On the 18 Sep there is a presentation @ the British Library. The British Library has been described as : "Home of the greatest collection of Sikh and Punjabi Manuscripts outside India".

Are "manuscripts" described the the Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj that the British Library have in their possesion? I remember a few years ago they had Maharaj's Saroop on display in a glass cabinet. I know some campaign was started against this, what happened? Are the Saroops still in the Library?

I found these old threads..

These pictures were on the previous threads back in 2004. This is major stuff, if the British Library have Maharaj's Saroops in their possesion and they do not have any satkar for the Saroops! The Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is in a glass cabinet in the Library! What is going on!! The Saroop is supposed to be from 17th Centuary.

I remember this well! How foolish can we be to allow the some of the most puratan Saroops of Maharaj be stored in a library? Well ASHT was working with BL to implement procedures to sadkar of Maharaj at the library. Any comments ASHT? Will we seen Maharaj saroops on display in glass cabinets on the 18th?

We need to start a discussion with BL now.

I feel very uncomfortable about this issue. I mean we go around attempting to stop the beadbi of Guru Ji's Saroop, but how come we have not dealt with this problem. I always wondered if Libraries would have Guru Ji's Saroop on their premises. I am shocked to see that even British MPs supported the Sikh community on this issue.

What was thr outcome then? I take it the Saroops are still in the vaults of the British Library!!!
