apology

i would like to apologize to the Sangat and Guru for actions which went against gurmat. I was forced into a situation by guilt and in the process i was lured to do things with a particular person to which i am not proud of, but i can say i have learned how truly immoral and cunning people are capable of being in this world. You can try to live by honour, respect, and be a good Sikh; but it can very easily go down the drain. It only takes one person to enter your life and take away what you worked so hard for, with absolutely no regrets. You can provide stability and persevere to help them, but your own Sikhi will falter. Awareness is the best medicine; people are of matlab in this world. They are there for convenience until their purpose is served, they then claim they did it all themself after milking you for all your worth. They choose not to remember or be grateful for sacrifices you made, your committment to support them, or the fact you were forced to be caught up in their ongoing drama called life. They are delusional. Its the what-have-you-done-for-me-lately approach; they will not do to you as you did for them even in their worst of times. They will not help you rise after you fall and guide you where you faltered. They have no remorse in robbing you of your Sikhi and dignity, nor is their any self-respect; they move on to the next unsuspecting soul with the same vigor as a theif who moves on to his next prey.

However, this is life in Kaljug. People are selfish, you can not blame anyone for not being the way you want them to be. You can not force anyone to be grateful and loyal, or accept responsibility for their actions or past, no matter how shameless these might be. Gratitude is a sign of character; these individuals are void of it. They are a letdown to their faith and they are a letdown to those around them.

The only thing we can do is keep doing good, and not put false hopes and expectations on people. People will be people; even shame is something that is compromised in their motives regardless of whether they wear a distar, kirpan, do kirtan or portray the sikhi saroop. They fool us with their lies and appearance, and force others to take pity on them. These people do not understand what it is to live life nobly or with honour and morals, they continually take the easy way out. They wander promiscuously through life going person to person searching for something that is unattainable. My only advice is not to judge these people, but rather have good judgement because if you are forced to compromise your Sikhi and prinicples for them in vain, they are not worth it. The human being is a very selfish creature, the only person we can ever truly count on is our Guru. He is forgiving but many people take advantage of this fact, like a chor.

When a person is a theif, they stay quiet and hidden to conceal the truth from coming out. However, no matter where this theif hides or runs to for help, they will ultimately be exposed. There is no eluding the punishment, it is inevitable:

chor suaalio chor siaanaa ||

A thief may be handsome, and a thief may be wise,

khottae kaa mul eaek dhugaanaa ||

but he is still just a counterfeit coin, worth only a shell.

jae saathh rakheeai dheejai ralaae ||

If it is kept and mixed with other coins,

jaa parakheeai khottaa hoe jaae ||2||

it will be found to be false, when the coins are inspected. ||2||

Good post. The thing is, there are a LOT of people who will do anything to drag u down. Its like a ladder. If they see that you are higher on the ladder than them, they will shake the ladder and do everything they can in their position to make u slip or fall off the ladder to make sure they are not higher than you. But the thing they dont realise is that that does not mean they have climbed in the ladder. They have just created an illusion to make themselves APPEAR higher. They havent really climbed at all.
