    Help Please

Where do you live? Just start doing physical seva of sangat by polishing their shoe cleaning gurdwara washing utensils serving langar and start reading bani you will be guided by guru ji himself in some way or other. Asking such questions of forums and blogs will make one more confuse. Thats what i think. Just do the seva and start reading bani and with time you will start seeing your path with your own two eyes.
  2. ^^^ Moranwali has a gurdwara of baba bidhi chand dal nihangs and all the nihang singh jathebandis do jhatka after the akhand path of sri dasam granth as per nihang mareyada. Tarseem singh is a nihang of baba bidhi chand dal and he follows dal panth mareyada which he claimed at 300 salla at nanded. At all the jodhmeles i have seen him with singhs from baba bidhi chand dal. Regarding his not going to pind i have no idea and i dont think he is sharabi as many mahapursh are inviting him at stage every now and then.
  3. Whats the difference? One is goal pug which was evolved in middle east mainly worn by afgan and other kings and other is tedi pug which was evolved in middle india. Rajputanas pahari kings all wore tedi pug. Both the styles existed far before sikhism. Afganis wearing goal pug Ahmad shah abdali with a farra and a bunga in his turban. Maharaja amar singh of ajmer Traditional middle indian turban And style of turban should not matter anyones spirituality or fighting skill as we have mahapursh and shaheeds wearing both the styles of turbans. Instead of finding of spirituality in what turban to wear what color to wear what clothes to wear what to eat what to drink size of kara size of kanga long or short kashera etc etc etc one should start reading bani. In the end how much time you spend in naam simren bani seva will matter not which turban you wore.

    Kashera Question

I have read it in some old rehat nama and yes they do talk about such things as well. You should not remove both the legs from your kashera instead remove one leg and tie it over your opposite thigh.
  6. Brush it sideways and tie a kapra over it everyday and it will grow in that direction
  7. Gur Partap Suraj Granth. The greatest work of Kavi Ji is the Suraj Parkash or Gur Partap Suraj, which is a complete history of the ten Gurus. An interesting event occurred when he had finished writing about the nine Gurus. He was unable to proceed further regarding the tenth Guru. Even after considerable research some of the anecdotes and stories of the tenth Guru could not be confirmed. Eventually Kavi Ji went into a deep meditation and prayed to the Guru for divine help. This divine help came in the form of a Sikh, who came to visit him and stayed at his residence. The next morning the Sikh was not found anywhere but a bag was left behind, which when opened contained all the material required by Kavi Ji for the completion of the Granth. Kavi Ji was very much overcome by this miracle, as he writes, "Bhayo Achanak Sanchey Ayi, Sarab Guran ko jas samudai." Kavi Ji was sure that this was a boon from Guru Gobind Singh Himself, to help him complete this gigantic task. Last Days During the fulfilment of this task, Kavi Ji's mentor the Raja Saheb expired and Kavi Ji was thrown into an uncertain future. When he was told to look for another benefactor, Kavi Ji replied, "Ab aur ki aas niraas bhei, Kalgidhar baas kiyo man mahin." His belief in Satguru and his supplications again transformed into a vision of his Satguru and Guru Ji enlightened him - to keep on writing and God will be with him all the time. Undoubtedly this tremendous task was finished with the grace of God in 1843. After this work he completed another five small books. He took his life work of Suraj Parkash and Nanak Parkash, to the Akaal Takht and had an Ardassia do an ardaas, thanking the Guru for the divine assistance given to him for the completion of these Granths. That very year he died after presenting his extraordinary accomplishments to the Darbar Sahib and the entire Sikh panorama.
  8. When bhai dalla asked guru sahib that he should have called him when fighting mughals at kachi garhi he and his army is very much skilled military and being a sikh they could have fought till last breath for guru sahib. Hearing this guru sahib asked him to stand in front as they wanted to test their new gun. Hearing this dalla was shocked and refused. Then guru sahib in high volume repeated the same thing and 2 sikh father and son who were cleaning the horses came running. In short Guru sahib wanted to show bhai Dalla singh it is very easy to say we can die for guru but reality its hard to do. Only few with true love can stand with guru sahib even when its matter of death and life.

