Amrit & You

Recommended Posts

I was just thinking of this question and wondered how people would answer it.

Why was taking Amrit important FOR YOU? Why was it a step YOU wanted to make in your life.

This is kind of like the "How did you find him" Thread. But I guess I added my own spin to it =)

You can write as long as you want as long as you answer the question! =)

really looking foward to hearing some of the sangat's views =))

waheguru jee ka khalsa! waheguru jee kee fateh!

don't be dissappointed, i think it's a hard question to respond to.

amrit? why did i personally take it. well for me it just happened...i was only 8 when i took amrit, i will be 24 this year. why i took it?? maybe just how it was meant to be, how guru sahib jee wanted it.

for me, the more relevant question would be...why did i keep it?

well, when you think of guru sahib jee, there is no other Guru out there like Him. the one who follows you around and asks you to remember parmathma. the one guru who loves you as his child and never judges you, even when the world seems to be against you. the guru...who so many admire...how could i ever let go...and the most amazing thing is that it's a deep down feeling that can't be described. ever moment you remember that you are wearing guru sahib jee's dastaar, his kirpan...ever second a stranger looks at you in aw, and tells you how beautiful you are...wonders who you are...makes you feel this contentment inside that no matter what happens in your life, it's going ot be okay because you belong to parmathma..and through the guru you understand that.

what else do you need? who else do you need?....no one

lol, hanji bhainji.

its a somewhat hard question to answer. :umm:

well...hmm..

for me, it just sorta happened. ( as bismaadh kaur bhainay described. = ) )

it started with me listening to.. blue star stories.

i would listen to these stories, and i would watch videos on 1984, and little by little,

it just piled on me, how important religion truly is.

it got to the point where.. grin.gif

for a certain amount of time, i had truly wished that i was there when blue star happened.

i had wished that i had died for my dharam.

and thats when i started realizing i was getting ready for Amrith.

You start to realize what effect Guru ji can really have on you.

and once you realize that effect, your set. :(

Thankfully, with Guru ji's kirpa, i was blessed with Amrith.... a year or so ago. = )

my two cents.

Bhul Chuck Maaf.

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH!
