Recommended Posts

what's this helping of lepers we speak of.... those lepers...what she did to them was stick em all in a sub-par quality house (funded by her multi-million dollar organization) with rotting beds and stuff..she said "you find peace in dying", so she stuck a bunch of dying poeple in the same room and fed em scrapes....

i know it sounds shady comin from me, but Penn and Teller hav e ashow called "Bullsh!t" (not tryin to get past censor, that's actually what it's called)... they investigate these "holy saints".... anyways, check it out, or if i'm on your msn, ask me to send it ot you

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Firstly-smartsingh Ji *cough, cough, ahemm* Back to the topic?

Well anyway, yeah, it is kind of weird, you could say, that we hear rumors about people who did good things.

I just wanted to say, that whatever Mother Teresa did or did not do, good or bad, we have no meaning with it whatsoever. She may have done much seva, or as Heera Singh Ji said he HEARD and smartsinhj Ji confirmed, done not-so-good things, but that it is not important.

She may be a Saint, she may not be, but that is not important.

In Baani, the qualities of a Saint are defined, and it is also explained to us what it really is to do nindiya of a Saint, what will happen. But you don't have to analyze each and every single famous seva doing person to see if they were a Saint, even if you are just trying to commend them for their great work. My murakh reasoning is as follows:

- If a person really is a Saint, it won't matter to them whether or not the world recognizes them as one.

- If you are looking to identify a Saint in order to save yourself from trash-talking them so you don't get paap, you're not supposed to trash talk ANYBODY, so you don't have to worry about knowing who's a Saint and who's not.

-"Ustad vadiyaai sirf Nanak di, te nindiya sirf apni: vichkaar koyi teesra bandha nahi auna chahida."

Although I have believed this thing for many years, I never believed it to be of any, you could say, public worth. But turns out it was-it is now the gyaan shared by a certain Baba Ji, I will have to ask Papa Ji what his name is, sorry. But the point is, that you should praise or commend only Nanak-notice it is not Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, but Nanak, and this was done purposely. He means to say Waheguru basically, as Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was Nirankasr Himself, and then followed the baaki ten Nanaks, right? So, basically, praise only the Lord.

And then it is said, nindiya sirf apni-if you must condemn or abuse anyone, it is yourself. You yourself are the only person you have any right to abuse in any way. You must see yourself as the lowest of the low. To prevent oneself from doing nindiya is not an easy task, for as long as one has homai, one will continue to do nindiya, it's an automatic thing, and whether you say it out loud, or feel it in your heart or think it in your mind, it does not matter-it's the same thing. Only you yourself are lower than anyone else.

And finally, Baba Ji also said, 'vichkaar koyi teesra nahi auna chahida'. In my opinion, this altogether changes the meaning. Well, actually, maybe not. Ok, whatever, him saying that is him telling us that we should not let a third get in the way between us and God. When you think bad about someone, or talk trash about someone, they are the third person gettingin the way. When you are praising someone, commending someone, it is a third person getting in the way.

So what do we do? How do prevent ourselves from allowing a third person to enter our relationship with God that was meant only for each of us and Him?

We give credit where it is due, and where it is due was always, is always, and will be always God. He is the Creator. He is the One who has blessed those people with those qualities we find admirable. It is all Him. So when you see a person doing a great seva, do not say, oh what a great insaan, that is a Saint, this and that. Say Waheguru Ji has blessed so-and-so with this and that quality, and appreciate it, thank God that He has done so. Do not feel jealous, do not feel, why i he/she doing that, and I do nothing, feel happy that Waheguru Ji has made such a person with such a quality. And in the same way, when you see someone with a quality you believe is not good, do not abuse or automatically dislike that person-stop and think you are truly abusing. Not only is Waheguru Ji inside each and evry single one os us, He has made that person you are hating on. He is the one who created that person with that quality you so dislike. He has his reasons. Do not abuse Your Lord, instead, accept His will, and humble yourself, realize that you are not as great as you think you are, and no one is as bad as you think they are.

"Hum nahi changey, burra nahi koye. Pranvat Nanak taarey soye........"

So now that there is a statue of Mother Teresa in India, rejoice that Waheguru Ji had created such a preson with such a quality. And if you believe there was a downside to Mother Teresa, accept it-everyone has a flaw here or there, even you. So celebrate the good, and let go of the bad. All is in God's sweet, sweet will.

"Tera kiya meetha laagai, Hari Naam padaarath, Nanak maangai............"

koyi vadh ghat bolan di bhul chukk di khimma bakshni Saadh Sangat Jiyo. i am but a murakh with simple useless thoughts................

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
