  8. An Inspiration story upon meeting Bhai Jeevan Singh Ji Feeling like I'd fallen very far from Perfect Prabh ji, Needing the support of the sangat of sadh-saints, Guru jee made me sing the following shabad with heart and soul for only a couple of weeks: 'AntarJamee So prabh poora, Daan Deh Sadhoo Kee Dhoora' Knower-Of-Hearts, O Perfect Prabh, Give me the gift of the foot-dust from the Sadhoo-Saints' As I walked, talked, sat or stood, Guru ji made me do this ardas with my heart and soul: 'AntarJamee So prabh poora, Daan Deh Sadhoo Kee Dhoora' Knower-Of-Hearts, O Perfect Prabh, Give me the gift of the foot-dust from the Sadhoo-Saints' On Saturday night I heard that Bhai Jeevan Singh ji was landing at Heathrow Sunday morning. He's a Sadhoo-Saint...he has the shining, glowing face of the ones who've Meditated on Naam ...Jini Naam Dhia-eh gae maskat ghal, Nanak teh MUKH UJLE ketee chutee nal. Guru Nanak jee says, the ones who've meditated on Naam have glowing faces and many more will 'escape' with them. So here was my chance to get the foot dust. Guru ji arranges everything. So I went to the Gurdwara did one hour of simran while sitting in the prescence of the holiest Sadhoo-Saint, Guru Granth Sahib ji and Asa-Dee // was being sung. Feeling hungry I was given an apple from the langar sevadar. Then Guru ji put the thought in my head.....I want meet the Sadhoo-Saint, but how determined am I? what sacrifice will I make? Baba ji I will not eat anything until I meet him and I will offer him this apple from your house , Your blessing to Your beloved Sadhoo-Saint. Arriving at the airport, hoping for his darshan I waited eagerly with the other GurMukh pyarios. But he never appeared, only his wife and another companion and before I knew it everyone had disappeared...where to? who's house? who..what...um...er...? So sad that I'd missed the darshan of the Sadhoo-Saint, i drove off to my friends house. In the car the apple came to mind....'I may as well eat it, I'm so hungry and I guess it wasn't meant to be ...meeting the Sadhoo-Saint.' But NO! I made a committment to Guru ji, to show I was determined I will not eat until the Sadhoo-Saint has accepted this apple. So now, with a stronger will, with heart and soul, all the way in the car I sung 'AntarJamee So prabh poora, Daan Deh Sadhoo Kee Dhoora' Knower-Of-Hearts, O Perfect Prabh, Give me the gift of the foot-dust from the Sadhoo-Saints' Arriving at my friends house, I sat down dissapointed, then the doorbell rang, the other GurMukh pyarios arrived.....................with smiling faces, with joy in their heart for they had with them a priceless diamond, a gem of gems...................none other than the Sadhoo-Saint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Bhai Jeevan Singh ji was weary after travelling from so far, after he'd settled in, this fool standing humbly in his prescence asked him to accept the apple, one for him and one for his wife. After all the talking and greetings, he lay down to rest and a fool like me was blessed with the seva to massage his tired legs and his feet..................................................... lovelight like sunlight flooding in and showering the Kirtanee Bhai Jeevan Singh The crippled can walk and the dumb can talk the dead are alive when Guru gives us life The walking can run the talking can sing when the heart belongs to Guru Gobind Singh Running and singing flying free with the wind the playful, youthful Bhai Jeevan Singh. Jeevath, Jeevath, Jeevath Raho.....Live! Live! Live!

