Divorce, what is the sangats view on this. I am asking from a personal perspective. I have been divorced for 6 years now. Lately everyone seems to be saying that we should get together and put the past behind us. I have not spoken to my ex wife at all about it and I don’t know where these ideas are originating from. We have no children.

Has anyone known a Sikh arranged marriage where the couple have got together after a divorce? I thought that these things don’t exist in the Sikh culture?

It’s really messing up my head and I need to resolve this issue. What should I do?

A couplet by Bhagat Raheem (a medieval age Muslim devotee of Bhagwan Shri Krishan)

Rahiman dhaaga prem ka, na toddo pichkaaye

tootay se phir yeh na jurray, jurray toh gaanth parr jaaye

Raheem, don't break the thread of love

Once broken it can't be fiex again, and if fixed, it will always have a knot

Having said that, if both sides feel its possible and necessary to get back, and are ready to make the required compromises and start fresh, go for it!

And may Gurujee guide and bless you!
