Sleeping With Kirpans

Hi guys,

A few years ago I started keeping my hair. Ever since, I've had faith and I've been studying my religion. Recently I decided to try and wear the full 5K's including Kirpan 24/7 and get myself setup towards taking Amrit one day (god willing) .

During the day I can walk about with no problems. At night when I sleep I find it IMPOSSIBLE to sleep with my kirpan on. Either the cold metal of it keeps touching me and freaking me out, or my mind is just set on it being there. My mind refuses to budge and I never get to sleep.

I bought myself a considerably small kirpan compared to what I've seen other Sikhs wear.

How can I adjust myself/kirpan towards being able to sleep comfortably?

Kind regards.

Put it under your pillow, obviously you are still wearing it on your Gatra but in this position (under your head), it will probably not disturb you in your sleep. Maybe your Gatra is too short.

why not wear your kirpan of the outside of your nightwear, therefore not having direct conTACT OF THE METAL WITH YOUR SKIN?

...unless you sleep in 'just' you kachera...then...i suppose you'll get used to the cold metal, one day :)

Thanks for the replies guys.

Well, I guess it could be the gatra seeing that it's an exact fit. I tend to sleep without shirt on as it feels more comfortable. With shirts theres always a problem.

isit me or does this dude complain 2 much? tongue.gif

Reminds me of a saying:

If you're not tired, no matter how comfortable/soft your bed is you won't fall asleep.

And when you're knackered, you'll fall asleep even if you're lying on the ground!

So the real problem behind your sleep difficulty is maybe your laziness during the day. Do yourself a favour and work hard (physically and mentally) during the day. Tire urself out and then you'll realise that kirpan/no kirpan u'll sleep like a baby

:TH:
