  1. Just a couple of questions:- -Should you let the hair of the Chaur Sahib touch your clothes? as i usually let it hang free incase it gets dirty from my clothes but not sure whether i'm being 'too cautious?' -Also, should you touch the Chaur Sahib with a parna or can you touch it with bare hands(presuming their clean obviously). Thank you

  3. These traditional instruments were very common yet they just phased out. But thanks to Gursikh they are making there way back. They weren't exclusive to Naamdhari's, Bhai Balbir Singh i'm pretty sure is from Buddha Dal and he used to play these instrument (i don't think he does now because it's harder to carry around, etc, when you get older). Also, Bhai Avtar Singh is of direct lineage of Keertaniye's from Harmandir Sahib and he has carried on the tradition of playing with the Taus. I'm not knowledgable in the history so you can either ask RajAcademy(primary promoter of Tanti Saaj) and sign up to www.sikhmusic.com and there's plenty of people on there who can answer your q's.
  4. This is really good! just to add these are some stories for older children. http://www.sikhnet.com/pages/sikhnet-stories-children-coloring-book

  8. I think the link may only work for those in the uk.
  9. Giani Mehtab Singh learnt from 'Mindy.' He said to me it doesn't matter if they're Naamdhari because it's necessary to learn these things.
  10. WHy not use both like some Gurdwara's already do. After Bhog, etc, all the Sangat will have langar and as they all go together then they can sit down and be served. If someone comes earlier/later then they queue up. Simples.

  13. Do you know what's the Maryada/ who's performing the seva? I don't want to sound disrespectful but they're all different these days.
  14. It is hard to get up everyday at Amrtivela, which is why it's good to do it don't give up. I think the best thing to do is (i most likely will be wrong) to get up at AV once a week, then twice a week then eventually you will be everyday. It's so much easier if you go to bed early and really concentrate on you Sohila Paath. if your tired in the morning have a cold shower whilst massaging each limb vigorously until it ain't cold anymore, it's not as bad as it sounds. Or you could get up at the same time each day,e.g, 7am, then a week or two later get up at 6am,etc. the trick here is to be constant. Sorry for any mistakes.
  15. "Linda Mcartney" foods, they vege without egg and you can get them from tesco's,etc. it's pretty much vege meat.
  16. I know that one pretty famous Giani can do Japji Sahib in 3 mins. As he is so spiritual that he can slow down time. it's possible, plus you can do Japji Sahib whilst doing seva, etc. Baba Deep Singh was no ordinary person remember.
  17. Also, if you 1 Paath at Sachkhand Hajoor Sahib it's worth 1000. But I personally don't think this should be used to do 125,000 jaap quicker. As Guru Ji said to everyone in Rahairaas, ''Jap Tap Sanjam Dharam Na kamaiaa''
