they have spent almost a thousand years to get rid of this menace which they are still facing.
Would it shake your faith if, indeed, this were true? Where would your allegiance lie? Where would this put the position of GGSji who was actually forced to form a Fauj against the people that Guru Nanakji had, in good faith, embraced?
Nope. Guru Nanak Dev Ji went in the appearance of a Haaji but it was known to those there, that they had come from India.
I think the remainder of your post is trolling.

Statues like this are 'sitting ducks'; maybe learn a lesson not to spend time on them
I think the culture over there as per below unfortunately means those such as Nirmal Singh are taking it too seriously. Reserve energy on our Gurdware and their associated lands
QuoteChief Khalsa Diwan president Nirmal Singh said: “If this idol has been removed then it is reprehensible. Earlier, the statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in Lahore was damaged by some mischievous people. The Pakistan authorities should take stern action,” he said.

It is not just limited to a specific area of Pakistan. There are a huge chunk of them originating from the central Pakistan Punjab region. The groomers in Huddersfield and Oxford were from the Sahiwal and Faisalabad regions of Pakistan (Punjab). Rochdale and Huddersfield are Northern towns that historically saw immigration from the central Punjab (Faisalabad) regions. I can't name the groomers specifically but believe me, some of the most prominent grooming stories in the news have people from Faisalabad involved. I know this firsthand.

Pakistani Punjab culture is hyper-sexual. Look at the "mujra" dancing culture from Pakistan - it stems from Punjabi Muslims. Do you see anything like that in Sikh Punjabi culture? NO. It stems from the fact their culture is obsessed with gender segregation and the men are extremely frustrated as a consequence. In Sikhi we have gender equality.
Lahore is known as the prostitution capital of South Asia.
These Punjabi Muslims are all over tiktok defaming and insulting Sikh women. Look at this page: https://www.tiktok.com/@rated_gabru
I've read comments from some of you saying Punjabi Muslims respect Sikhs. You guys are living in an alternative universe. I believe they hate Sikhs even more so than other Pakistanis because they saw partition bloodshed firsthand and their grandparents have passed on the hate through generations.
In the Northwest of Pakistan, they have the Pashtun culture of Bacha Bazi. Pashtun men are sexually abusing young boys at an alarming rate. One of the Pashtun men casually says he has raped 11 or 12 boys. Utterly alarming.
The country as a whole is messed up.

Thoughts on what will happen to Jaggi Singh Johal?

Global prayers for Jaggi as Scot Jagtar Singh Johal turns 35 in Indian jail
Jasbir Singh Johal, left, father of Jagtar Singh Johal, at home in Dumbarton with his son Gurpreet Singh Johal and his wife Mandip Kaur
FIVE years ago Jagtar Singh Johal’s family sat down with him for a birthday feast of homemade chilli paneer.
His father and grandmother were there, as were his brother and sister-in-law and his young nephews.
The blogger and activist was turning 30 and preparing for marriage – as well as the age milestone, this would be his final birthday as a single man.
But the Dumbarton family didn’t know it would be the last birthday they’d share with him before he’d be taken from his new bride on the street, bundled into an unmarked van and enter what is now considered by international justice charities as arbitrary detention.
But they can and will pray for his release – as will Sikhs in around 50 gurdwaras around on four continents in a co-ordinated day of action.