^^^ When guru sahib send zafarnama to aurangzeb then bhai daya singh ji who was heading singhs gave the letter to aurangzeb. There was a Dog outside court of the king who spoke in front of every one in punjabi that "in next life u will be a dog as well as a result of your sins.: Some claim it was just any random dog. Some claim this dog used to eat the jhoot of langar of guru sahib and bhai Daya singh ji took it with them.
  10. Here is whats written in Suraj Parkash the only accepted granth of guru itehas at all the takths taksals and other jathebandis. As per rehat mareyada which is common in all there are only 6 in total literature which can be read and can be explained in the hazzori of guru Granth sahib. 1. Sri Dasam Granth 2. Bhai Gurdas Varran 3. Bhai Nand Lals writtings 4. Nanak Parkash 5. Suraj Parkash 6. Panth Parkash *Sri Sarbloh Granth but only nihang singhs do its katha but its not accepted by sri akal takth sahib No other text can be read or its katha can be done in the hazori of Guru sahib. Which can be confirmed from which ever jathebandi you belong or the Akal Takth sahib. What this Suraj parkash says is as follows http://www.ik13.net/PDFS/Rut3.pdf Page 200/485 is where the itehas of vaisakhi starts. It clearly states Guru ji took the punj peyare 1 by 1 inside the tent and beheaded a Goat whose blood came out of tent and people thought its human blood. A part of sikh community is against jhatka this is the only reason certain ithas is in circulation and they call it eyewitness account to over power all the sant mahapursh scholars etc in one go which is backed by emotions such as "so you dont have faith in Guru sahib" On the other hand if you go in taksals the school of sikhi. They dont do jhatka yet they fear guru sahib that no matter how big the taksali mahapursh is they do the katha of itehas as it is. Without changing it without challenging it.
  11. Guru Hargobind sahib ji gave their elder son Baba Gurdita ji to Baba sri Chand ji who became the second jathedar of udasin sikhs and started four different akhare and send them in four directions which later grew to 18 udasin akharas. For Baba Gurdita ji this quote is often used "Din duni da tika jo vaar mangeya so vaar dita" Kavi raj Bhai Santokh singh ji records that Guru Hargobind sahib ji choose baba Gurdita ji for being the next guru due to their hardship and talked about it with mata Nanaki ji and did future bachans that time will come when guru Tegh bahadar sahib will also be guru. Such a ageyakari son was given to baba Sri Chand ji. The confusion regarding udasins and baba ji starts when parallel guru ship started in sikh panth. Deermaal, Ram rai Gulab singh etc. They all claimed to be gurus and for many years they even had a much larger sikh sangat then sikh gurus. So these udasins were also divided Some akhare were in support of ramrai dheermal etc and did their parchar as guru. Some remained with guru sahib they even fought along side guru sahib at anadpur sahib. And then guru sahib did a bachan "Udasin da beej reh geya sikhan wich" that means udasin will always flourish among sikhs but in small number. Another most imp event related to gurus and udasin relation is when guru sahib left anandpur sahib they themself gave the seva sambhal of anandpur sahib to an udasin sadhu named baba Gurbaksh Ram who was later beaten to death Gulab Singh and his followers when he controlled anandpur sahib and projected himself as Guru. This was the first account of udasin taking care of sikh gurudwaras which was followed for years till gurdwara sudhar leahr. And later the Anandpur sahib resolution has this resolution as well to bring back all the udasins back in mainstream sikhi. One more misconception by looking at pictures of baba ji is that they didnt kept beard. When baba ji was a child there person who used to play with them in punjabi we call them "khdaven" they keep babies busy by playing with them said to baba ji that while holding them in their arms that you are growing up and soon you will be a young man with other friend and you will forget me. Then baba ji replied dont worry i will never grow up and at that age baba jis physical growth stopped. Here is aarta of Guru Nanak dev ji written by baba ji.
