  1. My advice is to contact the Kaurageous sevadars - a lot of Singhnia from there to go uni
  2. If socks on and socks off aren't acceptable then scientifically, what would be a good solution? I think if you HAVE to wear socks because of a condition you may have with your feet, then bring in fresh socks from home which are washed and change them when you get to the Gurdwara. Socks can fit in your pockets so there should be no reason why you cant bring some from home. I wish all Gurdwaras would provide adequate feet washing facilities too
  3. i take a cold shower... when the boilers on the blink...!
  4. Fateh everyone If you were to give out a leaflet to everyone going into a Gurdwara about what the rules are and WHY those rules are in place, what would you say? I got some down myself but need help! 1. No talking - self explanatory 2. Please remove shoes AND socks before entering. (To reduce the intake of dirt going into the hall) 3. Please cover your head... (why cover your head? Is "respect" the only reason?) 4. No running. 5. Please control your kids and keep them with you at all times. 6. Mobile Phones must be switched off or put on silent. 7. Do not answer or make calls on your mobile phones whilst in diwaan hall. 8. Please bow before Guru Granth Sahib Jee upon entering and leaving the hall. 9. Do not sit with your back towards Guru Granth Sahib jee ................ anyone else help?
  5. Bhaji no offence but I think you're making comments about smethwick/handsworth without knowing about the full picture and basing your opinion on the overhyped posts people have made on this forum. Maaf karna, but i think whats funnier is the people who claim they know whats happening when they dont really know whats happening... if ya get me.
  6. Move to America, you wo'nt have to. I wud if i was that stupid
  7. ure vision must be distorted then! This is Leicester we talkin about...
  8. I feel sorry for the 22 year old who died after collapsing at the marathon. Bechaaraa. Do ardas for the family...
  9. i reckon its because you guys have reached a state of smaadhi and can see beyond your average moorakhs like me.
  10. Why is this turning complicated? The answer is in simple... Guru Jee is without a physical form. He is beyond, birth n death, male n female, beyond time, beyond everything...
  11. Guru Jee is beyond form But you are right. We should refer to Maharaj as Maharaj. He is derived from Christianity, who have the belief that God is He.
  12. THIS PROGRAMME HAS ALREADY PASSED - im pretty sure it has anyway. Monday nights DISPATCHES is as follows and not as mentioned above people. " Dispatches Murdering the Truth Dispatches has exclusive access to the investigation into the murder of world-famous journalist Anna Politkovskaya. As the body count of journalists, businessmen and opposition activists mounts, Dispatches asks whether the dream of a new, democratic Russia is falling apart."
  13. And then Singhs wonder why girls run off with Muslim boys, jeeeeeeez if we can't talk to our own, then who the hell are we supposed to talk to? Nice one, interesting point. If individuals are paranoid that Hi5 and other similar networks like these are being used in an inappropriate way, then why not consider the idea of creating a network solely for Sikhs. Young and mature Sikhs alike can meet and greet each other and give each other testimonials or whatever -- incorporating all the features used by other networking sites. Maybe calling it HiPajee! or Sikhi5!........ Use your imagination... I remember SikhPal.com and some other ones which started up
  14. Prevention of Sikh girls going off with Muslims? I dont think it starts with people going out patrolling the streets and grounding Sikh girls. It starts with our attempts to educate our Sikh girls about Gurmat and the dangers they face as Sikh women. The more you try and "restrain" someone, the more they will fight to break free and rebel.
  15. well i believe they are just paintings. Guru jee is in everyone... in everything around us. Yes, beautiful paintings but our Guru's didnt necessarily look like that. Sikhs dont believe in idol worshipping - no worshipping of photos, statues etc... so i dont think it matters too much what you do with them. HOWEVER, on the other hand, the more satkaar you can do of Guru Jee the better... - take what you want from that :umm: forgive my mistakes if ive made any
  16. I wasnt criticising Sant Jagjit Singh, so dont get me wrong. Im not out to offend neone, just giving my opinion and in terms of watching what im saying, i have not said anything derogatory about any Sant. Obviously he is revered by the saadh sangat. N i didnt say any of the sants have told sangat to bow to them so i dont know what you are on about there. How am i or anyone else meant to learn if we cant even question things that are on our mind? Sikhi isnt about "blind-faith"... its about "true-realisation".
  17. "Guys and girls shouldnt chat to each other at Gurdwaras" "Guys and girls should not txt each other or ring one another" "Guys and girls should not add each other to msn" "Guys and girls should not chill out withj one another or meet up" "Guys and girls should not go on HI5" ...... i think we need to start getting a bit real here. I am sorry, but i know people who yes, have got together "marriage wise" using one of the above and have done so in the most respectful way. Sikh guys and girls WILL flirt. No one is going to stop that. No one can. It can be controlled but i think thats up to those who are taking part in such activity. And it comes down to intentions as well. Lets not tell people "you cant totally have contact with people from the opposite sex"... lets teach them Gurmat and how to respect one another as well as their Guru at the same time. None of us are sants. Well i aint anyway... Sorry for my mistakes
  18. Its peoples MANMATT. Sant jee said so many times "dont matha tek to me" but people did. Every time i do a TINY bit of seva, people give me praises etc and no matter how many times i tell them not to do my vadiyayee, they dont listen to the point i just give up and ignore them. And its as i said, there is a difference between people bowing to you, and letting them bow to you. Maybe you cant kick someone if they bow to you, but u sure can do ure best to tell them not to. Theres only so many times you can say it until u just think "Oh allow it"... I have yet to meet the baba jee in the topic title but will share my experiences and thoughts afterwards..
  19. AND BRILLIANT! CONGRATULATIONS PENJI! Absolutely amazing stuff :umm:
  20. Ok where in that video bruv did sant jee let someone bow to him? :umm: I dont want to get into a discussion about this as i am not learned and i know very little but i dont believe Sant jee let people bow to him... n theres a difference between people bowing to you and you letting them bow to you...
  21. I disagree that Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Bhindranwale ALLOWED people to bow to him. Just because a whole load of "Sants" allow people to bow to them, doesnt make it right though does it? And Im not judging right and wrong by personal opinion, but by the Gurmat i have been taught through out the years...
