Even Manmukhs are better then us, they dont know the rights and wrongs of sikhi or being a good person.

We know what the rights and wrongs are becuase we have the perfect guru, YET we dont do it.

Dharam raaj is going to say to us, you knew what the rights and wrongs were why didnt you do it.

What does the sangat think?

Do you think we will get a worser punishment, for not keeping rehit, jaaping naam and doing amritwela etc?

Manmukhs follow there maan because its the only thing they got, we got Guru Granth Sahib ji so why dont we follow the teachings.

Im not talking about gursikhs but people like me, who have the teachings but dont do them.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh

Bhai Sahib you have posted an intresting post i'm supprised others aint replied but i will tell you what i think

basicly daas thinks we shouldnt think about such things... obviously if we have found this path then we shud keep to it and keep to our promises what we have made when we took amrit.

we shouldnt worry about punishments and stuff that just becomes scary if we start thinking of such things it will surely get us depressed

in japji sahib we say

jo tudh baavai saa ee bhall kaar too sadda salaamat nirankar , we basicly are saying to waheguru what ever pleases you is only good done , you eternal and formless one..

whether mahraj decides to punish us or not we should just accept it

i dunno if this answers your question or not..

Its not a coincedence that you were born into a sikh family, its not a coincedence that you think about death and such questions arise in your mind.

do you really think that it is upto us to jaap naam? that is upto us to keep amritvela? from my limited knowledge i think its guruji themselves that make us jaap naam, wake us at amritvela, make us come to gurdwara. events happen in our lives that either take us closer to or away from sikhi and they all happen according to guru's will.

their are to things fate and destiny

Destiny is that you can rise to deliver what the Gurus want you to deliver.. when we took this incarnation our souls signed a contract with God and said we are gonig to deliver this.... when but sometimes we forget what we are gonig to deliver to the world... when we remember why we are here & what we came to deliver and we deliver it .. we deliver ourself to our destiny ... this requries EFFORT TO LFT OURSHELVES

if we dont lift ourselfs we end up with our fate.. this is the thing that will happen to us if we dont realise our destiny ... fate is like when we just say whatever with the world

I don't know much about punishment after death. But could it be that if we really understood the Guru that we would not act as Manmukhs. Maybe because we only repeat the words of the Guru without understanding them we have not reached that point where we would know the truth and still practice falsehood and thus fall into this situation.

I would find it hard to believe that knowing the truth one would still want to follow falsehood. Once you reach that point I think following falsehood would be as hard as a manmukh following the truth.

For a manmukh all the mind does is doubt the truth. This is also the reason we can learn about Sikhism and still be a manmukh.

For a gurmukh all the mind does is love the truth.

Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh

I find this topic quite scary... but i think we need to remind ourselves of the consiquences we shall have to pay if we dont do our naam kamaee...

The reason i say this is.. if you take bhai rama singh ji.. In the book they wrote, they tell us about a few times in his life when he was reminded of what would happen if he didn't do his naame kamaee. IE. the dreams he had and the animals he saw suffering resulted in him stopping a night in the jungle meditating for over 12 hours or somthing at the age of 12!!!

I personally know that if most gursikhs didn't know the consiquences of what would happen to them they'd be too chilled out and just think "oh who cares il do it in next janam or watever". (i know i would)

The fact that guru sahib reminds us of the consiquences, may "depress" us.. but maybe the real thing that we are stressing about is that we haven't / arn't doing enough naam jap as we should/could.
