  1. So, do you think it would break a young Sikh's heart who's trying to find their way in life when their classmate or college roommate tells them that they are going to an everlasting hell just because they aren't a Christian?
  2. Is that Pope Francis? Who is he bowing to?
  3. ਜੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਮੈ ਜੋਬਨਵੰਤੁ ॥ ਸੋ ਹੋਵਤ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਕਾ ਜੰਤੁ ॥ One who deems himself to have the beauty of youth, Shall become a maggot in manure. Sukhmani Sahib, p278 You're not supposed to be proud of your body or beauty. That goes for both men and women.
  4. You've noted the answer right there, but have failed to understand it. For Guru Sahib, gold is the same as dirt. He was the same sitting on the throne and using a rock for a pillow in the Machiwara Jungle. Are you? Or me? No. The reason is we're prone to fall into wanting to impress the world by wearing gold, makeup, and such. So people starting on the path of spirituality are told to avoid that. If you don't want to go on the path of spirituality, what's the problem? Keep on doing what you're doing.
  5. Agreed that sex can become an addition, but that still does not make it a bujjer kurehit. No, it's like saying eat food, but don't overeat. Now, it's not a good idea to overeat, and it will have bad consequences, but it's still not a bajjar kurehit. If you find you are overeating, then stop. Or get help. From a friend, a doctor, or whoever. But you don't have to go pesh because you overindulged in sex with your husband. If you committed adultery, you do have to go pesh.
  6. Hey! Who are you to post a normal, balanced, post of wisdom? This is a forum for flame-baiting. Get with the program.

It's You want to use a story about the Panj Piyare being tough and maintaining "the rules" to defend Panj Piyare violating the rules?
  8. Never heard of "Fateh Doe" before this. Why in the world would a man name himself after a female deer (doe)? The lack of masculinity of our Panth just astounds me. Secondly, why do our people feel the need to imitate black people? Poor imitation at that, and it always will be. Third, as for songs involving kaam, what more do apne bring to the table as far as this? What's the point? Just let Cardi B or whoever sing their songs and call it a day.
  9. Again, why would you even go on that path? 1) First ask your Radha Swami family if they believe in Gurbani. If they don't, you have nothing more to say to them, as if they were Muslims or something. 2) If they say they do believe in Gurbani, ask them to prove from Gurbani that Gurinder Singh Dhillon is Satguru. 3) If they can't, that destroys their Radha Swami faith. 4) Or, if they ask you to prove from Gurbani that Guru Nanak ji is Satguru, you can do that.
  10. Why are you asking who Satguru is, bro? I already told you above that Satguru is Guru Nanak Dev ji. There are plenty of other lines from Gurbani and Bhai Gurdas ji that demonstrate this, which I could reference, but before that, I'd like you to answer: 1) Do you believe Guru Nanak ji is Satguru? If not who is? 2) If you do believe Guru Nanak ji is Satguru, do you just need more references, or what?
  11. Reference @ADMIN or @S1ngh or PM them.
  12. That would make us (and Guru ji) the exact same as the greedy Brahmins that Gurbani denounces. The Brahmin doesn't care how you made your money. He just wants a cut of it. That's not what he means by money laundering. He's not talking about making a $1000 stolen cash donation (black money), and then the Gurdwara buys $750 of your merchandise from your shop. Now you have $750 of "white money" accounted for before the government. And the corrupt Gurdwara committee has $250 in cash plus $750 of merchandise. That's money laundering. Rather, what he's talking about is earning a bunch of money through illicit means (even if they are legal in the country you are in, they may be against the rehit or spirit of our religion). Then you donate a huge amount of money to a Gurdwara, and you become known as the biggest Sikh on Earth. That's what he's talking about.
  13. It's not a matter of Guru ji turning someone away. The question is of Guru ji accepting or not accepting someone's money if it was obtained through unacceptable means. Guru ji did turn people away in that sense. Granted you can't police the one dollar donations in the golak. But you're telling me that's the same thing as a 500 million pound donation? You can't police that?
  14. With the tech available now at affordable prices (even if it wasn't so what?), the SGPC should digitize and also authenticate (digitally sign) everything in sight. Granted, the Punjab Digital Library has done a bunch of good work in this area, but 1) I don't trust them--they are basically SIKHRI. 2) there's no reason that the Panth should have to fund yet another organization when we already fund the SGPC with our offerings at Darbar Sahib. PDL is currently available for free, but you know when they digitize everything, they will start restricting access and start charging money. Why? The SGPC should do it, and then make it available either for free to all, or make it available to scholars.