  12. Dear onlyfive sometimes you seem to make perfect sense and sometimes it seems like u just took a line read it and ignore what above and below it. If you read my post 2 3 or 4 times you may notice i was replying to a "false argument" that prachin panth parkash backs up the that guru ji beheaded punj peyare. I was just copy pasting what parchin panth parkash says. Hope you get whats the main motive of copy pasting the itehas of vaisakhi from panth parkash.
  13. Vaisakhi (Punjabi: ਵਿਸਾਖੀ visākhī, Hindi: बैसाखी baisākhī, also known as Baisakhi, Vaishakhi, or Vasakhi) is an ancient harvest festival celebrated across North India, especially in the state of Punjab.which is celebrated by all punjabis whether muslim, hindu or sikh. For sikhs, the Khalsa was founded on same day of Baisakhi festival so double delight for them. In Sikhism, it is one of the most significant holidays in the Sikh calendar, commemorating the establishment of the Khalsa at Anandpur Sahib in 1699, by the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh[1]. This day is also observed as the beginning of the Hindu solar new year celebrated by people across Nepal, the Assam Valley, Kerala, Orissa, West Bengal and other regions of India. The particular significance attached to the occasion shows regional variation outside of Punjab too. In Himachal Pradesh, the Hindu Goddess Jwalamukhi is worshipped on Vaisakhi, while in Bihar, the Sun-god Surya is honoured.[2] The festival is celebrated as Rongali Bihu in Assam, Naba Barsha or Pohela Boishakh in Bengal and Tripura, Puthandu (Tamil New Year) in Tamil Nadu, Vishu (or Vaishakhi) in Kerala, Bikhu or Bikhauti in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, Maha Vishuba Sankranti (or Pana Sankranti) in Orissa, and the Sinhalese New Year festival in Sri Lanka. Besides Punjab, Vaisakhi is widely celebrated as a traditional harvest festival in many northern states of India, such as Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In many places the day is marked by ritualistic bathing in sacred rivers like the Ganges.
  14. Control on the flow of words and change of tone is more important the quality of voice.... Nusrat fathe ali khan was told by his ustad that he can never sing his voice is worse... which is kinda true if u listen him talking its not good... but when he sings his control dominates every other thing... Do reaz thats it... you can find many people who have natural melodious voice cant sing... So quality of voice is just one factor out of many...
  15. Well if you have made it matter of pride then in no way i m going to even try and prove you wrong. You are 100% right and rattan singh bhangu mentions what ever you say. For others here is whats written in prachin panth parkash. I have a teeka done by baba Santa singh ji but Dal singh ji posted a direct link to the text so i am copy pasting it from that pdf Episode 15 Episode About the Creation of the Khalsa At Keshgarh Sahib (Amrit Pahul — Initiation Ceremony) (The First Five Beloved Initiated Sikhs) Dohra : After thoroughly deliberating over the whole situation, Guru Gobind Singh arrived at a firm resolution. Thereafter, positioning himself at Keshgarh1 (Sahib), He started making endeavours to implement his resolution. (1) He summoned the services of learned Brahmins and great astrologers, To make a prediction about the auspicious moment for launching his mission. He made a selection of five sprightly youths, One each out of the five Indian castes. (2) Chaupai : By selecting these five youths from the five different castes, Guru Gobind Singh created a common brotherhood of all the four main castes. S. Daya Singh Sobti was the first to be selected from the Kshtriya2 caste, Who was a prominent inhabitant of the city of Lahore. (3) Dharam Singh from Hastinapur3 was the second to be chosen, Who happened to be a Jat4 with flowing Shiva like5 locks of hair. Mohkam Singh was the third, born and bred at Dwarka, The place from where Namdev’s6 spiritual guide Krishna hailed. (4) Sahib Singh, a barbar by caste, was the fourth from a place, Which was also the abode of Bhagat/Saint Sain7 . Himmat Singh, the water-carrier, was the fifth chosen, Thus, the five youths from the five castes were identified. (5) Thereafter, Guru Gobind Singh got the ‘Khandey ki Pahul’8 prepared, By mixing sweet-candies in a bowl of water. He stirred the sweetened solution with a double-edged sword, By keeping its sharp edge all the time towards himself. (6) Dohra : Satguru Guru Gobind Singh kept on chanting the true name of God, And kept on reciting the name of God, The Creator. He continued meditating on the timeless eternal God, In order to invoke His grace for the success of his mission. (7) Chaupai : First, Guru Gobind Singh