  1. Although I don't like Labour but Akter and the Manchester Mayor's actions seems to be just humans. We all make mistakes. Yes, they should've known better but ordinary folks have done these things. My colleague went Punjab why wasn't she on the news?
  2. A good diet consists of green vegetables, vegetables and daal. Brown rice with vegetables is the usual top and favoured by many athletes. Light steamed green vegetables as accompanying food to any dish. Light heated lentils, urid or chickpea is another. Added nuts n seed will give it a boost. Baajri or makhi roti over kank is more nutritional but hard to make. For breakfast the right porridge or oats is highly beneficial or natural grown cereal (weetabix, Shreddies) usually whole wheat. What did I mean by right porridge? One that has no sugar and shows a high content of vitamins and minerals. In UK Ready Brek is a great example. Asda own brand, Ready Oats, is much tastier and low price. Have this sort of meal three times a week where daal and sabjia are light steamed, no tadka then the body and mind will feel boosted, happy and energetic.
  3. People use such venues to pass the time. Even today in India, children don't tell parents where they been due to embarrassment. But speaking from anecdote none of my cousins ever been pubs in Punjab, due to the busy schedule of farming life from dawn til dusk. However, times are changing and "If Western countries do it, we should do it too" attitude kicks in. Western Countries, it is encouraged by parents for their kids to get out there n explore.
  4. I don't think this site's for nindia of other religions? I may be wrong.
  5. The dream's to visit Bauli Sahib and do the 84 Japji Sahibs on Guru Amar Das Ji's steps. Anyone visited? If no what's your dream place for a Gurudwara visit??
  6. For all Sikhs Shastervidia is important. It's not "Oh! Thas not important for me this day n age." Shastervidia can become useful you never know, you can pass on its teachings and practicing it can keep u fit and healthy.
  7. Merits and education based? Higher education + high job = high paid jobs.
  8. USA voter fraud is just claims made by the Party that lose the elections. According to a 9/11 documentary two men had taken out insurance, in billions, a day or two b4 the attacks. Tupac never faked his own death he really died (just incase anyone's wondering). Other conspiracy theories that I find fascinating is Men In Black and Jesse Ventura's Conspiracy theories on YouTube.
  9. Basically, gal nu ghuma firake revolves back around to money... WE ALL LOVE MONEY! High jobs = high cash meaning more prestige.
  10. OFF TOPIC - Apologies in advance. From my opinions solely, Indians move to Canada for one purpose... MONEY. End of the day we all revolve around cash. Not sure what one dollar equals in rupees, maybe 50 or 55 rupees? But one pound is worth 100 rs. Nobody believes me?? Ok, let's just say that one a dollar is worth 2 or 3 rupees. No Indian will go Canada! "Why would I wanna be a truck driver there when I can be a factory worker in UK?" This whole "Better life, better living" BS is an excuse. Ok! STILL NO ONE BELIEVES ME!?? Okay... Let's come to born n bred citizens in UK. Let's just say the Government one day decided "All primary school teachers will be paid 18,000 P.A. from tomorrow." Now imagine a UK Punjabi family, sat around a round table, laughing, joking, when the uncle asks "So beta, what u wanna be when you're older?" Answer: Primary school Maths teacher... LOL that kid is going to get the frowns! He/ she mite as well say factory worker! BACK TO TOPIC!!! A uniform for Sikhs will be cool ?
  11. https://www.betterhelp.com/advice/parenting/what-is-a-toxic-mother-and-how-does-she-affect-relationships/ Link is about abusive relationship you may or may had been in but never knew? There is direct abuse; negligence, rape, hitting kids. Then there is indirect abuse; constant criticism, over involvement, frowning on kids' decisions, constant emotional blackmail until kids' give in to parent's choices, NEVER appreciative of your own kids, constantly going on about other kids and how they are successful, making your kids feel unworthy, telling them "You can't do/ cope." Me and my sister fall into the latter. And MY GOODNESS! How has my sis ended up!? 34, been on super healthy diet since nearly 17 years, hasn't eaten outside food since, no fizzy drinks just water n milk, no oily fried food, no chocolate, candies - basically home cooked vegetables and daal (that too just heated up) with sometimes rice, sometimes Baajri (millet flour), nuts n seeds. Her attitude in general is "I am right, do it my way" and she's a force nobody argues with. She has negative thoughts rather than positive. Her spending idea is "save every single penny, you never know" so absolutely zero make up (ok, fair enough) but then she'll wear same clothes for years n years without getting bored. 5 yrs ago she wore shoes with hole at the bottom! My mother had to buy her new ones outta pitty. Tell me, who's gonna marry a broken n wrecked girl like that?? NOBODY! Mum being mum (poisonous, venomous n toxic) used to force her to get married now she's given up but talks about it. Part of poisonous, venomous, toxic relationship is to ensure you make your kids do what they not want or cannot do. Only on two occasions (how fortunate only two) she wanted me to atleast trim my beard to look neat. With kirpa I never gave in to that. My sister's idea of passing the time; study books on healthy eating, cycle, study Grade 4 or 5 books to keep the brain sharp, maths all in spare time. Anything else is "Waste of her time." Sangat Jio, unless YOU want your kids to be on drugs, not follow society, be unhappy, have negative thoughts to EVERY situation... don't chod it up for them and yourselves.
