    lol I don't think being vegetarian helped you in in controlling your vikaar or stopping you from being in a non-life non-grihast degrading temporary casual partnership with someone. There are plenty of jhatka practising or shikaar practising Nihang Singhs or other amrit dharis who will not allow their children to be in some disgusting-appalling temporary partnership like girlfriend-boyfriend. There are sikhs who drink who will also not allow their children to be in such partnerships! Has this ritual-vegeterianism given you any annakh or izzat like the sikhs I just described? The fact is you are trying to be religious and just do dating partnerships like other ritualistic people, after all you do follow ritual vegeterianism! You need to learn to be dharmik. Dharmik people do not enter boyfriend-girlfriend partnerships, or being concubines, or temporary marriages like muslims do.But religious people such as abrahamics (like Jews, christians, muslims) do not have many issues with temporary partners and concubines and keeping slave girls. Are you religious or do you want to become a dharmik sikh????? Do you want to stay stuck in ritualism and forget to use your brain, same kind of ritualism Guru Nanak taught against? Again you degrade yourself by saying you don't want to choose between boyfriend and family? HE IS NOT EVEN YOUR HUSBAND, NOT EVEN YOUR LIFE PARTNER!!! He is just a boyfriend, a casual/temporary partner. You allow yourself to be degraded to a girlfriend, YOU ARE NOT HIS LIFE PARTNER YET YOU ARE ALREADY TALKING ABOUT CHOOSING BETWEEN THIS POOR EXCUS FOR A PARTNER AND YOUR FAMILY? If you want to be taken seriously, at least become his life partner? Why are you being such an ABCD coconut, are you stupid? Where is your intelligence? You really need to look deep inside yourself. Do you understand the importance of grihast jeevan? lol and just a BF, not even a husband! I think she needs to think why she is in a casual partnership. Why he is her boyfriend and not in a grihast jeevan with her? Why the urgency and desperation to be in such a partnership when Anand Karaj can be performed.

    I don't think most amrit dhari families or even many respectful sikh families will not accept their children being part of boyfriend-girlfriend partnerships. If you are serious to become someone's partner, then the only acceptable way is become a life partner. This is the grihast jeevan that Guru Nanak taught and practised and promoted. It is so degrading to become a temporary partner like a girlfriend, you got any sharam and respect at all (to OP of course)?

    Why ignore me? Do my arguments hurt you? I am trying to learn the traditional instruments. However most gurdwaras in London only want to teach harmonium and play harmonium at their functions. Also many people online, some gurdwaras and london uni sikh societies want to promote these rockstar keertan performer smagams instead of Raag. IF you keep your raag vidiya hidden and want to do rock instead to please the desires and vikaars of manmukhs and court rockstar superstar fame, then that is being anti-raag! Raag keertan is still in the minority, teachers are in the minority. Most of the stuff promoted is what performers think is better because of ego and fame, instead of Raag. Many sikhs do not know about Raag or never got the chance to listen, because of these personalities. Naamdharis are doing a much better job than mainstream panth. Harmonium is being promoted everywhere instead of raag tanti saaj instruments! Look end of the day, they want us to subscribe, and I don't want to because they prefer to promote certain rockstar personalities instead of proper Raagis! Last time I went to a university keertan darbar in West London, and they were mostly promoting this style of keertan, and ignoring Raag, I did complain! I am willing to do something offline and online! I am not intimidated by any jathe or BOSS or any other organisations when it comes to preserving maryada, and I don't like how they confuse young students by not showing them how really keertan sounds like! On another note, this rockstar keertanis should try electric guitars, I would love to hear what this sounds like, might attract more sangat?! I think there was a keertani in Australia who use sounds like didgeridoo and other instruments in his keertan. Maybe a keertani can pick this up?

    What really makes me upset and angry is how most of us Singhs haven't been keeping proper rehit for a long time now, I would say alot of our Singhs stopped keeping shastar rehit during colonial times, and now it's mostly only Nihang Singhs and Takht such as Hajoor Sahib where Singhs keep the shastar and training rehit up. So it's also our fault as well for not learning to defend ourselves and getting easily killied during partition, Punjabi Suba lehar and 1984 - and also getting beaten up by police and mobs during current times. So why are Singhs not keeping rehit now? I see too many Singhs think that taking Pahul is just about doing paat and avoiding a few things - but forget that shastar rehit and training is MANDATORY for a Singh, no it's easier to just ignore Guru Sahib right and stay a manmukh, and many people will even call these manmatti people as gursikhs and gurkmukhs as well. So instead of thinking, put your focus into practising proper rehit, following rehitnamas, promoting rehit and even calling out Singhs who are purposefully ignoring rehit and promoting lazy rahit! Get Singhs who talk and play football all the time to actually practise archery, gun shooting, horse riding etc and then we can enter competitions instead of trying to go after the football player models, and idiots in our families trying to copy bollywood actors!

    I know PKMC and their gurdwara Guru Maneyo Granth explain teach people to do simran with this breathing way. Also do people who receive exclusive Naam Dhrir in exclusive amrit sanchars do it this way? Is this the way to do it for special Naam Dhrir? The breath way I have always found weird. Also any link or write-up for the surat shabad explanation, it will come in very useful for discussions on here and some other forums? A good thing to know against the notorious PKMC and Guru Maneyo Granth gurdwara sangat!

