Moments Of Reflection...

Fateh...

How ten pounds looks so big when we take it to the Gurdwara,

But so small when we take it shopping.

How long 60 minutes is when we are sitting in the Gurdwara,

But so short when on the computer, shopping or watching T.V.

How boring it is to read from a Gutka or Pothee,

But how easy it is to read 200-300 psges of a best selling novel.

How we believe what people or newspapers say,

But question what Guru Ji says.

How we can't think of anything to say when we pray,

But don't have any difficulty in thinking of things to gossip about.

How we need 2 or 3 weeks to fit a Sikhi event into our schedule,

But have no problem adjusting for a social event at the last minute.

How thrilled we get when a football game goes into overtime,

But complain when a kirtan programme is longer than usual.

How we scramble to get a front row seat at a sporting event or concert,

But scramble to get the back row seat at the Gurdwara.

How difficult it is to share the Guru's word with others,

But how simple it is to spread rumours.

How we all want to go Heaven,

Provided we don't have to believe, think, say, or do anything.

its not an excuse i think, its just a matter of what works for you. some people like the kick it akj style, some like it slow raag style, some like tunes style. its just different, doesn't mean its bad.

if i dont get anything out of say tunes style kirtan, i would probly not sit for 3 hours in darbar sahib listening. even though bani is always sung the same, i think everyone would agree when i say that the musical aspect makes a BIG difference.

see the beauty of the "drishti" of my mittar pyara pray.gif

the whole baani is in peotic form which can be sung disciplined in shudh raagas

offering peace not only with words and meaning but with the music, tune and rhythem also
