true...but read it in the early morning AMRIT VELA!

see, using a big font can take up a lot of space.

u see doing paarth during amrit vela (12.30am to 6.30am) is when heaven's doors are opened and God casts his/her gracious glance on you

d_oh.gif You always give better answers than me!

P.S. Brian, make sure you wear a shirt when doing paarth! :TH:

edit: before you try to do what the first thing says, i strongly recommend that you start doing simran, sewa, reading bani in the early hours of the morning and do sangat of gursikhs if thats possible at all. because this path is very very tough and one needs all the help one can get.

I read this shabad from my satguru SGGS ji's baani today, and your post came to my mind:

soriT mhlw 5 pMcpdw ] (616-15)

sorath mehlaa 5 panchpadaa.

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl, Panch-Padas:

ibnsY mohu myrw Aru qyrw ibnsY ApnI DwrI ]1] (616-16, soriT, mÚ 5)

binsai moh mayraa ar tayraa binsai apnee Dhaaree. ||1||

May my emotional attachment, my sense of mine and yours, and my self-conceit be dispelled. ||1||

sMqhu iehw bqwvhu kwrI ] (616-16, soriT, mÚ 5)

santahu ihaa bataavhu kaaree.

O Saints, show me such a way,

ijqu haumY grbu invwrI ]1] rhwau ] (616-16, soriT, mÚ 5)

jit ha-umai garab nivaaree. ||1|| rahaa-o.

by which my egotism and pride might be eliminated. ||1||Pause||

srb BUq pwrbRhmu kir mwinAw hovW sgl rynwrI ]2] (616-17, soriT, mÚ 5)

sarab bhoot paarbarahm kar maani-aa hovaaN sagal raynaaree. ||2||

I see the Supreme Lord God in all beings, and I am the dust of all. ||2||

pyiKE pRB jIau ApunY sMgy cUkY BIiq BRmwrI ]3] (616-17, soriT, mÚ 5)

paykhi-o parabh jee-o apunai sangay chookai bheet bharmaaree. ||3||

I see God always with me, and the wall of doubt has been shattered. ||3||

AauKDu nwmu inrml jlu AMimRqu pweIAY gurU duAwrI ]4] (616-18, soriT, mÚ 5)

a-ukhaDh naam nirmal jal amrit paa-ee-ai guroo du-aaree. ||4||

The medicine of the Naam, and the Immaculate Water of Ambrosial Nectar, are obtained through the Guru's Gate. ||4||

khu nwnk ijsu msqik iliKAw iqsu gur imil rog ibdwrI ]5]17]28] (616-19, soriT, mÚ 5)

kaho naanak jis mastak likhi-aa tis gur mil rog bidaaree. ||5||17||28||

Says Nanak, one who has such pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon his forehead, meets with the Guru, and his diseases are cured. ||5||17||28||

You conquer ego, you meet God. Without the puran shabad, no one can conquer ego. So go to puran satguru Sri Guru Granth sahib ji and with true devotion begin to immerse yourself in God's word, shabad guru, pavitar baani saroop of akaal purakh, sri guru granth sahib ji maharaj, king of kings.

peace.