  12. I sometimes feel Chartirio Pakyaan is set in the future... Some men in that paat are point blank range blatantly dumb! I thought "Really? HOW STUPID! On a few men (women too but rarely). I mean it seems like mindset of Maha Kaljug. Bhul chuk maaf.

  14. This may be the next level BUT... Go for santhia (or Sankhia). With Santhia start from Baal Updesh (Ooda Aeda), complete entire book THEN go for Santhia of Maharaaj. MUST be Keshdhaari as a minimum requirement (absolutely no cutting/ trimming of the hair anywhere on body). Second recommendation, getting a beginner's book from the library n studying it. Even if it's for toddlers! Main important thing is to make a start. Last recommendation, listening to Punjabi broadcasts radio. It will have a profound affect only within 6 months. Listen for a good hour each day. Then build up on read n writing. Good luck.
  15. According to Guru Nanak Ji to a peer, "Hell and Heaven is a state of mind. Not a Geographic location." SGGS states "Jamdoot come and beat up paapis/ Nirguras. Wine and fish eaters go to hell" etc. Also, hell is fire Heaven is freedom, joy, Sukhi saans. My opinions. Apparently, God is also known as "Upperwale" (Being up there). So if Heaven is up and hell is down (according to tradition) we need to think, what is up? Space, stars! No gravity. Sounds like all the good / religious folks do become stars after death! Of course not the case but what else is up? Now, lets focus on down... Core of the Earth, Heat! Lava! Hot n scary items. Interestingly we humans may die before getting towards the Earth's core and we cannot reach the nearest star in a single life... (Ok, we should forget about stars). Simply, my opinion is (taking into SGGS account) Hell is Core of the Earth and... IDK where Sachkhand is but must be obviously some place nice. So, core of the Earth is where all the paapi souls are imprisoned n tortured. According to Guru Nanak Ji live a life where you live life a true hermit. In God's will. By doing so the mind itself becomes like Heaven. Hell and Heaven is a state of mind. Heaven too is, sadly, a Maya (groan) the truest place is with God in His Darbaar.
  16. In UK - with the high impact of interracial relationship I can see the gora race go very, very dim.
  17. Sorry if my last post was confusing. I was trying to say Toxic relationship is difficult to be in. And y I mentioned kids? It can cause a huge affect on them once they're passed 16. As at this point they look back n assess how their upbringing was. Kids should not be brought up in a toxic relationship. Hopefully u can be persistent and work on yer husband (don't give up hope) that he will change.
  18. My father may understand what you are going through. Your husband sounds like my mother; no love, always talking of rich people (trying to undermine dad and belittle me n my sis). Always talking about so n so are divorced or which kids is clever/ doing better. If your kids are young (below 12) it may not be too late just yet. How to change your husband around? You will have to work it out. Unfortunately my dad made a mistake by not spending time with his fam or spend time with his wife (just cause of her attitude). Best of luck. Don't give up hope. Small things will make a change. Be persistent for the good.
  19. WJKKWJKF Try Matrimonial.com or shaadi.com. Sign up and looking for potential spouse is free but making any contact will cost. Prices vary, emailing other users is cheap, requesting their team to help you out with specific needs will be pricey. Another thing... My sister in law is our bachola. Now, things will not be 100% out there. Both my sis in law and Saadu ji follow a Taksaali maryaad. Both are Amritdhaari. My wife took Amrit after our engagement for my sake (Punj pyaare, in front of SGGS). I made it clear that will be up to her to take Amrit. Don't let society force or compell. But the truth? She associates herself with Naam she got from RSS Dera, something I found out a few months later after our marriage. Lucky for her this doesn't bother me at all. Unlike me, I looked at my Saadu and Sis in Law and thought my wife holds the same values. Values are similar, not the same. From my In Laws, only my sis in law made a dramatic change going from RSS to a full Taksaali maryaad. So besides doing the usual family background checks, be sure to add on Religious beliefs and if it may be a burden. Lucky for my wife I am normal Sikh practicing my Religion. But if a full fledged hardcore Sikh gets married to a complete different Sikh, it may cause problems later. And remember nothing is 100% out there. We must work with what we have.
  20. Farmlands are very, very expensive to buy. It's cause of the acres of land which comes with it. Harvesting, opening up a farm, herding animals, popping up fairs/ mini market, hiring nights on the zameens for campers and caravans (or trailers) - will be its sources of income. Now, I don't see Bill popping on his farm clothes for the harvesting season anytime soon! So why do rich folks go for farmlands? All I can see is for the reputation and prestige. Only income they will be gaining from it is by renting it out... Atleast they haven't destroyed farms to build factories and supermarkets as of yet.
  21. Forget society be happy with who u are. I know it's difficult, society branding me a Terrorist just cause of beard n turban it does leave a stigma. I know it's hard to forget them n move on, you do leave yourself questioning or feeling shy etc. Big question is, what do you feel like? What do you say? The main thing is "My life, my feelings," not the next person's feelings n thoughts. Recognise yourself first, rest will be easier.