    If you see their all their youtube posts on this thread, they only posted the youtube videos for the one type of keertan. If you go the website, the 2 keertan performers are also famous for performing this type of keertan. So unfortunately, there is strong evidence for them being biased towards this keertan. I do understand they upload keertan and katha from sikhs outside the jatha. But the jatha and jathebandi exclusivity can unfortunately be strongly seen, and I cannot ignore this, and this strongly helps me not subscribe to their youtube channel! Token gestures towards raag keertan is not good enough. You can invite a raag keertani to play for a short while at a smagam along with the other performers. token gesture is just not enough compared to taking time to respect and learn keertan and raags! So please all, just wake up. EDIT: I do not need to create another thread, I can probably find one already discussing this topic on this forum. However I came on strong to this thread because it is a sticky, and promoting anti-raag keertan, and also the fact that there is no sticky for raag keertan. So I had strong reasons to post in here!

    waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh, Sorry I was not talking about the website, but more about the youtube channel. So I am complaining about the youtube channel. So I am not attacking the veerji who made website, only disappointed in the contributors for the youtube channel. I am complaining that an exclusive keertan style is being promoted over Raag-respectful keertan for the YouTube channel, and this was the reason I was giving for not suscribing. I did see some Raag content such as this: However the youtube channel is mostly promoting anti-raag content and personalities. Also the Website banner is promoting personalities associated with anti-raag keertan performances Keertan maryada was started by Guru Nanak and Bhai Mardana ji. Proper maryada of keertan started then, but has been practised by all 10 Gurus, and new instruments were created by Gurus to propagate this maryada! Also Guru Granth Sahib has Raag written before banis. To be honest I consider some of the keertan done by some jatha personalities as beadbi, because some keertanis go crazy and sometimes sangat starts making animal noise, this is very bad! I remember there may have been topics on this forum as well when some make these noises, some sound tracks were posted, and some people uploaded stuff to youtube. Keertan should be performed by those who have taken time to respect the Raags, and taken time to practise. Why should I go on stage and start doing whatever tunes I like in front of Guru Granth Sahib maharaj, why should I use my manmatt? I am not the one doing beadbi of keertan. TO be honest, it doesn't sound much like keertan and more like dunyavi-geet, dubbed over with gurbani. It just cannot compare to the Raag keertan... What example is this giving to sangat, having these personalities being created, they will make sangat lazy and also not respect raags and not take time and efforts to learn keertan. Just teaches us to go on stage and perform any tunes, just do any manmatt! Why are we promoting these personalities on social media and youtube? There are organisations in India and UK trying to preserve the Raag keertan, and then we get these youtube channels being promoted which is detrimental to preserving our sikh keertan maryada, started by Guru Nanak Dev! End of the day: if keertani personalities aren't going to take the time and effort to respect and learn keertan and raags, then why should we take our time to respect and listen to the keertan performances and go to smagams featuring these personalities? And why would I respect channels and websites promoting them? I prefer sewa done for those who have real pyaar, true pyaar for keertan, not these keertani superstars!!! actually why are we promoting these keertan ROCKSTARS SUPERSTARS and causing the detriment of panthic raag keertan? WHY?? WHY??? Dhan Guru Nanak!

    It's really disappointing to see that there is no sticky for any raag keertan channel or social media on here Your channel is full of the exclusive AKJ jatha-style keertan, a style of keertan I unfortunately do not enjoy, so sorry I will not be subscribing. If you really have pyaar for sikhi, then why not upload videos of keertan done to maryada of the Raags written in Guru Granth Sahib by Guru jis, and even videos with instruments like Rabaab, Saranda, dulruba, Taus, instruments used by Bhai Mardana, Guru Hargobind, Guru Gobind Singh ji. There's so many channels with this exclusive-style keertan, why should we follow yours? Why not post proper keertan done in raag, gurmat sangeet maryada which is being destroyed BECAUSE OF YOUR HARMONIUMS?! Why do your jatha organisations think it's better to do keertan their style instead of following Guru's maryada, please tell me as you are so obsessed with promoting your channels and social media accounts? Why is your anti-raag channel stickied on this forum?

    SGPC SRM is seriously disrespectful to Benti Chaupau, SRM still allows the last 2 lines and Arril to be skipped, this is the cut Benti Chaupai that Teja Bhasauria imposed in Harmandir Sahib. Sadly, some important organisations such as Budha Dal + Tarna Dal Nihang Singhs weren't present and invited when SRM was discussed. Also SRM is still in draft form. So to conclude, there are some serious issues with SRM that haven't been resolved!

    I know right. This is in no way disrespecting keertan. I think it is more disrespectful that keertan is done like this in gurdwaras in the first place - that is the real disrespect. Kirtanees don't want to use sikh instruments and sing in Raag. Back in colonial times, harmonium and tabla was probably used in those kothi places where the women dance I found out, maybe this year or last year, that Raja Ranjit Singh only went to Akal Takht for political reasons, due to pressure from the sikh population. Basically he went to save face, he didn't have to go, it was more of a political thing as he was called to do pesh.

    well I am in IT so was looking at Security courses but I have just started AWS. I am using Linkedin Learning which I get free from work. I sometimes add free courses to my Udemy library when I see them on HotUkDeals website. You will have to look around but there are some sites providing their courses free due to Covid-19.

    there are so many free courses online, so I am training in courses slowly. Also doing a slow sehaj paat from my phone. Try and do at least one ang page, but sometimes miss some days.

    harmonium will never be good. if you are interested in keertan learn a proper sikh instrument like sikh rabaab, saranda, dilruba, saranghi etc Please, too many sikhs use harmonium and it will never be good enough to properly do keertan!
