  1. gurdwara fights are your problem if you claim SIkhi intercaste predjudice is your problem too because this is anti sikh attitude sikhi means you don't hold yourself seperate from the 'brown' 'yellow' 'red' 'white sikhs , we are all one panth and as for your false premise that we will not be remembered for anything more than GOI's propaganda = Khalistan ...you have fallen into that well yourself .. Our people were attacked in Amritsar and across Punjab because of the water rights we were demanding, the status of Amritsar as a holy city, a nationwide transmitter licence for Harmandir Sahib to transmit kirtan and gurbani across the land of India. so People are fighting for their rights in Dakota , so are we .. we are driving ecological moves , organic farming , Sewa of the destitute across the globe especially where they are abandoned , fighting for individual legal rights of our people . BTW UN is the mouthpiece of the elite agenda , so what they say should be taken with a pinch of salt .
  2. since we are supposed to do kirt for our living this would be anti-gurmat as it is not earned . This is the start of the enslavement of people by controlling their wages , living choices, but you do not have to abandon our dharam .
  3. new powers to be given to disparate govt agencies to snoop to the last detail of our cyberlives http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/investigatory-powers-bill-act-snoopers-charter-browsing-history-what-does-it-mean-a7436251.html
  4. as Bhai Ajmer Singh said this 'book' is distributed for free in India at amrit sanchars .... we need to push real Gursikh authors and translations of their works here for free
  5. The main exceptions to that should be the ones that Guru ji put in hukamnama that gurmukhi should be learnt from a rehitvaan gursikh and I would also think Gurbani kirtan and santhiya . I am not saying one cannot learn and refine raag vidhiya from others but if just learning gurmukhi is supposed to be from a gursikh than I would have thought Gurbani related activities would also need to be from a gursikh .
  6. I had seen them , they are jehovah's witness and are proud to make the effort to learn the maaboli of our peeps to spread 'the good news' . When our own cannot even translate bani/history for our own youth . Until the canadians and the punjabi sikh organisations back in India wake up and do serious parchaar and countermeasures these kind of missionary people will pick off the gullible and unknowing on both sides. Being proud of girls not getting converted to muslims is just foolishand just a sign of the immense haumai problem in Canada , we shouldn't have any sikhs abandoning sikhi anywhere ideally because it really is the best way to live hands down . Honestly these commenters need to be woken up , these bibian are coming to your house to put a cat amongst the pigeons and because we haven't furnish our kids with proper answers we leave them without surety against the doubt peddlars. My sons have told me that the muslims at their college are watching basics of sikhi so they can work on their dawah comebacks ... at the very least our kids should watch those katha and itihaas videos there so they don't get caught out .
  7. . TBHain ji Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh, I know you have landed with a bump back into nowhereland but it does not mean you cannot regain lost ground with Guru ji's kirpa , start slowly building up start with doing Japji sahib by listening to katha and doing much vicharna , ardas for help from Guru ji goes without saying .Take it slowly read itihaas and whenever you can do naam jap, even a few mini sessions add up. +
  8. discussion of NDEs heaven and hell from gurmat angle : http://gurmatbibek.com/forum/read.php?3,15842 http://www.wahegurunet.com/hell-is-real https://www.sikhnet.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3732 http://www.sikhspirit.com/khalsa/news50.htm and a book on prem de teer (arrows of love): https://www.scribd.com/document/70255992/Arrows-of-Love-Prem-Dey-Teer-Naam-Net-Book-1
  9. and they also are Not counted as SIkhs as they use gurbani to entrap aspirant sikhs to following a living person/s instead of Jug JUg Atal Guru Granth Sahib ji
  10. Bro we are not denying the attack and how bad it is , but being shallow and trying to pin it on change of regime makes light of previous attacks and the need to being aware all the time and accepting that there will always be attacks like this no matter whose backside is warming the seat in the Oval Office. You have to be aware of what's going on around you and develop street smarts, the world is not going to have your back most of the time
  11. Michael's books are just jumping on the bandwagon ... of intermittent fasting , you could look online for the same info for free...
