  1. If Dhalsim is what he appears to be, that is, a Yogi or a Sadhu, I doubt he'd have a kid in the first place - Hindu ascetics are almost universally celibate. Probably white people making inferences. Brown kid? Brown man? Must know each other.
  2. I like her style, nothing objectionable on her instagram whatsoever. We need more young Sikh representatives in popular culture.
  3. Not attend as a sign of protest? Protest against what veerji? She's not marrying this Hindu in a Gurdwara, there is no beadbi here. Be thankful that she hasn't gone all bridezilla like some other Sikh girls who impose their egos and their manmat on our Guru Ghars. She, a non-Sikh (by virtue of her actions), is marrying a non-Sikh in a non-Sikh place of worship. There is nothing there which should offend the sensibilities of any Gursikh. Have you never attended the wedding of a Hindu/Muslim/Christian intimate of yours? This is no different from that. Go to her wedding, enjoy yourself. Don't let this nonissue ruin such a close relationship brother. All the best, I hope your good sense prevails .
  4. I resent the implication, Jagsaw, that I've arrived at my conclusions about Islam through being brainwashed by the media and politicians.I think I've made my mistrust for them apparent enough on this forum. Radical Islam is the true Islam, and everything I believe about it I derived from my own reading of their appalling history and their nasty Koran. Moreover, you've got it the completely the wrong way round. The media and politicians are precisely the groups who are trying to defend Islam and huddle Muslims beneath the aegis of political correctness. Are Blair, Brown, Bush, Cameron and Obama not the ones who insist time and time again that Islam is a "religion of peace" in spite of overwhelming empirical evidence to contrary? Do you realise that this myth that Islam is tolerant and accepting only entrenched itself in the public opinion because of these men? Does the British Media not absolve Pakistani MUSLIM grooming gangs of their guilt by referring to them almost exclusively as 'Asian' grooming gangs? The politicians and the media are the agents of Islamic apologism, distracting us from the reality that Islam incites its followers to war against unbelievers. And the public is eating it up. Capitalism has its evils, yes, but I defy you to tell me that you, as a practicing Sikh man, would rather live in any Muslim nation than in the United Kingdom. Because Islam simply is worse than capitalism. I'd take a society with dodgy food over one which crushes its womenfolk underfoot, persecutes gays, persecutes infidels and considers criticism of the state religion a jailable offence.
  5. You cannot treat the Bible and the Koran as though they hold equivalent positions in their respective religions. Although Christians believe that the Bible is ultimately divine in origin, they acknowledge that it has also been delivered through fallible human vessels who perhaps distorted or miscommunicated the divine message. This allows Christians a much greater liberty to interpret and pick and choose at their own discretion. But Muslims claim that the Koran is the infallible, unalterable, final word of God himself, letter for letter. So it isn't up for question. Whereas a Christian can ignore the nastier parts of their Bible and still feel as though they are being loyal to their faith, a Muslim cannot do the same in good conscience. To do so is to question God himself, not just an ordinary man like Moses or Paul. Islam is the most destructive force in the world today for a reason.
  6. Lol you have this confusing habit of asking a question and then answering it for yourself immediately. No, being anti-Islam isn't racist because Muslims come in a lot of different colors.
  7. Miss Wynne was honored, as she ought to have been, the Indian media's reports were wrong. By unquestioningly posting their unfounded lies Hundal has shown that he possesses none of the investigative faculties of a real journalist - he's little more than a reactionary regurgitating any old sh1te which suits his agenda like some bloody mother bird. By the way, your homophobia is disgusting and anti-Sikh.
  8. What if a woman is raped and impregnated, forced to carry the seed of one who violated her? Surely some concessions can be made?
  9. Tell that to all the adulterers and spouse-murderers. What is your logic behind this?
  10. Because although Maharaja Ranjit Singh was a great man, he was not a great Sikh. His vain desire to establish himself as the emperor of all Sikhs blinded him to the republican spirit inherent in Sikhi. This period in history was at once the Golden Age for the Sikh people and their lowest point, the moment in time when they were most detached from the values of their faith. The recently formed Sikh nobility was, towards the end of the misl period and throughout the Empire's brief existence, a degenerate body of individuals who placed their power and their legacies above all else - including Sikhi and Panthic Ekta (which is why competing Misls had few qualms about internecine war). Wearing the Sikh Saroop they partook of alcohol, kept harems and courtesans, and endlessly embroiled themselves in intrigue against one another. Maharaja Ranjit Singh did all of these things - he was typical of his social class.
  11. I don't disagree with you about that bro, but your comparing these girls to child rapists was completely over the top.
  12. I think you might have lost the plot. These girls are very, very stupid - they are not evil and they're definitely not worse than paedophiles.
  13. If by end of the world you mean some obsessively spelled-out apocalypse scenario, as is to be found in the texts of most other religions, then no it does not. Sikhi is only concerned with one's spiritual well-being. That is all that religion should concern itself with. Knowing how the world ends, or how it was created, is utterly irrelevant to these matters of the soul, it will not make you a better person. Devotees of other religions, particularly Muslims, like to hold the absence of creation and destruction myths over our heads as though it counted against us and the veracity of our faith. In my mind though the inclusion of these stories in the Bible and the Quran only proves that Jesus and Muhammad were not above lying/telling extraneous tales in order to win converts to their new religions from the ranks of the ignorant.
