  6. Eating meat really quickens your breathing rate? Does that also mean we shouldn't exercise as it increases our breathing rate? I think the idea that our breaths are numbered means that the time and place of our death is already destined.
  7. Thats soooooooo big!! I wonder how big the kharchee is or how many that have in there at a time to mix stuff.
  8. This event is a really good idea. We should try to organize such events in Canada and UK as well so that sikhs are encouraged to keep fit. $1000 is usually good motive to train
  9. Remembering God or doing Jap Ji Sahib whether your body is dirty or clean is always good. That doesn't mean we shouldn't take a shower in the morning though. Take one as soon as you can. Simran/Baanee should start as soon as you wake up at amritvela and then continue during and after your ishnaan.

    Amrit

Keeping the above rehat for a year before taking amrit can be pretty hard. I think someone would be like, I'll start next week or something; and it would go on and on from there. Once you decide to take amrit, I'd say be prepared to sacrifice everything for your guru and live your life according to what the panj pyare tell you. The rest Guru Sahib will take care of.
  11. You are 538 years old . . . or 6463 months old or 28100 weeks old or 196705 days old or 4720920 hours old or 283255238 minutes old or 16995314317 seconds old And, your next birthday is in: 164 days 10 hrs 22 mins 23 secs Who am I implying?
  12. Bhai Mardana Ji probably followed all hukam and rehat told to him by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. This made him a gursikh.
  13. Oh ya, I also feel keeping hair is kind of one of the fundamentals of sikhism. So someone learning about sikhi should learn about that pretty soon...
  14. I think to be a sikh, firstly, you need to see guru granth sahib ji as your guru. After that, as long as your learning something (or being a sikh - the literal translation) and practising all lessons/teachings you learn without being biased or choosing which to follow, then your a sikh. I think definition doesn't judge based on how far you've gone down the path of sikhi. Just as long as your heading down the path. I guess people who's sikhi is stagnant aren't really trying to learn anything and therefore can't be called sikhs. What do you guys think?
  15. Your love for your Guru can't be defined by the wordly goods you donate to Guru Sahib. Guru Sahib owns all worldly pleasures. Love Guru Sahib through seva and simran.
  16. I dont know man... I'd like to think the good looking ones probably stay on better. Probably because the tighter they are, the neater they are.
