Advise Please On Recording Kirtan Direct To Mp3

Need some advice. Am looking for the best equipment to use to record kirtan. Have got a tie mic (Yoga EM-8) and have been using a minidisc recorder for ages which has been fine, but now I want to record direct to a small mp3 player using the microphone.

Any ideas on the best mp3 player anyone ?

Ive never thought of leaving the old trusted MD...its the best way i think especially through a mixer. otherwise record straight into laptop?

Usually its best to do it from the line in of the mixer straight into a laptop, it maintains a very high level of quality. I know that the Archos Jukeboxes are very good for recording, as they convert directly to MP3 and support VBR and constant bit rates (like 490 kbps).
