ok i think i'm in LA LA LAND blush.gif

i plugged in numbers to what i had written above and got 15N as the answer :H:

but i did take time as 0.2 secs tho. maybe that had something to do with.

f = ma

a = (v1 - v0)/t = (30-0)/0.2 = 150m/s2

so, f = 0.1kg * 150m/s2 = 15N :umm:

damn, i forgot how much i used to love physics. even tho i suck at it now :devil:

edit: o snap ohmy.gif i'm on crack. lol. haha i put s2 as my units for time, when i didnt actually square anything :(

i tried that

look

v squared= u squared+ 2as

a= (v squared - u squared) divided by 2s

a= (30 squared - 0 squared) divided by 2s

a= 900/2s

a=900/0.04

a=22500m/s squared ohmy.gif

then F=ma

=0.1 x 22500

answer= 2250N

2 things tht i dont get about tht

1. the acceleration is 22500???!?!?! thats MASSSSSIVE

2. answer in the book says that the final asnwer is 225, so where did i forget to divide by 10?

thank you fisics sangat

I got the right answer (highlight my original post - the answer was 225N).

The reason you got your answer wrong is because you made a massive mistake you didn't read your own question.

s = 0.2, not 0.02 like you have it. Your calculation goes a=900/0.04. Where did that 0.04 come from?

The distance s=0.2 so 2s = 2x0.2 = 0.4

a = 900/.4 = 2250ms-2

F=ma = 0.1x2250 = 225

F=225N

Please for the love of God don't make fundamental errors like this - you could lose easy marks.

oh yeh, instead of multiplying s by 2, i squared it :devil:

ooops

thanks a lot
