That is really @$$backwards.

This is the schedule for Rags from SGGS if you notice there isnt any played at the time when Sikhs should be asleep. A raag has a preferred timing associated with it. There are some morning raags, evening raags, afternoon raags, etc. The timings of raags also complement the changes in human moods and heart during a twenty-four hour time cycle.

When Im at home I look at the time and play Kirtan according to what time it is and how it corresponds to the schedule.

There is 2-6 rags per time frame.

Rag Asa is the rag of hope, and is a morning Rag that gives you hope right after you wake and do Naam Simran. It is a warriors rag and gives the deathless warrior hope for Wahegurus creation in the time of impossilbe odds in war situations.

6 AM - 9AM: Bhairaagi, Devgandhari

9 AM - 12 PM: Saarang, Suhi, Bilaaval, Gujri, Gond, Todi

12 PM - 3 PM: Vadhans, Maru, Dhanasari

3 PM - 6 PM: Maanjh, Gauri, Tilang, Tukhari

6 PM - 9 PM: Sri, Basant, Maali Gaura, Jaitsree, Kedara, Kalyaan

9 PM - 12 AM: Bihaagra, Nat Narayan, Sorath, Malaar, Kaanra, Jaijawanti

12 AM - 3 AM: No Raags from Guru Granth Sahib

3AM - 6AM: Aasa, Raamkali, Bhairav, Parbhati

LOOK RAG ASA IS @ 3AM - 6AM. or you can play Raamkali, Bhairav or Parbhati, but Rag Asa is a more set Sikh morning rag because of the compostion of Asa Di Vaar.
