Hi Everyone,

Hope I'm posting this in the right area...

My friend has a really nice picture of Guru Gobind Singh Ji on their wall. In the corner of the picture there is a picture of a dead bird with smaller birds seemingly eating the inside of the bigger bird. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the significance of this?

And why is Guru Gobind Singh Ji always painted with a bird?

I would be grateful if someone can take the time to enlighten me.

Thanks

Thanks Surinderjit,

What about the big bird / little birds part - any ideas?

Could be the artist's way of representing Guru Ji's saying "chirian tho mein baaj charraoun" - literally " I will make sparrows defeat hawks " meaning that they will give previously oppressed and downtrodden people the power to fight against more powerful oppressive forces.