    Parents & Guru Ji

honestly man, jus do what many other gursikhs on dis forum n a paapi like ma self have done.. my rents aren't inta sikhi, they still aren't.. they still dun support me on ma path, but they stopped sayin thingz to me once i proved this is what i really want once they saw that i was committed they stopped arguing and saying i can't go to gurughar, they won't take me etc --> now they just like add their stupid little remarks every once in a while, but take me and let me do what i want on this path (well to a limit) start with nitnem or a japji sahib every morning at 6 before work/school and work from there.. u dun need to keep ur kes right away.. jus do ur research, be sure this is what u truly desire from within.. jap as much naam as u can, do as much ardaas as u can.. do ardaas for ur family to be blessed wit a sikhi jeevan too they might never get on this path or understand (Guru Sahib chooses only certain people to walk his path) .. but if they love u, they'll accept what you wanna do, once again maybe wit a few upsetting remarks once in a while but its better than nothing through me walking this path, i've seen changes in many people in ma family.. my dad started listening to nitnem to work, he stopped drinking, and he stopped puttn his dastaar on da ground when he ties it.. so once u start on dis path, u'll inspire the rest of ur family.. just give it a start.. dun waste time talking about it.. jus do it 'ope maharaj does nuff kirpa on da two o' us n anyone else struggln on dis path p.s for an expert opinion on dis topic, pm Heera Singh.. this gursikh can help u out more than anyone else on dis forum in ma opinion on dis topic.. for furthur info or for day to day help, jus pm him.. he can really inspire and give good advice as to what to do next
  11. i kno i'll prolly get shot by sayn dis buh me, intu n gurjot singh finished all da cake last time heheh

  15. wha's da law in canada?..'eera singh...?
  16. as well, wud anyone put a pic of guru granth sahib ji up? no? why not? because maharaj's body is a book? well that proves that it does not matter what body maharaj is in, contemplate on maharaj's bani, not body... forget what maharaj looks like just not that upon gettn darshan from ur guru, desire for ever seeing again will vainsh instead of lookn at dese images of what our gurus "might" look like, we shud jus do so much naam abhiyaas dat we get darshan of maharaj himself, if u want to see ur guru that bad then do wut it takes to meet him, don't put false images of him everywhere saying its him, anyways i'll find the tuk n post it styll
  17. da reason we dun depict maharaj as a model or 3d figure is because then it becomes kind of like a statue.. and sikhs do not beleive in worshipping statues, hindus do.. if thats da case den why 'ave da statue in da first place, its a waste a' space.. some people say pictures are alright because it idn't a statue in ma opinion, i dun tink we shud keep pics or statues of our gurus.. we dun love our gurus for their bodies, we love em for their bachans, wut dey sed.. which is compiled in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji..plus none o' dem pics are even 50% true depicitions of any of da gurus, so i mean u cud be lookn at someting/someone else n calln em guru n finally i was told by a singh dat dere is a tuk in bani where it says we shud not keep pictures of gurus or a line that explains that.. i am currently looking for it, i will post it once i find it.. not keeping statues, models, or figure forms of the gurus are explained in billions of different places in Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji so we know that video isn't da best teaching tool think about it, if guru gobind singh ji was still alive n infront of ur face den wud u put a pic of guru nanak dev ji in ur room or wud u jus go see guru gobind singh ji (who is guru nanak dev ji)... similarly we shud jus go see dhan dhan sri guru granth sahib ji, foget pics, guru nanak is right infront of our eyes, buh we jus dun see him cuz we blinded by maya
  18. mad respexx wit da seva.. amazing job.. buh jus one suggestion dat when handing packages out, make sure there is no bani in it.. most people dun read dese tingz, dey jus disrespect em
  19. while we're at it, wuhts da basic kirpan rule.. we allowed to wear it outside?