  15. Sure. As a precaution. But I don't think that would a major concern because you can easily tell the use of new paper and new ink and rebinding.
  16. Are you serious? Can you post a link to that? Amazing that people are willing to buy and sell such portions of our heritage. I don't know who is worse, the seller or the buyer. Was it stolen? What about the buyer? People who would spend money to keep something that they are not entitled to (as opposed to things that Guru ji themselves gifted to various families) and then keep them in secret as talismans of a sort or good-luck charms for their families.
  17. Where did you get that he wants to make someone's life a living hell? He specifically wants a compatible, Amritdhari girl in order not to make her life a hell. He could just marry some random non-Amritdhari girl, he could marry a girl from Canada, but, no, he's trying to get a compatible girl. What's wrong with that? Wow, what's wrong with you? Leave out the "dozens" and insulting phrasing rephrase as: "Life is not only about producing children" Wrong. That's ALL life is about. That's the reason you're here today. The reason the West's population is decreasing is because they've forgotten that. So horrible that Sikhs are aping Westerners in this regard. I do agree that you should dedicate your life to Sikhism, but our religion explicitly is a religion for householders and does not encourage celibacy.
  18. woah..these are dangerous words bro - theres a reason why genuine amritdhari couples revolve themselves around guruji, not each other, four times during anand karaj.. a lot of apne, amritdhari or not, still think like this and end up being controlled and manipulated for the rest of their married lives - might as well see themselves as a little dog on a leash.. imo a so called 'singh' can be tamed by their so called 'kaur'..in good times and bad..but they should never be controlled by them. There's a funny story in the Sau Sakhi where Guru Gobind Singh ji asks some Sikh where his Sikhni is, and then he asks the woman where her Sikh is. Thereby demonstrating that the man is a Sikh (follower) of the woman. And vice versa. So, point taken.
  19. Don't be a gora. It's common for Punjabis to refer to male matches as "boys" and female matches as "girls". Your prefrontal cortex is not even fully developed until age 25. Traditional cultures intuitively know that. Westerners don't know it until they have a 100 scientific studies. The fact is that both boys and girls need the guidance of their parents or in-laws in the time after marriage.
  20. Wow, that's a lot of work by Tejkaran Kaur. I have to say, though 1) it's a bit presumptuous for a 20-year old to claim one's own opinions as being "A little deeper", implying that Prof. Sahib Singh was completely superficial. I say that even though I'm not a blind fan of his translation. A little humility is in order, both for traditionalists commenting on Prof. Sahib Singh, and for missionaries commenting on Taksali/Nirmala works. "A little deeper" would be inappropriate even if she had put in a lifetime of learning, teaching, and practicing of Sikhism, which she certainly hasn't. "My thoughts" or "Some more vichaar" would have been better. 2) People should avoid thinking that Prof. Sahib Singh's commentary is the one and only commentary on Guru Granth Sahib. New learners should read other commentaries, too. Good effort, of course.
  21. No, there isn't, in the way they mean it. Granted, Gurbani says you need a guru. But that the Radha Swamis give the wrong meaning of that to say you need a "living" guru. Of course, though, our Guru is living. What they mean is a Guru made of flesh and bones. If they are saying the meaning of this is that there is a Satguru in every age (jug), then there still is a Satguru ... Guru Granth Sahib ji. It's fine to say that there is still Satguru. Where in Gurbani do they get that Satguru's name is Gurinder Singh Dhillon (the current Radha Swami guru)? Yeah. Tell them, so? You can't find God without a guru. But the only guru worth having is the Satguru (true guru). Gurinder Singh Dhillon is definitely not it. "Without the True Guru, there is not another Guru, and the one without the Guru has a bad name." p434 Ask them to prove that Gurinder Singh Dhillon is the Satguru.
  22. Read Guru Granth Sahib bani Read Dasam Bani Practice Gatka or develop physical strength
  23. Read it. I agree that every historical event has multiple causes. And Chandu was the immediate cause of Guru ji's Shaheedi. It was by his immediate hand or command that the Shaheedi happened. At the same time, it wouldn't do to absolve Jahangir or the Muslim kazis who encouraged Jahangir. Especially given Jahangir's own testimony written by himself.
