harmeet your question is valid, so not to take away from it… but when there is a possibility that others may interpret that sikhi might detract from something I get excited—so this is not directed at you, rather others who may read this thread.

So here’s a story about another sikh athlete dealt with commonly held perceptions about dastars…. He was asked how do you run a grueling marathon as a sikh with a dastar without overheating?

His answer was in his actions… wait till he was in his 90’s and start breaking world records on the marathon scene. – fauja singh of course

In other words you instill the meaning of the dastar in your heart and excel at what you do.

I just tie my patka extra tight. In my practices we have drills specifically centered around heading balls so i really can't get around it. Coaches always teach you to head with your forehead, not the top of your head so, technically, this shouldn't be a problem. Of course, you can't do those lovely little flickons that just skim the top of your head and once or twice ur patka might slip off in a game, but other than that...np
