  1. Can a Singh cry at the braveness and the courage of the chottey Shaibsadey, 7 and 9 years old? Or would that be women-style?
  2. es to changitra vi juttiya kha sakde ne?
  3. Does the above not happen in all other countries? Does that mean the country shoudl cease to exist? A country starts from somewhere, and even if it's the bottom, when the Khalsa is free to rule without any interference, I'm sure Maharaj Ji will do full kirpa on everyone. If Sikhs are not ready for a Sikh homeland now, after so much carnage, massacre, so much killings, raping, looting - when will they be? Pretty sad Sikhs still arn't ready for it, even after having a history of carnage, atrocities and blood. Bhull Chukk Maaf
  4. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Although I do not know you personally bhaji, I will write some things that help me  I will post some stuff I suggest you shuld check out bhaji A post by Manvir Singh Khalsa These Audio recordings of English talks are extremely good! As Pheena jee wrote, use this lonliness to reflect, and feel peaceful from within. Some times we need some time to reflect, and think and simply be peaceful. Use that time. My recommendation is, listen to some really soothing Kirtan. I used to feel the same for a while, but suddenly after/while listening to the soothing and peaceful Kirtan, You don't feel that you're alone any more. I used to go for a walk and listen to some really calm Kirtan, and you would suddenly realise that Akal is around you, everywhere. Remember that, Akal Is all around you. Akal is within You. Akal is you Do listen to some peaceful and soothing kirtan, while out on a walk, when you feel lonely at home. See what works for you. Stay in Chardikalaaa! Guru Ang Sang! Remember, your Sangat is eternally with you! Huggies from a brother, far away, yet very near! Vaheguru JI Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji ki fateh
  5. I'm trying to customize the RSS of DiscoverSikhi, and some blogs... but I don't get it how it works..lol :$
  6. I'm a new Firefox user, so I've got a question - How do I customize these RSS thingies? thanks
  7. Please don't buy stuff from Chattar SIngh Jivan Singh, they are responsible for doing beadbi of Guru Ji, THere are many other bookshops just beside the Chattar Singh Jeevan Singh shop, liek Singhbrothers and Khalsa brothers, which are much better... Go and purchase books from these.
  8. Was speaking to some people who went to BOSS Camp. Except duties that are reserved for Panj Pyaarey, (practicly) everything else is allowed by non-Amritdharis. THey can do Kirtan, do langar di seva, washing dishes and everything else (not doign Parkash and Sukhasan, but no-one was allowed to do that, only sevadars did that) Unforuatnly Sukhasan and Parkash Di seva was not taught, and only the camp sevadars did this. All other sevas were open for anybody. Otherwise, Everyone was welcome to do everything. Everyone was welcome to do Simran/Kirtan whatever hour of the day. There is AKJ Kirtan/simran done during various times in the day. Anyone is welcome to do so. Hope that clears up for you.
  9. Do ardaas, and speak to your wife about it. Telll her how Sikh means a lot for you, and how you want you child to follow Sikhi as well, and become a pooran Gursikh. This should be a warning signal to you...
  10. Pof Darshan Singh was very active during the movement indeed. I have a special edition from the "the truth" magazine from Canada (was later on closed due to lack of support) It contains mcuh useful information about his contributions to the movement. In one of his katha he was talking about how the arranged a meeting with the saiints in Punjab, so that religious people too (not that he wasn't religious, but they were respecting other religious people) should get into politics and follow the miri-piri concept. So they arranged a meeting to that religious people can discuss the issues and what could be done, and invited the media. Unforuantly no-one turned up. No-one dared to turn up and be politically active (except those who already were)... But yes, he did much parchar, and was arrested and tortured in jail. Much respect to him for that
  11. Since the word you have used is 'Kirtan' I assume it's going to be a programme of singing the glorious praises of Vaheguru from Gurbani... and 'nirol Gurbani'... If that is the case, I recommend everyone to 'hum humakey paunchana'. (although I disagree with the unecessary use of words like 'Sant baba jee') I do hope that Bhai Ranjit Singh Ji will be doing Gurbani Kirtan  If not, I have nothing to say in this thread, and take back my above comment.
  12. A Singh, how do you mean they are not written by him?
  13. Calm Kirtan (rather than hyped up... most people not into spirituality cna't focus on hyped up Kirtan, withthe only thing you cna hear is, chainey anc chimtey..) with English translations on STTM, or someone explaining in English.
  14. Sikhsoldier, the reason many Sikhs are hesitant on discussing the meat issue is because Gurbani clearly tells us that people who argue about meat being a taboo or not are 'moorakh' - 'Maas Maas kar Moorakh Chagrey' That is why Sikhs are hesitant to dsicuss it. Another reason is because it's bene discussed many times, and has thus become a forbidden topic, since it's discussed over and over, without any solution, since this is a decision for Panth to make, not some gooners like me on forums... Bhull Chukk maaf
  15. I believe Balaiti sher made a post about his paronthe, and explaining the method ina post, with photos a while ago..
  16. Completly agree with Knight Singh  I thought this discussion was prohibited on this forum?
  17. I'm not sure it means as an actualy ilusion, but in the sense that we get so stuck in it, the we fail to notice anything else, and not that everything here is false...
  18. Yep, agree with the above responses. Panth Parvan Rehit Maryada says, atleast 3.... the more the better, but the bare minimum is 3. The Puratan Rehitnamey too, support this. But don't stop at three, do more if time allows, if not..3 is your bare minimum
  19. Had a look at Sikh Missionary old Southall? It's around the corner of Havelock Rd Gurd
  20. Congrats! You are indeed very lucky ! Regarding Sarbloh Kirpan: Where abouts do you live?
  21. Angad Singh, I had a quick peek at your blog last night, and listened to some Raag Basant  It's a wicked blog! Keep it going and encouraging other to do/listen/sing Raag kirtan Keep up the good effort, and keep uploading that Kirtan  (will be downloading all fo it some time soon  )
  22. Kurtas gives a find example of Jullundhur and Jalandhar. See what seems more Pnjabi. All ofthese 'u'-s, are probably out of British influence. I'd say Panjabi sounds more like what it should be, sice it's meant to reflect the number 5 - PANJ-ab. But when you think about it, I'm not sure you even need anything at all, would pnjabi do? lol
