Daasn Daas, This is not something that is debateable, its a clear cut answer.

All the sources you gave have no real authenticity, they are not regarded as sources in the panth because they have been altered, the only source that remains un-altered is Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, and from Guru Sahib's teachings its concluded that one cannot have more than one wife at the same time, so how do you continue to back up your statement with all these false sources, when you fail to see the real source, Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Guru Sahib never talks about wives, but only wife, may times symbolically. Do you think a true Satguru would have children from two wives.

If you follow what's written in Mahan Kosh, and Sooraj Parkaash, and other very unknown granths, you will be misled, and I guarantee you on that.

har harjan due aik hai

they arnt one?

r u saying sant baba ishar singh je knew less than u?

r u saying sant baba attar singh je knew less than u?

r u saying sant baba mitt singh je nihang knew less than u?

r u saying al historical texts such as mahaan kosh know less than u?

r u saying someoone just built an extra gurughar and NO ONE int he panth even tryed to stop this?if one of these things was flawed and everythinf else said yes, maybe i wud chamge my mind

BUT ALL EVIDENCE SAYS YES GURU JE HAD MROE THAN WIFE

guru ji did not just have one wife, he had 2, one (mata Sahib kaur) was the mother in guru jis darbar, who asked for kids, and when she added patahseh to the bata guru ji promised her thousands upon thousands of kids.

ppl who think, (nooo wayyy guru ji supported poloagamy) also gotta think, guru ji was a KING, not just because of his link as a direct soruce of GOD, but he was a King in the literal sense. He formed policies, goverend lands, made aquisitions. in those timea a kings had many wives...so being kings soo did our gurus. now i have read, that all the gurus were only grist with one of the wives. but i have read GUru Gobind Singh Ji had 3 kids with Mata Sundri, and 1 with Mata Jito (vice versa im confused hehe)

ppl think ohmy.gifohmy.gifohmy.gif our guru wouldnt do that, but if u FAITHFULLY believe the gurus had the soul of gurur nanak dev ji, and are 1 with GOd then you KNOW there is no KAAM karodh lobh moh ahankaar so, for the people who say all of us can do it have more then one wife....compare ur self to Gurus (impossible) then try it

and i garentee u those same ppl (UK nangs) who say "ya, mate we can have more then one wife" or watever, ask them if there wife can have more then one husband, and then look at there facial excpresssions......

soo plz dont doubt history cuz u dont approve of it........polyagamy and gurus doesnt match, polagamy = lust and our gurus couldnt have that in them...

Ok i just posted a little while ago, and i duno where my post went grin.gif <_<

But i was saying for the first time i have to say this is the only post i agree with (and others who said something similar)

We shouldn't deny the fact that Guru Gobind Singh Ji had more than 1 wife. I don;t know which wife had 3 children and which had 1, and then the third was known as a spiritual wife, 'mother of the khalsa'. If all 3 women are the same woman then y r Gurudwaras built in India in rememberance for them separately? that doesn't make sense. So what if Guru Ji had more than one wife, we all know it wuzn;t due to kaam or lust or nething so whats the problem with accepting this FACT. (Daasn Daas, my brother, gota disagree wit u on this topic sowie ohmy.gif  )

There is historical evidence which agrees so why question whether he did or didn;t just have faith

if we have faith in our Guru's then we shoudn't have a problem accepting the fact Guru Ji had more than one wife

If we have faith then nothing else shud matter

just accept the fact n move on

i used to think also, that "this cant b, Guru Ji having more than one wife?!?! what type of joke is this!!?"

but then someone told me something and it all made sense

All we need is to have faith and then everything will make sense

bhul chuk maaf

waheguroo ji ka khalsa. waheguroo ji ki fateh

i have to say this, Guru Ji had only ONE wife...Mata Sahib Kaur is the mother of the khalsa, but not truly Guru Ji's wife...i read somewhere that Mata Sahib Kaur Ji's parents had only desired for her to be married to Guru Ji, otherwise they would not marry Mata Ji anywhere else, so Guru Ji agreed, but he made it clear that he would not consider his wife, that only Mata Sundri ji was his wife.

waheguroo ji ka khalsa. waheguroo ji ki fateh

    • Definitely the Guru Sahibs would be a heavier Scriptures to handle. Dasam Granth is more towards Bir Rass, Guru Gobind Singh showed his Greatness (of course, they would never say this) by separating his own Baania.  And the BIGGEST test of all?? Do we try and read Dasam Granth, Understand n show respect like we do to SGGS? Or... Do we QUESTION it? Guru Gobind Singh Ji is testing us.
    • My wife will be going for an MRI scan next week but her Kara won’t physically come off.  Is there any way the mri scan can be done with the Kara still on?  The alternative is we will have to try to saw it off before the scan.
    • was researching this and came back to this thread. Also found an older thread:
    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
