mann_kaum_layee_qurbaan
this farmer has a debt of 290,000 rupees which is a little over $7,000. SGPC probably makes more than that in an hour. maybe harmandir sahib which is currently used as a cash cow by our leaders, should donate dasvandh to people like this man. sikh are supposed to donate dasvand, do gurdwaras forward any of that to real people in need? we need answers. i personally want to know where my money goes when i go to harmadir sahib. does it pay for vedanti and makkar's frequent visits abroad or for real sewa. peace.
Freed
Really Sad A song that highlights the problem and the attempts by many (usually NRIs and Singers) to say 'everythings OK' - 'Punjab is the most prosperous state' - when we all know things are not OK The day is not too far away when our Beloved 'Majha, Malva and Doaba' may become a desert - full of Large NRI mansions, Marriage Palaces & Pubs and Clubs but not much else. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuQU89xM68M
dalsingh101
How about helping people who aren't from peasant backgrounds? If you're coming out with this, help those people who are poor from other backgrounds, not concentrate on farmers, many of whom are pretty ignorant towards non peasants themselves and wouldn't lift a finger to help anyone outside of their own click. Like other people of Panjab aren't suffering. Plus, Jatts seriously need to learn to live humble lives. Personally speaking, if an <banned word filter activated> kills himself because he feels that he hasn't got the money to act as flash as the next farmer, say at his daughters wedding, then he has IQ issues.
2desi
ahhhhh.....so many problems....nobody is listening to each other....sometimes I feel that Punjab has to hit "rock bottom" to a point where it can't get any worse and then maybe a sense of realization will come to the people. I don't think Punjab has achieved anything substantial since 1947 or should I say 1966? Maybe its just written to be played out like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V70RHkyRpik :sady:

dalsingh101
The only thing we can do is try to educate the youth and make them idealistic again and learn from the past. Have to try to stay chardhi kala. We really need to knock this caste and jatha thing on the head as a start in my opinion. Or else we just come off as big hypocrites.Goes totally against the brotherhood concept at the heart of Sikhi.
