GRANTHI SINGH BEATEN AND HOSPITALISED

A Granthi Singh from village Shahkot, near Nakodar, district Jalandhar was hospitalised.

A family in the village had arranged for Guru Granth Sahib Ji to come to bless their home.  Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was being carried by foot by the sewadaars.  The Granthi Singh of the Gurdwara was doing Chaur Sahib di Sewa behind Guru Ji.  The Granthi Singh had flip flops on his feet.

A jeep full of men pulled up when they saw Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji and went to pay their respects.  When they saw the Granthi Singh wearing flip flops they became angry and aggressive.  An argument broke out between the Granthi Singh and the group men who had pulled up.

The Granthi Singh was hit and beaten by the group of men for wearing flip flops.  The Granthi Singh pleaded with the men, that he was wearing flip-flops because his feet were swollen.  He kept shouting this while the men mercilessly hit the Granthi Singh.

The Granthi Singh was taken to a nearby hospital for his wounds to heal.  His condition is not life threatening.

Some people just resort to violence without hearing out the person which is very wrong. If they felt so offended they should have talked to the guy and told him what they were upset or offended by. Also aren't they committing more sins by beating up someone whose performing a sewa? its sad...

Anyone who beats someone and hospitalises them in front of Guru Ji, and on top of that the person who are they beating up is doing Guru Ji's sewa CANNOT BE IN THE RIGHT FRAME OF MIND!!!! blush.gif

Is it more disrespectful to prevent pain to your feet and walk outside wearing flip flops (preventing glass, stones, cow-dung, dirt and thorns from going into to your feet) or is more disrespect to beat someone who is serving the Guru, in the Guru's presence?

no.gif

Hope Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib intervenes and looks into the incident!

Turn away in disgust?? The Granth is carrying your Guru, and you'd turn away in disgust- that would also entail turning away from Guru Ji

And if a 'paki' was doing seva with shoes on you'd beat him up???? Maybe he doesn't know he's meant to have his shoes off!
