  1. On one side we say Akal Purakh has no shape or color or creed. On other hand, we say Akal purakh has long hair. How is that possible? Can you please elaborate?
  2. Do you think receiting Guru Granth Sahib ji by memory proved Guru Gobind Singh ji as a Guru? This doesn't prove that he was the Guru. Guru is a Guru, he/she doesn't need to show anything to estabblish himself/herself as a Guru. Guru has a deeper meaning than that. Also do you think Guru Arjan Dev ji was not humble as Guru ji included all his bani in Guru Granth Sahib ji? Infact, most of the bani is from Guru Arjan Dev ji Maharaaj. Can u please clear my doubts.
  3. What you said is just another way of forcing. Loyality cannot be compelled.....it has to be from within...you cant MAKE somebdy loyal....it has to be inbuilt. What I am saying is that, external appearance cannot infuse internal strength in anybdy, internal strength is a grace. Also, the sakhi you mentioned to back up your hypothesis also reveals that sikhs before guru gobind singh ji were weak in some sense and they required a special "outer" appearance to show their bravery. I think sikh before guru gobind singh ji were also brave and were ready to sacrifice their life for truth and justice. Also, without FULL conviction we cannot reach anywhere. Its a path where "faith" is required not "half" or "blind" faith.
  4. The following statement contradicts the statement above. Please be consistent. I think we agree that guru ji NEVER forced anybdy. Please explain if I missed your point.
  5. Well, do you think giving an external "shape" provides you with internal strength to stand up? I think internal strength is MOST important......A person may have an external shape and may be very timid from inside. ...but a person who is strong internally will stand against operression ..no matter what....I think Guru ji very well recognized that. Any thoughts?
  6. This reminds me of a show in Indian TV in which they showed a sardar ji and blonde to represent stupid characters. Do we fall in same category? should enjoy these jokes?
  7. Thats a nice story, I heard it from somebdy else too. After listening the story I thought of bhagat dhana ji. How innocent was his prayer that God had to come. I think unfortunately we forgot that innocence because we have been "taught", how to pray...how to do "ardass".....I think ardass should be from soul with no set words, with no set couplets...it should be straight from the heart.....as innocent as bhagat dhana ji......a pure feeling from the heart.
  8. I didn't know that there are sikh songs based on popular songs (i heard it in case of mata di bhentan). The soundtrack is based on a popular song "de de gera". OMG
  9. I think everyone of us is racist in one way or other. We dont have eyes like Guru Gobind Singh ji who said "manas ki jaat sabhe eke pehchanbo". We still see hindus, muslims, indians, sikhs, kalu and pindu around us. We cant say like Guru Nanak did "na ko hindu na ko musalman". We label everybdy saint or sinner...we cant see humans anymore.
  10. ^^^ They are using "kallu" for "other " indians and u r using "pindu" for them. Whats the difference in you and them ...why are u complaining?
  11. where also does it say in "SGGS" ji whether we should go to toilet or not - need the page number too thanks Does sikhi has to do something with going to toilet or not? But sikhi definately has to do something with "keeping kesh".
  12. I didn't know monaa is that old of a word.I thought it to be relatively new.

    Is It Ok?

Do you personally know her? Why are you so eager to pass judgements. A lot of "SIKH" women wear makeup and jewellery.... go to any gurudwara and see by urself. You can see the world the way you want to.

    Is It Ok?

How do you know she plucks her eyebrows?
  15. Edited: Its between him and mods, so please let them solve the issue :D
  16. Why did Guru ji said that...that seems like a "shraap". I have heard "shraap" only in devi devtas stories, why would guru ji give "shraap"...or say something like that. Guru ji very well know everything here is temporary and doesn't count at all......why would he care if something is built after him or not. Also, Maharaja Ranjit singh tried to handover his kingdom to his son.....he was not under the impression that his family will not survive. And what is the source of the above quote......do you have any reference from guru ji times or it is just that u have heard it somewhere?
  17. I think combing hair cannot be compared with "cutting" nails. Cutting is a process of forcibly removing. Just to bring up the argument. :D Also, why do we always say that sikhs has "alag pehchan" or "different identity" when muslims with turbans look same as singhs? Another argument.
  18. In fact what the sources say is that they became unconscious and were then taken out and beheaded. Someone please shed more light on this issue. yes, im sure ur right, because ive heard in a sakhi, that they were first bricked, but as the bricks fell apart... sahibzade ji were unconcious.... having thier last breathes, and the muslim guy (verry sorry for my choice of lang) asked them once more that its not too late for them to say they accept islam, and sahibzade ji nodded their heads by saying No, then they were beheaded. pls forgive me if im wrong. wjkk wjkf I heard something else. The maulvi who annouced punishment said that their religious rule book (shria, may be) states that blood should not be spilled while punishing children or women. So they decided to brick them alive. I never heard of beheading them.
  19. Very valid points. I also thought about them when i read zafarnama once a while back. No kathavachaks ever mentioned those points (atleast to whom I listened). Guru is infinite and deviod of any hate ....its really hard to think the way guru ji think cuz we are in our finite self and filled with opinions. God is inspiration of any work meant to "find" Him. So koran is inspiration of Almighty.....i think so.
  20. do you just need the info or you are against the marriage?
  21. Life is an experience. This is the only chance to experience everything. Experiencing everything and learning from it... is the purpose. The harder the life....more you can experience and learn....and ofcourse tougher you become.....thats how things balance themselves. Life doesn't promise to be very smooth......hardships are designed for YOUR growth. Take it as a challange....ask for the light from the almighty.......He is the ONLY source of energy. Good Luck.
  22. Very well Said Pheena ji. Accepting hukam is really important .
  23. I remember few weeks back our sikh leaders also gave this choice to people from other faiths (hindu/chirtsans etc.) to convert to sikhism if they want to get scholarships. Sikh student get scholarships in some professional colleges in punjab. Do you guys remember?
  24. Brother, you are taking it out of context. Please re read the whole shabad.