  20. sorry, i meant (i know) more people who aren't into sikhi that keep maharaj's saroop at home than the gursikhs who you mentioned that actually want to progress their sikhi.. i been to nuff peoplez house dat i feel like im in a gurughar, the vibes are mazing.. feel like want'n to do simran all da time, but those nuff people are 1% of the amount of other people that keep maharaj's saroop at home im jus tryn ta say that look, gursikhs know their duties and responsibilites and they go to the gurughar besides the fact that guru sahib is at home, they dun make nun excuse seyn we have guru sahib at home so theres no need for going to a gurdwara.. i was tryn to say that the "not so into it sikhs" tend to make excuses that guru sahib is at home(although they dont even bother to take advantage of that) so we dont need to go to the gurdwara. they only go on fancy occassions where dey get all dressed up like dey hittn up sum jam o sumfin (gurpurb, new years etc) my view may be different furm errywun else's, i dun wanna offend anyone.. i used to be one of those "not so into it sikhs" myself so i know that errywun is on their own path, and sooner or later maharaj will bless dem wit kirpa, its a matter o time. im just stating things that i have noticed from different friends/families' houses i beleive if we kept maharaj just to the gurdwara, the respect, sanctity and everything can be kept properly, no doubt.. plus the more sangat the better. it can always add to the laha.. it just makes guru jee look more like a guru cuz if wherever we go we see Maharaj da saroop, to some it becomes a joke n they loose the "russ" or "excitement" or iunno how to phrase this of meeting their guru.. if we really treated maharaj like a guru then everyone wuld be quiet and listening to keertan in the darbar hall.. no stupidness wud happen in gurughars.. buh if we have a maharaj tha saroop being a big joke, everyone having one, then where's the sanctity of maharaj.. its not like one can sit with maharaj in guru sahib's room at home for the entire day, i mean come on Guru Nanak Dev Ji is sitting upstairs, wut r u doing watching tv... thats wut i mean.. jus keep mahraj at a gurdwara n maharaj just seems more like a guru.. n for me one of my biggest problems and i know its for a lot of people... its truly believing and ur heart taking Guru Granth Sahib Ji as ur guru and really being about to give ur head for ur guru, really being able to cry to ur guru, talk to ur guru about everything and anything in life.. one of the hardest things in sikhi for anyone is to really from the heart believe guru granth sahib to be guru, act in front of Guru Granth Sahib Ji as u wuld in front of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, i know i don't... srry for offending anyone.. (im kinda a hypocrite cuz i have maharaj da saroop at home) but im looking a the big picture of the whole panth, n its not only my decision.. i can't imagine a day without seeing my guru whenever i feel like it, but then again do i really take Maharaj as my guru?
  21. bigs ups to Heera Singh fo startn dis thread.. i remeber talkin about dis wit u a while ago before i went to india (but i know it wasn't because of ma comments dat u started it).. jus wanna say dat i feel madd guilty n stuff too wit mahraj in the house, especially wit all the "non-sikhs" in the house no one else buh maself n ma grandfather are inta sikhi (both at our respective levels)..with guru's kirpa im the only amritdhari in the house, so with everyone else there is meat eating downstairs..i actually tried giving maharaj back to the gurughar enuff tymez, but something keeps going wrong whenever i try i feel that maharaj should only be kept in the gurwara... this way more sangat comes and more pyaar is there.. it makes guru granth sahib ji actually look and seem like a guru.. no beadbi happens this way and anyone who wants maharaj's darshan just goes to a gurughar and visits him this is instead of every second house having maharaj saroop.. this way sangat, keertans, akhand paaths etc all get split up and sangatan get split up.. so there is less ronak at guru ghar.. mississauga gurughar gets 100 people/sangat a week if dey get lucky whereas dixie gurughar gets 100+ a day.. from wut i noticed is dat the peeps who aint inta sikhi and are far from it have mahraj saroop in dere house, but the real gurmukhs don't... from wut i've noticed is that da real gursikhs go to gurusahib's home, gurughar to do bhagti cuz if dat were guru gobind singh ji, u wuldnt make him come to ur house to learn from him.. u wuld go to him.. i noticed that most upperclass people less into sikhi are in sauga, dey have maharaj parkash and say we dont need to go to gurughar, we have guru sahib our house, so our house is a gurughar.. but then when u say cover ur head ur in a gurughar, or take out the meat ur ina gurughar or dont drink or swear ur in a gurughar, they say dont take it literally. be practical ur not in a gurdwara.. so i mean thats just ma opinion.. the less mahraj saroops that are printed the better .. this keeps the sanctity of maharaj.. i personally think maharaj saroops should be made of real gold (i've seen a pure 24K gold maharaj saroop in india) its AMAZING ....the akhars n everything are in gold its so amazing.. it really seems like yurr lookin at sumfin special... i think all saroops should be dis way, plus its really expensive whereas in canada u can get a saroop for free or in india starting at like 100 rupees, which is a really cheap price to put on ur "guru" i wud say... dis is gettn kinda long, ma bad.. vaheguru
