SUGGEST A QUESTION

Recommended Posts

The Governors of the BBC are here to represent your interests. You pay £126.50 every year for BBC services; it's their job to make sure you get quality programmes and services in return.

Heres our golden opportunity to ask them, why BBC does not represent our community when it comes to broadcasting programs based on our celebrations/anniversaries such as 400th Anniversary of Guru Granth Sahibjee, 300th anniversary of the martrdom of the Sahibzadeys, 20 anniversary of Operation Bluestar, Delhi Riots and Sikh Human Rights Abuses

It does not matter if your in the states or canada, just put down Town & Country as :

Slough, London

Bradford, West Yorkshire

Manchester

Sheffield

Liverpool

Newcastle

York, West Yorkshire

Birmingham

Excellent idea.

The bbc have only made 2 programs on Sikhs in all the years they been operating that have been worth viewing.

One was "the Sikhs" made to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Khalsa. And the other was "Sikhs in the city".

Apart from that they havent done anything in terms of look at historical events in sikh history and human rights abuses in India. Their used to be a program called "correspondent" which used to highlight various cases of independance struggles and human rights cases across the globe but they never showed anything to do with Sikhs and how they been suffering in India. I even wrote to the editors giving them links and evidence to make a program on the situation of Sikhs but got no reply.

I think it's very important we let these governors of BBC know we count as a community and want our views heard also.
