...i am a trim singh...

with daily effort you are,

why? do you feel ashamed to have a real dhari?

lol.... you make me laugh son... so im assuming you have a big Dharha?... thats your preference not mine but yours. My preference at the minute is not to have a "real dhari" as you say. That is entirely my decision. Before coming onto these forums please read the Title of the topic, this has nothing to do with what a guy looks like or wat he does but the FACT he was RACIALLY DISCRIMINATED BY A COPPER. I dont care if hes a trim singh or if he's a Amritari the POINT is he was RACIALLY DSCRIMINATED.

Now I hope that has got through to u, you so called "Sikhs"... you people have alot to learn in life

Exactly you the nail on the head 100% correct d_oh.gif

Cheers mate, people need to concentrate on thier own beliefs and make sure they are doing everything right, rather than looking at others. People will respect you far more.

Unity, the following isn’t about you or me. It is about our community. You and I are simply a medium through which some issues can be addressed.

What is it that triggered you? It was not that my query did not tie nicely to the thread title. It also was also not anything to do with racial discrimination. Racial discrimination against anyone is wrong. I did not say otherwise. I am in agreement with you.

It seems you are angry because you are feeling “judged”. Since this is a relatively anonymous forum, perhaps the biggest judge is your own conscience. The more power to you if this is the case. You said you are a “trim singh”. That’s a paradox.

Since you are positioning sons and fathers, with the comment “you make me laugh son”…, perhaps it is helpful to recall a particular “Guru Gobind Singh Ji” who as guruji bowed before others and asked to be given the name “Singh”.

I don’t purport to be more sikh than anyone. My status as a sikh falls for short. I do think about how I can serve sikhi as I can never pay it back the peace and strength that it offers. In part, this is why I decide not to have “trim singh” proclamations go unnoticed.

We worry about racial discrimination after making a mockery of ourselves by trimming our beard. What racial or other integrity is left to uphold? For Sikhs, the more problematic and dangerous discrimination is the psychological self-discrimination and self hatred, which has led people to trim their beards/kes as an acknowledgment of fear and inferiority.

If a slave mindlessly writes “slave” on his forehead every morning because a critical mass of an insecure populace has done so, then who is going to take the slave seriously when he says that he wants freedom? And who inevitably serves as the biggest oppressor of those who battle and don’t write “slave” on their foreheads?

A “trim singh” comfort is a walking talking insult to the foundation of sikhi, built by so many who kissed death rather than gave their kes. This also does not mean that you do not mean well, or are not caring, or are not capable of love for sikhi. Unity, regardless of your impressions, see if you can digest the fact that you are truly accepted only by those who are capable of accepting themselves.

With daily effort you are a self proclaimed “trim singh”. You raised this. My question to you was simple. As I mentioned, the question was not about you, as “you” are relatively anonymous, but the question was about us. This is one of many such questions for us.

NO wonder there is no UNITY between the sikhs, if one gets battered, racially abused or anything, no one comes to help or unite, al lthey do is play gatka in demonstration how about using it to help other sikhs or helping others.

In the time of Gurus such martial arts were needed, now its done in demonstration, however now a days you cant carry large sticks etc, what you need to keep in mind is using bare fists, but who unites, no one.

All the sikhs are bothered about is Langar (the stomach really), pardhan and committee and argue about history etc? More or less every thing is commercialised in Sikhi now a days, wheres the unity. One thing I can say about muslay, the stick together no matter if he practices the religion or not.
