  1. No problems veer ji another tip if you are washing more than one dastar at a time get some laundry mesh bags to keep them from wrapping and knotting around each other in the machine .
  2. who arranged the rista ? can they be reached and help in this situation? Honestly if This someone has brought you here have you got your visa to stay or not ?
  3. use the shortest wash cycle on your machine temp 30 or less if possible .I've been using persil purple for years in our home with no spoiling of colours , add the vinegar in with the detergent liquid. If you still have problems Mr Muscle SHOUT stain remover is the next step , this is my go to for all kinds of stains as it doesn't damage fabric or colours . I'm guessing your are talking about about salt tide marks on your dastar , my bro used to have the same problem when he was working in a hot environment .
  4. non-bio usually has extra bleaching agents to tackle stains so will fade a dark dastar My suggestion is liquid colour-friendly biological /delicates detergent and half cup of white vinegar ,wash as per normal , the smells and stain should be released from the material (another plus is the vinegar will help colour retention) . use lukewarm (kosa) water temp. Don't use lemon juice as may bleach when drying if hit by sun .
  5. Nihangs also studied riflemanship trying remembering Guru Pita ji's weaponery , also unarmed combat, wrestling from Guru Arjan Dev ji time . Stop being so snooty ... I'm pretty sure you are still learning just like everyone else but your attitude is very unbrotherlike.
  6. Bro honestly what is your problem ? did you not have a mother or sister growing up , did you never learn to encourage a sister in achieving health and fighting fitness goals , or do you think that women are there to tread down only ? Will it physically pain you to acknowledge that there is some credence to effective warriors of the female gender or is your haumai ruling the roost ? Please realise that many shaheeds have served in regular army before serving Akal's call , it doesn't matter where the training came from did they use it for the correct things after is worth considering. Please explain to the world why it is that despite being the FAUJ why are there NO outreach programs in Punjab let alone elsewhere , where are there no fresh blood training camps not just kids born to existing members ? Doesn't an army need active recruitment?
  7. the way things are going islam and abrahamic faiths are going toe to toe , maybe then as quite a few different people have imagined sikhi will be the language of everyone's heart
  8. but it's not all about strength , it's foresight, reading the situation, quick reactions , speed and agility too , she may fight smarter not necessarily harder ... anyhow needs to be on top form spiritually, mentally and physically . the muscular gap is about 30% , but lower centre of gravity than a taller guy may help her and her natural lower level brings her closer to soft targets e.g. abdomen , underside of chin, throat, under ribcage .(can imagine katar on her fist could eviscerate quickly)
  9. what about the granthis who have been caught in the past trying to mess with ladies and kids ? weren't they amritdhari at the time and using that Bhes to deflect attention and build false credibility?
  10. don't you mean to ensure safeguarding of species until they are able ?
  11. why bro ? are we really so immature to not realise our rehit changed of a period of years before becoming fixed , for those brothers and sisters who say it's keshki/dastaar rather than kesh I can understand your point 1. you cannot lose/drop your kesh so , the rule about doing ardas doesn't apply like other kakkars 2. removing kesh is a whole other level of punishment you are commiting bujjhar kurehit 3. kesh in themselves did not distinguish us as Bhai Jaita ji pointed out as others kept kesh, even though it is pritam rehit of Guru Nanak Dev ji. I read the article yesterday on Tisarpanth's feed and it was well written and in the end it concludes that although we started we 3 tre-mudra it became 5 or more(we were supposed to carry 2 kirpans (shorter and full length) carry 5 shastar etc and of course the hukham was to never go in Guru ji's presence without kesh or shastars) I have been blessed with the sight of Guru Teg Bahadur ji's kara and it was really like a slave bangle thick squarish cross section and un adorned/beautified . I have heard that Guru ji also wore kach (not sure if it was internal family knowledge as I heard it as a kid). Anyway thanks for posting it here too
  12. but is it an accident ? whatever you read is Guru ji talking to you , remember that.
  13. this is true , Guru Nanak Dev ji wasn't some weak pious sadhu he was determined sure warrior for the truth. If you Read really read Guru ji constantly tells you to get up, and stay up , fight the good fight, face down evil and oppression within and without. Dasam Bani gives specific ways to fight but the start of the fighting spirit is in Guru Granth Sahib ji.
  14. time to embrace pita ji's bani wholeheartedly , the rise of the kalyugi mind is upon us ...
  15. some of us don't have the luxury of time what with all the multitasking hehe ... seriously we always had the windows open whenever we cooked back on the estate and did not smell like the bengalis or nigerians (fish curry) . I even had people comment on my lack of smell ... amazing things soap and windows ...
  16. he will listen to sangat if they put pressure on him ... not gangs of angry young men insisting they will extract somethig from him. He's the type to respond to the carrot not the stick...
  17. singhnian greet each other in playground at the end of the day with fateh then ask if they smell of the tardka they have just been cooking. We all know that cooking smells are not great when they cling ... at least we don't smell like boiled cabbage like the white women used to back in the day
  18. perhaps ranjit may be brought back from the brink , people need to get him to sit down and talk ...
  19. Interesting thing is when I was reading up Mata Gujri ji , I read that Mata ji went to Baba Bakale with her Mother in law Mata Nanki ji and her Husband Teg Bahadur ji . Her daily duties was to serve gursikhs langar who came to visit and also to make sure nobody disturb her Husband during his samadhi.
  20. Correction GURSIKHS are loved by Guru ji ... you are a gursikh first and foremost your allegiance is to Guru Granth Sahib ji and Guru PANTH ji (that is ALL gursikhs). Jathe are low down on the consideration just like skin colour, nationality etc REHIT and Shudh Hirda come higher than that , that is what Guru ji sees .
  21. wow Honestly? what happened to the brotherhood and sisterhood the small differences in maryada between the two mentioned jatha NEVER stopped the mutual respect and brotherhood between our mahapurakhs should we not take their example ? Panth is built with love and understanding not nitpicking and hatred ... Leave it to the mudslingers who we recognise as deluded and not serving the panth's betterment to be stupid and mouth off let's not join them please Otherwise they win at their game...
  22. I know right ? How did this actually became a story one landlord says something stupid , he's entitled to select who he/she wants to rent to especially if it's a furnished gaff just like I would never rent to smokers and unclean people.
