    Thanks Paji. Look at Kerela in India, demographics are changing very fast there. At the beginning of the 20th century Hindus were 70% of the population and now they're just 56%. Muslims are 26% of the population but account for 41% of all births today. It is on target to be a muslim majority state in the future. This is the state that has the highest literacy rate in India but even that hasn't stopped muslim overbreeding. If they don't outbreed you, they throw you out when they become a majority like in Kashmir. Here in the UK the fertility rate for muslim women is 3 whereas for non muslims it is 1.8. Even Colonel Gaddaffi said that Europe will become muslim not through war but through the womb.

    The worrying thing is the overbreeding doesn't stop even when they get educated and have good jobs. Most of the suls I work with in IT have 3 kids. Most Sikhs have 2. At this rate a Sikh man would have 4 grandchildren and a sul 9. That's how quickly demographics change. In a lowly populated state like Punjab this is very dangerous.

    Indian origin faiths don't have the cunningness, hatred and aggression to deal with Abrahamic faith's especially Islam. Malaysia and Indonesia were once Hindu/Buddhists and now they are overwhelmingly Muslim. Islam wants to conquer, they see secularism as a weakness to expose and when Muslims become a majority they impose sharia which forbids the populace from leaving Islam. So it's a one way win win situation for them. You can never have a Liberal attitude towards them or it will come back to bite you.

    I was going to make your first point in my previous post. Lahore, Lyallpur etc mean diddly squat to me. I don't want to visit them nor do I care about what happens there. One of my grandfathers was even born on that side, he went back to visit his village once and that was it, he wasn't obsessed about it like some pathetic apne are. We are obsessed with Punjab and Punjabiat because we have no country of our own. I've seen your thread about Shaadi.com, I remember in my single days I went to one of their speed dating events and one girl said as long as her partner is Punjabi she would be happy, whether he was Sikh or Hindu.

    That's all well and good but as I've said many times, in the modern age Demographics matter. If Sikhs+Hindus formed more than 50% of the population of Lahore then it would have gone to India but they didn't so that's that. Even in Amritsar Sikh + Hindus barely had a majority over muslims. Furthermore in Pre Partition there were more muslims in East Punjab than there were Sikhs and Hindus in West Punjab. More of them had to migrate than we did. I don't get this obsession with Lahore. I'll say it again - Partition was brutal but in the long run it was good for us. I rate Jinnah for having the foresight in seeing that Muslims and non Muslims won't get along and that's been proven again and again.

    Sunni vs Shia is very different to muslim vs non muslim. With all of the Islamic terrorism these days there is no doubt that an undivided Punjab would be a bloodbath. We just needed a land where we were the overwhelming majority. It makes me laugh when apne think the break up of the greater East Punjab which included Haryana and parts of Himachal was a bad thing. It finally gave us a state where we were the majority, made Punjabi and Gurmukhi the official language. Even then we've messed that up and are now barely a majority. We aren't even a majority in the major cities of Punjab. Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala all have more Hindus than Sikhs, I find that a joke! I would hate to live in a sul majority greater Punjab with curly writing everywhere. Demographics matter.

    Today we would be around 10% of the population of that Empire, I highly doubt we would still be in charge to this day if we didn't lose to the British. Also a lot of modern day East Punjab wasn't even in Ranjit Singh's empire for example Ludhiana, Patiala. At the end of the day we had an empire that lasted a mere 50 years. The suls ruled over a lot of India for several hundred years, the British were in India for 250 years and in Punjab for 100 years, so even the Brits ruled Punjab for double the time we did. It's sad but true.

    If its such a good idea having the muslims in India why did we eliminate them from Punjab? They are now coming to Punjab in large numbers, mosques are opening everywhere. Open your eyes.

    The Hindus really messed up big time in 1947. That was their time to remove all Muslims from India (like we did in Punjab) and claim their Ram temple in Ayodhya but they and their leaders bottled it big time. It is because of their failings that muslims from UP and Bihar have come to Punjab.

    Chandigarh has nothing to do with Punjab. The culture is extremely different. It's closer to Delhi and Mumbai than it is to regular Punjab.