recited the ballad consecrated to Bhagwati9 (the primal force), He himself had composed this ballad for the first time. Then he invoked the grace of earlier Nine Sikh Gurus10 , And beseeched them to bestow their blessings on the Tenth Guru. (8) Thereafter he recited the thirty-two savyeeyas11 , Which also came out from his own sacred lips. This war ballad “Chandi-di-War”12 was a very inspiring composition, The recitation of which was also made mandatory during initiation ceremony. (9) Tirbhange13 Chhand : O/ the primal force/Bhagwati/the Sword Which is capable of making a mince-meat of the wicked; Which is capable of decimating the forces of ignorance; Which is capable of waging a mighty war in the field; Which bestows its blessings on the mighty warriors. Which protects the mighty arms from being broken; Which ignites and illuminates the whole environment; Which emanates an ever-steady and undiminished brilliance, Which shines and illuminates as brightly as the sun. Which brings about peace and comfort for the saints; Which annihilates all kinds of evil and the wicked; Which eliminates all kinds of sins and strife; I have sought the protection and blessings of that Divine Power. Praise be to that creative Force of the Universe; Which sustains and preserves the whole creation; Which shields and protects me as well; Praise be to that sword, the emblem/incarnation of Bhagwati. Dohra : Filling his cupped hands with the prepared Amrit Pahul (elixir) Satguru exhorted the five chosen ones to present themselves. Instructing them to face him with their eyes open wide, He sprinkled the cupped elixir into their eyes. (10) Chaupai : He made them recite and repeat the name of the timeless/eternal, And bade them shout the slogan, “Victory be to God”. Thereafter, he poured the cupped elixir five times into each one’s head, As well as made each one of them drink five draughts of this elixir. (11) Then he made them partake food from the same steel bowl, In order to eliminate all distinctions of caste and race. He instructed them to discard the four distinctions of caste, As well as their symbolic emblems such as the thread14 and saffron mark. (12) Thereafter, Satguru bade them to obey the following injunctions: They would neither have any dealings with the Masands15 . Nor with those indulging in female foeticide or smoking or being the followers of Ram Rai16 , For whosoever dealt with them was bound to come to grief. (13) They must also contribute to Guru’s House as per their financial capacity, As well as offer sacred ‘karah Parshad17 ’ to the Khalsa fraternity. They must wear the Sikh undergarment18 and a turban on their heads, And follow the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. (14) Dohra : Satguru, after delivering these instructions to the chosen five, Made them sling a sword from their shoulders. He also made them wear a dagger-studded steel rings around their turban, In the midst of chanting the name of eternal God. (15) Chaupai : Guru Gobind Singh further instructed them to read Gurbani, And meditate on God’s name both in the morning and evening. They must also recite hymns of Anand Sahib19 and Rehras20 , As well as recite the text of “Chandi-di-//”21 . (16) They must wear a turban twice a day on their heads, As well as wear the ordained arms round the clock. They should go on hunting expeditions after partaking Amrit, So that they might become well-versed in handling of arms. (17) They should eat mutton only after slaughtering the animal with one stroke, And desist from eating the meat of dead animals22 . They must clean and nourish the hair on their heads and their beards, And desist from shaving their hair with a blade. (18) They must discard the rituals associated with their dead ancestors, And concentrate and meditate on Guru-ordained teachings. They must remain vigilant against those going astray from the prescribed regimen, And award them suitable punishment for their acts of misdemeaneur. (19) Dohra : Whatever ceremonial procedure Satguru had devised earlier, He repeated the same procedure once again. He begged to be initiated himself in the same manner, From those five chosen ones whom he himself had initiated. (20) After being initiated by the five initiated ones in the same manner, He came to be known as Teacher-disciple rolled into one. This has been the tradition from the very beginning, As Guru Nanak had also accepted Guru Angad as his Guru. (21) After taking of Pahul-Amrit as per Guru’s instructions, The Khalsa Panth flourished and went from strength to strength. It was in the year of seventeen hundred and fifty two, That the Khalsa Panth was founded on Wednesday in the month of Vaisakh.23 Thanks for the link can we somehow put baba santa singhs teeka online?
