How To Meet Influential Or Admirable Individuals?

I have decided to let go all of my friends, their all pretty much entangled with either drugs/girls/gambling, and I would like to meet sangat who are decent and hardworking.

I goto the gurdwara all the time, but I never am able to meet new people there, its funny we see people all the time there, but we dont know their names, what they do. Hence, I have decided maybe its perhaps better if I invest my time in some volunteer organizations. Can anyone think of anything or how they met individuals who helped them in their career or life goals?

Lastly, I live in Vancouver, I was thinking of either the Downtown Rotary Club. :wub:

Now, go to the Gurdwaras in the vicinty and get into a conversation with sangat and involved in events organised by the Gurdwaras. I did this and i met a bunch of Gursikhs, and it was awesome! - I hope you're not shy or my suggestion may not work

Congrats that you've seen that your current friends are not the sangat you want to keep, but isn't that harsh? Keep in touch and who knows once you've started practicing Sikhi, it will rub off on them too :e:
