Thanks for providing verses from gurbani but i m afraid you got the wrong person to show this. Please show it to people who do such things and let us know the answer you get from them.

I m sympathize with them because they went soo many hardships to keep this puratan maryada(tradition) alive and will do so. Thats their tradition i have no means to be a intruder and tell them what they doin is wrong. So I for once instead of discouraging them but i sypathize with them to keep the sikhi traidtion alive.

Sikhi would be tasteless if its only one maryada because it beleive it was never meant to be one maryada because by five main lineages (Nihangs, Takshal, Udhasi, Sevapanthis and Nirmala's). These sa

mpardha's are all different from each other. Just because they are different that doesnt let them to pull each other's dhara but to respect one each other view.

As far as I know, consumption of any form of intoxicants is prohibited by Sikhism.

After my research i can proudly tell that <Anti-Sikh Site> is not good representation of nihangs. Lot of mis-information there..however there is some accurate information...

i would rate that site 4 Out of 10 for representation of nihangs. You wanna know about nihangs.. go visit their dera's and live there if you are goin to india.

What is this manmat?

I'll be completely honest with you...I'm a moorakh, a complete <banned word filter activated>...I know very little about Sikhi...but one of the first things I was taught was NO intoxicants...no alcohol, no marijuana, no tobacco, etc...

What's happening to this forum? There are posts saying it's ok to bow to sants...another saying it's ok to smoke marijuana...I thought this was a SIKH forum?

Maybe I'm just close-minded...but damn...if we're allowed to do this stuff, why not cut our hair? why not go drinking every night instead of kirtan? why not just replace sggs with sants? why not just turn into hindus?

I understand we should respect "puratan maryada" as N30 Singh says...but at one time there were prostitutes and liquor in sri darbar sahib...should we now have these things again?

i owuld love it there was only one maryada, but we cant. And udasis and nirmalas technically arent sikhs, but sewedaars. They arent sikhs cause they dont take amrit, and therefore, dont get naam of guru je. Nihangs have gone straight messed up, except for baba nihal singh je and most of the singhs with him.

Sant je was good friends with baba nihal singh je

cause he is a true nihang

no bhang, no chatka, no nothing

if u wanna follow nihang maryada, get it from baba hihal singh je, not govermenti bandae like santa singh.