  16. Bala Rao and Rustam Rao it was not gwalior but maanmar and gurdwara guptsar is build their. They hold the feet of guru sahib and horse flew from inside jail to this place. Relationship

You should clear up these things with him directly what you want what you think about him directly instead trying some thing indirect. If he loves you he will try and behave differently. But i will not suggest any indirect approach. Sit together and talk. If you are not married talking about sex is not good and cannot be justified with anything. Instead download all the 8 parts of this katha from youtube and give him in a CD. Maskeen ji touches husband wife relationship and sex very deeply. You should also listen to it Part 1 of 8
  19. Exactly these type of questions give rise to self written history. Why should i think guru ji tricked i have full faith in guru sahib and i m not such a big bhagat or geyani to understand all the actions of guru sahib. Nor I wish to get all my queries answered right now. Its in hands of guru sahib to give me budhi to understand guru sahib. Guru Hargobind sahib killed that pathan I forget his name in their fourth jang when he didnt had any shaster he was bare hand and guru sahib was on a horse. I need not find some new itehas which may claim that he had a secret weapon hidden some where so guru jee attacked him Nor i need some smartly written itehas how guru jee dressed up as muslim peer and sikhs singing uch da hai peer sada uch da hai peer and he is coming from haaj to get out of machi varra jangal. Nor i need modified itehas to believe sukha singh and mehtab singh dressed as muslim naambardars when they went to kill massa rangar. But i also believe in itehas after 60 years of guru Gobind singh went to sach khand they showed up in gawalior jail to take two sikhs out who did sukhmani sahib for 40 days non stop and every day they did ardas to show up I also believe in itehas given by seva panthis that guru Hargobind sahib showed in 1901 at Mandi district himachal pardesh when 2 sikhs were attacked by lion and they did ardas in guru Hargobind sahib jis fee. Dear brother I or any one else dont have any problem in believing in the itehas which is promoted on facebook or sikhsangat on every visakhi the only thing is there is no source attached to it. If you or anyone can write a small name under it author or granth or book. Everyone will believe it. But just blaming some one that if u dont believe it u dont have faith in guru sahib etc will not help anyone. Old school granths such as prachin panth parkash suraj parkash gur bilas patshahi 10 nor any mahapursh sach as sant bhindrawalle maskeen ji baba nihal singh ji never mentioned about this eye witness itehas. Why should i believe it not what panth parkash or suraj parkash says ? just because it is more appealing to my ears ?

  21. Like many other historic places in darbar sahibs parikarma like baba buda jees asthan, baba deep singh jee asthan, guru ram dass jis asthan, 68 teerats etc ... This asthan was in the corner baba sri Chand jee use to come every day sit there facing harimander sahib and meditate ... there was entrance to darbar sahib from that point as well later a room was made and was locked. Now they server water to sangat in this corner. This pushing back of baba sri chand jis asthan was started in 1940s and ended in 1970s so that people may not question the sudden disappearance of the place.
