Just found on net, anyone watched it??????

My Mother India

Patricia meets her Indian family

Safina, her mother Patricia, Father Jit and Grandfather.

My Mother India is a passionate documentary told by the child of a mixed marriage.

Although the film starts of as a humorous and lighthearted documentary about an eccentric, multicultural family, it unfolds into a complex commentary on the social, political and religious events of the anti-Sikh riots of 1984.

The director traces her family history, from the time her mother left Australia to start a family in India with her husband, until the personal and political pressures of the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 lead her mother to send her children back to Australia.

Jit saying his prayers

Safina's father Jit reconverted to Sikhism.

My Mother India is a powerful tale of love and hate, exile and belonging, loss of identity and return of faith.

The film was released throughout Australia in 2002. It had enormous success at the box office running for six months in Sydney alone and became one of the three highest grossing Australian documentaries since 2000.

I've been wanting to watch it for ages but couldn't get hold of it, probably because it's Austrailian.