  14. The Nihang Singhs certainly have brother, there is still a lot of ill feeling in the Dals towards the men who now occupy Akaal Takhat. The false jathedar of the Budha Dal, Balbir Singh, was given his jathedari by the SGPC after the authentic Budha Dal refused to abolish their tradition of Sukhnidaan. The Nihangs, along with the Taksaal, also ignore the (SGPC controlled) Akaal Takhat's continued efforts to have the Nanakshahi calendar adopted universally. You're right, I forgot that for a moment. I also agree that these groups have more things in common than not, though they seem more concerned with bickering over those few differences than with building good relations on the basis of their overwhelming similarities. An AKJ whose maryada has it that eating any meat at all is an abomination and a bujjar kurehat is extremely unlikely to accept the authority of Akaal Takhat if it can disagree with them on a point they consider to be extremely important, such as the issue of meat. These groups should all admit that their respective maryadas are not the authoritative rehats for the entire Sikh world, but peculiar to their own sects.
  15. By rights a resolution passed by Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib against the anti-Dasam faction should be the most powerful strike our qaum is capable of mustering against their movement. That was the situation in our forebears' days. In reality though, all these tankhaiyas are completely ineffective these days because the body which is passing them is weak and lacking the united support of our Panth. Not that I blame Sikhs for withholding their allegiance to such a rotten institution. Even I ignore Gurbachana and everything he has to say about anything. But when the biggest and most influential jathebandia and sampardaay of the Sikh world, the AKJ, the Taksaal, the Nihang Singhs openly ignore the determinations of Akaal Takhat and even set up their own rehat maryadas in direct opposition to Akaal Takhat's own, you can't really expect a group of fringe heretics to take them seriously. What we need is for all these squabbling jathebandia and the rest of the Sikh world to swallow their corrosive pride and unite beneath the aegis of Akaal Takhat once we've expelled the traitors and charlatans from it's halls. Only then, when Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib is once again what Guru Sahib intended it to be, will the tankhaiyas passed against Darshan and his chele have their devastating intended effect.
  16. These things are preordained. Whether he reveals himself to somebody or doesn't, this is his Hukam in any case. Now bearing in mind that Sikhi incites us to nimrata, I ask you, is asking God to amend his Hukam on your behalf an act of humility? The belief that the Almighty somehow owes it to one to give them his darshan is egotistical, that's the truth of it. God owes us nothing, and praying for anything except the power to accept his Hukam, irrespective of whether it makes your life a joy or a misery, is an exercise in vanity. Faith which is predicated on the receipt of rewards is weak and tenuous. The only faith which stands the test of time is that which is honed by adversity.
  17. I'd give Spain a miss. You won't really see anything there that the French or the Italians can't do five times better. If you want a good beach maybe you'd also want to consider one of the islands in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives or Mauritius - best tropical coastlines in the world, except perhaps for the Caribbean.
  18. Yeah, they're doing that because they realize gullible people like you are getting angry over this nonsense and, like typical politicians, they are pandering to your hysterics to protect/increase their share of the votes. The politics of appeasement. The most prudent political move is almost never the most intelligent move, or the most moral. This condemnation of Kultar Singh, although politically astute, is neither intelligent (for god's sake, just read my first post) nor moral (he's done NOTHING wrong).
  19. Why? Read my first post. I just demonstrated how your concerns are totally baseless.
  20. Are you annoyed by the implication by Kultar Singh that Guru Gobind Singh was not a Punjabi, or because your amateurish grasp of language leads you to conclude (wrongly) that saying Guru Ji was born outside of the Punjab, like Kejriwal, suggests that the two are equals? Let me explain with an example - I eat food. As it happens, Guru Sahib also ate food when they were in human form. My pointing this out does not mean I am attempting to draw some equivalence between myself and Guru Sahib. This proves yet again that you can always count on our lot to be manipulated by their devious elected officials into seeing beadbi where there is none. This video is on a channel called Akali Awaaz, can't you see it is propaganda by the SAD to discredit the AAP? And you're eating it right up. And what the hell is with those stupid, sarcastic speech marks? Kultar "Singh"? Twice? The mundane comments in the video above are seriously enough for you to call another Sikh's faith into question? Is that all it takes? This is why panthic ekta won't happen any time soon - because so many Sikhs are willing to disown their own brothers and sisters in faith over NOTHING, over the dumbest most trivial bullsh1t.
  21. This little girl is so consumed by hate that she resorts to dishonoring her own father and GOD himself (that disgusting comment about Allah, one of the names of WAHEGURU, in the red box) just in order to hurt someone's feelings in an online tiff? One of the poorest excuses for a Sikh I've seen in a long time.
  22. I don't know what exactly you think Sukhnidaan does, but drinking/eating cannabis and smoking it do not have the same effect. I did a lot of both in the misguided days of my youth. I have a story about it actually. One day, the pubescent Balkaar was sitting in a circle with three of his weed buddies and telling them about a drink called Sukha/Bhang. The traditional recipe for sukhnidaan prescribes five leaves of cannabis. We had two score bags, which should amount to about the same. I convinced my reluctant mates that it might be interesting if, instead of smoking weed, we might drink it. I prepared it exactly as I'd heard you were supposed to and we all knocked it back. An hour later after the most disappointing high you could imagine, they demanded I pay them each £10 for wasting all that precious weed. It doesn't get you slumped, it just makes you feel funny for a bit. You'd have to drink ridiculous amounts of the stuff to get you as high as a zoot might. The only reasons Nihangs today appear off their heads on it is because they throw in five big handfuls as opposed to five leaves.