  12. Today's hukhamnama is appropriate to this subject:
  13. If we take the hukham to stay niarey and let go of bipraan ki reet , amongst these reets is first cousin and caste based marriages (hindus and muslims do this ) . Your cousin is right we can get married more than once but only have one partner at a time (widow, widower) , what he is forgetting what Guru ji did by marrying more than once is follow agiya of parents and sangat , most of the Guru Sahiban had one mahal. What most people forget is Anand Karaj is marriage of the two souls to paramatma so doing anand Karaj between Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Devan gave her a chadar whilst staying in darbar doing sewa of panth , that was her parents only request and Guru ji never refused a true Devotees plea .
  14. plus you can read Guru Granth Sahib online : http://www.srigranth.org/servlet/gurbani.gurbani?S=y and take a cyber hukhamnama if you wanted advice from Guru ji directly on http://www.simran.info/hukamnama/cyber.html plus some apps have been developed to test knowledge of words in old Gurmukhi grammar from gurbani which modern punjabi speakers may misunderstand (sorry it's gurmukhi mostly): Gurbani Bodh but you have others which give you the daily prayer book , The Nit Nem (nit everyday nem practice) as a visual and others which recite Gur bani for you a little article in english about the Nitnem : http://www.globalgurmat.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Meaning-and-Importance-of-Gurbani-and-Nitnem.pdf
  15. Also in Pali (the language of early buddhism) a sikh is one who have started the journey , which makes sense when we think of how Panth translates to the path...so those who talk of the Sikh Panth are talking of the active travelling through life on the sikh pathway , following the guidance of Guru Granth Sahib ji the revealed dictated word of our One, True Creator.
  16. but then that would make them go against sikh norms of behaviour
  17. they don't seem to realise that there is a translation of Sarbloh granth ji to english from Gurmukhi...and the fact that they are saying they have spent such a long time concentrating on this mahabharata instead of other sikh granth translations makes me wonder have sikhs been paying to produce hindu mythology translations all along
  18. there are loads of internet radio stations giving out Kirtan , Katha (discourse on Gurbani) , TV channels are also available like Sikh channel , Akaal Channel Youtube video channels are numerous like Sikh2inspire, BasicsofSikhi, Caramel Studio, put FB pages on your feed which will post the hukham nama (daily reading of Guru ji's advice) from the different Takhts(thrones) of sikhi, latest sikh news come onto sikh forums
  19. about turiya they are going to put mahabharata translation on sale soon , is this in light of dasam bani /gurmat buddhi or just straight translation of valmaiki?
  20. in summary ? really you cannot spare the time to understand the development and subtleties of the multi pronged attack on sikh within the historical context?
  21. OK all the shootings and beatings happened on Obama's watch and yet now it's because of Trump ?...Please just call it out for it is general Ignorance of the Americans either side of the Aisle .
  22. so you like a religion which says no matter what good you do , no matter how spiritually connected you are you will go to hell if you are not one of them ? One that puts women down as the cause of sin and the downfall of mankind ? That makes women secondary to men ? Little sister, Sikhi is more than confidence based on temporary looks outside , it is the unshakeable love and acceptance of yourself as Waheguru ji made you , it's connecting to your true self - your soul . Waheguru ji sent you at the impossibly low chance of being born with a connection to sikhi , just being born successfully is 1 in 20million. There must be a reason , how about really looking into what Guru Nanak Dev ji says , focus on the message , think on it . Do not be hung up on what you think are restrictions , think about what Guru ji tells you .
  23. if you go with a lengha style seperate top and skirt you can wear it just the same as salwar kameez ...with a long dress just wear it underneath , if you worried about it moving around awkwardly wear a kamar kassa or tight bodice
  24. also directly linking back to how the Bahman had emasculated the willing warriors by telling them their havan hom and yagna rituals would save the nation...in the face of the rampaging invaders...
